Someone is chronically ill in the United States Hospital: *Rubs hands greedily* But seriously Pax hope you get better, and everything goes well and I also hope no more hospital trips unless it's to get the testosterone shots
@BandanaDrummer953 жыл бұрын
Congrats on the testosterone. Also, I totally understand the fear about turning 26... as a 25 and 8 month old person FINALLY getting some of my medical issues sorted out. I've got 4 months to figure as much of this shit out before it gets more expensive

I feel you on the blood sugar thing I have to keep candy on me at all times to help with my chronic illness but more so I don't end up having a flare or an attack (I have Porphyria google it for those curious) 🖤🖤🖤

haha my friend has type 1 diabetes and when i was younger i was jealous that she always took candy with her- but i get it now that it’s not anything to be jealous of
@RadPaxOfficial3 жыл бұрын
yeah back in school kids got jealous I could keep snacks on me to eat in class or go to the nurse to eat snacks cause of my low blood sugar. Meanwhile I was trying not to throw up from being dizzy
@soyboy69533 жыл бұрын
Same here. My friend was also allowed to keep her phone on her during school.p time, something that was prohibited for the rest of us. Tons of people were jealous, and she did occasionally use it to blast music, but I’d see on occasion how shit she felt because of her diabetes.

Dude. You're disabled. Get on Medicaid. And ya better start applying NOW, bcuz without a Disability lawyer it takes YEARS. But it also covers like 90% of my (non-MMJ) medical needs. Also, good vibes! 🌈💜✌🐼
@RadPaxOfficial3 жыл бұрын
oh that's good advice! i'll look into it
@BandanaDrummer953 жыл бұрын
@@RadPaxOfficial Also, certain disability eligibility things change when you hit 25, so hopefully you can get your foot in the door soon enough to get things set in as the below 25 age
@alexwallace32883 жыл бұрын
@@RadPaxOfficial I can attest to that, without Medicaid I would have nothing. Depending on where you live like in blue states it will cover your medical transition among other things. Absolutely look into a disability lawyer. I hope your start with HRT will go smoothly and can continue to progress on that as time goes on :D
@dengosodawg3 жыл бұрын
@@RadPaxOfficial go to the DSHS website for your state and see if you qualify. If you live with family members who work and make enough money you might not qualify (I don’t) but it’s still definitely worth a shot. You’ll need to know how much they make in a year or their monthly income but most other things about it are pretty easy. It shouldn’t take you very long. I hope you’re able to get on decent insurance by the time you turn 26. America is a shithole to put it nicely, if your chronically ill, disabled, and/or poor then it’s a lot harder, good luck dude.
@MathAndComputers3 жыл бұрын
It's good that you have a diagnosis now. Hank Green (of vlogbrothers, Crash Course, SciShow, etc) has ulcerative colitis, and Hannah Witton had it, until she had her colon removed after a bad flare-up, and now she has a stoma, instead, so there are at least a few prominent KZbinrs out there with some advice on coping with it. Hang in there, Pax!

If your health issues are severe enough to be called a disability you can petition your parents insurance to let you stay on past 26, just have to call and see what they need for proof/what severity of issues the particular insurance counts. I found out probably too late lol I turn 26 in two weeks
