Where are your favorite places to eat near Mammoth and June lake?

@@hrachs9828 nice! Were you guys on a boat?
@hrachs98283 жыл бұрын
@@ExploreNaturesCatch yea it was our first time there. Bait shop highly recommended but the guys in front of us were parked on the shore and float tubing. They were killing it as well. Seemed to us tho that everyone that was fly fishing was having more success than us jiggers and powerbait users🤣.

June Lake Brewery Hawaiian Food Truck. Whoa Nellie's Deli near Lee Vining (Usually get one of their Daily Specials, not on the regular menu. The Elk Steak is my favorite). Taqueria Mi Gaudalajara south of Bishop. Copper Top BBQ in Big Pine.

What are your favorite places to stay around the lakes, love your channel Thanks

Thank you for watching! Most of the time we stay in mammoth lakes and it is all through Airbnb. We just filter through the best deals through there. Other than that we’ve stayed in creekside inn located in bishop. That was pretty nice with comfy beds and a free breakfast. We have yet to stay in any cabins right next to the lake but we will soon!

Ugh I can’t wait to come here next month to fish some trouts it will be my first time fishing in general any tips ???

That’s going to be a fun trip. If you like to bait and wait, it’s always a good idea to have powerbait with additional garlic scent. Chartreuse and salmon peach are good colors to carry with you. Move around if you aren’t getting any bites. Seems like the fish start getting active early mornings and near sunset, although you can catch throughout the day. Inlets at the lakes are good areas to fish as well. Sometimes adjusting leader lengths (longer, shorter) helps. They can also be really close to shore as well. Small artificial lures work good too. Mini jigs, small fish imitation lures etc. Follow some of the social media pages on Instagram or Facebook of the lake marinas to stay updated on the trout stocks. Hope that helps and good luck out there. We will love to hear how you did on your trip!

Great Video as always. Water looks kinda shallow, is it safe to wade out there to get in the deep water?

Thank you! Probably not too far out because there is a little drop off where we were at.

We are heading up there for Memorial Weekend? Any recommendations with all the snow they received?
@ExploreNaturesCatch Жыл бұрын
Seems like a perfect time to be out there. It was rough for us during the opening week. By the time we left, the lakes started thawing a lot more so your options are going to be plentiful. I did pretty well at convict. Crowley is a good bet too, especially if you decide to take the boat. Maybe the Sacramento perch bite might be on at Crowley when you get there.

Is this a good place to swim? Anything else to do around there?
@ExploreNaturesCatch3 жыл бұрын
Yes they have a beachy area on the other side where everyone swims. Soft sand, clear water etc. Other things to go: boating, hiking, fishing, biking, breweries, riding the gondola in mammoth etc. I’m sure I’m missing a lot of other things to do. Love it out there.

OMG that video was worth watching just for the Mexican food shown at the end !!! mmm delish. Can you tell us what scents you're using with your mice tails and jigs (if any)? Also, why have you never tried the float tubes on June Lake? June Lake is very bank fisherman-unfriendly. I would think this is a perfect place to try float tubes. Anyway... just a suggestion. Thanks for another great video. Looks like you had a good time.
@ExploreNaturesCatch3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The tacos were pretty good after a long day of fishing. Lately I have been using bang garlic spray on my mice tails and jigs. It’s convenient using that since it’s easily applied since it’s a spray. Surprisingly the scent sticks pretty well on the baits. June lake is really bank unfriendly, I have float tubed the lake once but that day we were unlucky and didn’t get much action. It was a really nice area to float though because the water was so clear. I will give it another shot on my next trip out there. Thanks for the suggestion and yes we had a blast out there. I need to plan the next trip out asap. Any plans for you to fish out in the sierras soon?
