Just bought a 2022 hyundai santa fe limited hybrid. Seriously best car ever. We test drove and researched over 10+ cars. Hyundai is in a league of its own. Plus a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty to throw in the mix.

Tucson or Santa Fe? Definitely the Tucson. Better fuel economy, acceleration, infotainment unit, 400 pounds lighter. About $3K US less expensive for the top trim.

I lean that way...but the Santa Fe hybrid does come with a spare tire.....lighter car sounds nice, but in an accident; wondering if the heavier car is safer??? Tucson has more cargo room...Santa Fe has more people room...would like to see actual fuel economy numbers...have heard that highway mileage is much worse than advertised on the highway

Great show guys! Definitely one of the very best channels. Question: is the heating system in the Santa Fe hybrid sufficient for Canadian winters? Particularly in city driving, when the engine is not operating for much of the time. I have a friend with a hybrid (not Hyundai), who can never get the car warm enough on our cold winter days.

Thank you for sharing! If you don't need the extra space, which is not by much, I would pick the Tucson hybrid over the Santa Fe. The Tucson most likely has better driving dynamics compared its bigger brother the Santa Fe. The Santa Fe is about 400 lbs heavier than the Tucson as you two have mentioned in the review.

We’re ordering the Santa Fe SLE hybrid today. I like how much more legroom it has versus the Tucson. We have a RAV4 and the gas mileage is dismal. While the mpg in the Santa Fe may not be better than the other hybrids you mentioned, it is better than what we get now. If you want more cargo, go with the Tucson. If more seating space, then the Santa Fe. Thanks for the review.

For a family of 5, the Santa Fe is a better choice, especially considering the space in the second row. The Tucson has a peculiar flaw: there is not enough foot space for the middle passenger in the second row. Yes, it is that small. I wear size 43 and I couldn’t fit my feet in that tiny space. Both cars are underrated and real gems though! Great review 🎉

US 2022 SF Hybrid Blue here. Want to add a couple thoughts to this review. First, my city mileage is 36-38 mpg. I know Hyundai's advertised number is lower. Second, the internal hauling capacity on this compared to the redesigned Tucson isn't close. It's longer, wider, and taller than the Tucson. The net effect of what you can pack inside is substantially more than the Tucson. I measured both with actual cargo at the dealer before choosing the Santa Fe.

Thanks for the great review. The bloopers are HILARIOUS!! About the Hyundai, as a 58 year old, I agree that the demographic for the Santa Fe is aimed at an older more traditional buyer, but as one of those buyers --- I like the switches, buttons, and the styling. I like the chrome trim - I am definitely not one for the horrendous "murdered out" all-black trim and wheels that's so prevalent today. Hyundai NAILED it with this hybrid Santa Fe.

I'm a 69 yo retiree in NY . No more commuting or long trips , except to visit Grandkids 2x a month at 250 miles to and from.... The Hybrid, which I have never had, seems to make the most sense. So , with currently driving a 2019 MDX Advance, leased to June 2022 (I probably trade this car in and still have "equity" with only 18K on the clock in excellent condition), I'm wrestling with some SUVs to go with: This Santa Fe , the 2021 Sorento SX (non- Hybrid & Hybrid [are you sure that the Hybrid Sorento does not come with HTRAC?), the 2021 Tuscon and maybe a new Blazer(?). I don't need a 3rd Row (I don't know why people and Reviewers make such a "thing" about 3rd Row seating ...do people really use that feature aon any real regular basis?), you guys seem that you REALLY like the Tuscon better, Am I Correct? God Bless, take care, appreciate your comments. Great reviews which deliver Real life useful info to consumers.

In the US the Sorento hybrid comes ONLY with FWD. The forthcoming PHEV Sorento will have AWD. As far as the 3rd row seating is concerned, my family of four (2 adults, a teenage daughter, and a big dog) deploy the 3rd row in our Sorento rarely. But when we transport a gaggle of teenage girls or need seating for more than 5 passengers on a local outing it's a HUGE convenience compared to using two vehicles.

At 6:22 you say that the smaller Tucson has more cargo space, but in the U.S. anyway, that's not the case. The Tucson has 31 cu ft with 2nd row up, and 61.9 cu ft with 2nd row down. The Santa Fe numbers are 36.4 and 72 cu ft respectively. Did you mean to say that the *square* footage is more, i.e. the distance from the tailgate to the back of the 2nd row seats is greater in the Tucson? I honestly wish someone would report square footage, because I don't stack stuff up to the ceiling, so I'd rather have more square footage than cubic feet. Thanks for the informative reviews!

3:20 I think you're right about Hyundai's strategy. Santa Fe looks sophisticated while having just enough of an edge, which appeal to the Boomers down to the 40 y.o. millennial, while Tucson's got that edgier vibe that appeal to the under 40 crowd. When starting from stop or when rolling along at idle and then suddenly hit the load petal - does it hesitate? Mine's done that a few times. It's as if it can't quite decide which engine is on duty. After a second, maybe two (it always seems longer) off we go. Switching gears, I wish I could find seat belt extenders. I not real fat but I'm almost 80 and not as flexible as I once was. I dreading struggling with them come winter. (MN) Thanks for the review.

Sounds like the Tucson Hybrid wins on mileage and fun to drive, over the Santa Fe Hybrid, but how would you compare the fun to drive factor vs the santa fe turbo.? They are very different. The Hybrid provides a smooth ride and quick acceleration. It almost feels like you are driving a pure EV. The turbo engine on the Santa Fe is a lot of fun, there's plenty of power and it has a refined drive. You feel more of the road when you drive it. Both are very good but different.

I live in the U.S., & bc of the current gas prices, I actually was considering getting the Tucson Hybrid Limited or the Santa Fe Hybrid Limited trim bc of the current gas prices in the U.S. I wish I could get the plug-in hybrid version of either but they're not sold in FL atm. I also love the Santa Fe Calligraphy trim but the current gas prices kind of make me apprehensu to lease that bc of how much gas is per gallon, even if it only needs 87 or 89 grade gas. While I love both of them, I personally like the Santa Fe a little bit more bc it has physical buttons & knobs which the Tucson Limited trim doesn’t have. I also like the beige interior available on the Santa Fe Calligraphy trim & Hybrid Limited trim which you can't get on the Tucson

The California Stat of 20% of Electric car owners, went back to gasoline or regular Hybrid vehicles is very interesting. I'm resistant to all Electric cars , even though a startling stat I heard yesterday is mesmerizing: The new Ford All Electric Pick Up Truck just announced that Ford has 20,000 Orders already !!. Even Plug In Hybrids, require Plug In stations in your house, and with numerous Brown outs and Black outs we experience in NY (Westchester County), makes me resistant to consider... Plug in Hybrids don't need a special plug in station in your home. Just a standard 120V outlet. The car will come with an AC adapter that is basically an overgrown version of what you get with a laptop computer. Generally speaking a full charge on 120V will take 8 hours, so as you sleep overnight. So I really don't understand the people who never plug them in, unless they live in an apartment complex where you can't have the charger strung out. In which case, they really should have bought a regular hybrid instead. An additional note... even full EV's don't *require* anything more than a 120V outlet, but the charge time gets really silly unless you have a L2 charger. Refitting a decently modern house to accommodate a 240V L2 charger isn't actually a big deal, since it's usually just adding one more outlet and circuit breaker to the house. Older houses? That's a whole different story.

Hyundai actually is a company people can trust even if there background of Hyundai is in building world class marine transport ships . One thing is for sure they do not make anything that will not last , bad quality or shitty product. They are just not as far developed as Toyota in the automotive industry yet. World class company . We should only expect nothing less then constant improvement in automotive industries by Hyundai.

Many thanks for your review. I am considering getting the 2022 Santa Fe Calligraphy Hybrid AWD. Can this SUV be driven on a somewhat long trip (six or seven hours) driving around 70 or 75 mph on a freeway? Is the battery continually charging from the engine during such long-distance driving? Thank you.

Great review Guys. The other thing regarding fuel range would be the gas tank size difference between the Santa Fe and the Tucson. If you have to constant buy gas due to a small gas tank, the mpgs will only take you so far....JMHO

Both the Tucson and Santa Fe are both great cars. It is a shame that the Santa Fe does not come in the Limited trim. This is particularly so if you go with a PHEV which reduces the fuel costs on the Santa Fe closer to those of the Tucson. Since the Venza does not come in a PHEV version, they are two of the few PHEV vehicles to choose from in Canada.

Very few reviewers comment on whether the second row is on tracks and slides for- aft in 2 row SUVs. I looked at the blue version of the Santa Fe hybrid a few weeks ago in the US and it did, and when folded down was totally flat . Today I’m going to see a Tucson hybrid and measure that out as well. I’m a retired senior , vaccinated, and ready to travel. I wish the Venza was larger inside than the RAV4, similar to the Santa Fe, or that the new Sienna had removable second row seats. In addition, am I the only one who hates panoramic sunroofs?

With Kia/Hyandai redesigning model's every 2-3 years I'd imagine it would be more difficult to get parts on these in 5-10 years (especially aftermarket). Also curious how long term reliability will be on these. Low resale value currently would say not great but only time will tell with these new models.

Hyundai making it hard to ignore. Trying to decide whether to go EV or hybrid, buy now or wait for new EV advancements. Traditional higher end products like Lexus, middle range like Toyota, etc. I want good mileage and comfort. Won't buy Tesla Model Y because of the screen only display and controls. And their quality sucks. Fortunately I have 2 well working cars and can wait for the right option to come along.

Another great (and timely) video from Andrea and Zack - thanks guys! 👍 A couple of weeks ago I reserved a 2022 Tucson Ultimate Hybrid that's forecasted to arrive at my local Hyundai dealer in early June. After reserving the Tucson I began wondering if I should have gone for the Santa Fe Luxury Hybrid instead. After watching this video I'm convinced now the Tucson Ultimate Hybrid is the right way to go. The decision would be more difficult if Hyundai Canada were to offer a loaded "Ultimate" version of the Santa Fe Hybrid. I'm guessing the Ultimate Hybrid model will be offered on the 2022 model-year Santa Fe.

Hi Eric - Yes, I took delivery of my/our '22 Tucson Ultimate Hybrid on June 12th. My wife and I love it! I reserved our Tucson at a local Hyundai dealer after the vehicle had already been built and was on the way, so I didn't have to wait very long to get it. If you were to order a Tucson Hybrid, I suspect a realistic expectation for wait time would be 10-12 weeks. Good luck on all fronts.
