2021 Kia K5 - How to connect wireless android auto or apple carplay

So all you're doing is bluetooth pairing the phone to the car but that's a completely separate issue from carplay. I don't get that permission pop up for carplay when i connect through bluetooth

I have a brand new 2021 Hyundai Elantra with wireless CarPlay included. There is still a USB data port in my car, and I’d really like to use CarPlay wired instead. I can’t find any option(s) to switch to USB from wireless. Do you know if this is possible?

If you have the K5 with the 10 inch screen, it doesn’t come with wireless Apple car play. Only the 8 inch option does 😒🤦🏾‍♂️

No you don't need One UI 3, just whatever the latest version your phone has and it will work if the car infotainment supports wireless android auto

It automatically connects every time you get in the car as long as your Bluetooth is on

I'm frustrated with my 2021 KIA K5 Apple CarPlay connection, not the car itself performance. Sometimes when I get in the car CarPlay works fine but then other times I get the "can't connect" message. I've gone back to the dealership 3 times with the connection problem and they don't know more than I do, they are useless.

I have the same problem with my K5. It works for a couple of minutes and then it disconnects.

@@omargutierrez2403 I agree.....the only problem with my 2022 is the trouble with apple CarPlay . Very confusing, and I have gone to the dealer a few times already, and they do it easily but I still don't get it, but it getting easy with time

@@LordHyperi0n Looks like my comment got deleted for being too accurate with links for proof, but you can compare the trims online. Don't be a jerk, especially when you're totally incorrect dude. The 2022 GtLINE has the larger screen and no wireless connection for Android Auto or Carplay. You need a different trim with the smaller screen for wireless, OR you need to buy something like the AA Wireless dongle on indigogo for a decent aftermarket solution.

If I understand it correctly you use your phones WiFi hot-spot as a link instead of the Bluetooth for higher bandwidth

@@jimnicholas4333 Hi Jim! I understand what you're saying but I'm not talking about your car having a Wi-Fi hot-spot but your phone. Your car does need a WiFi connection though. I have the optima 2017 and it has a WiFi built in. They say that wireless android auto is coming with android 11 but we'll see.

It’s my vehicle too. It cuts out multiple times during a song and sometimes doesn’t even connect. Plus there’s no wired option for Apple CarPlay.

take off your sd card in your car and download the upgrade from your Kia program (download it in your computer), then you'll be able to use it wirelessly.
