I have spent the last 3 years paying off debt, researching and renting pull behinds. Thought I would have to have a bumper pull....til I saw this video. Omg! Gotta go work on that Lance budget!!!

Hi Sheila Spence, Good job on paying off debt! We try to live debt free as well. I recommend to my friends to pay cash for a camper and to not go into debt. Truck campers are great for just one or two people. The downside to a truck camper is you also have to have a good strong truck to go with it. If you have a good tow vehicle already it may be less expensive to find a travel trailer. Good luck on whatever you decide to get and safe travels. Thanks for watching!

You are going to love your Lance! I have a 2018 1/2 Lance 1575. I spent three months working in West Virginia last winter. It got down to 7 Deg F. The Lance insulation and windows kept us toasty warm. You will burn 4 to 5 Lbs of propane every 24 hours at 7 Deg F.

That is nice. I just bought a 1997 Sun Lite pop up slide in camper. It hasn't been used for years and sat inside a barn. Very clean inside and out. No fancy upgrades like yours, but only weighs 1,400 lbs. Can't wait to try it out. Yours is very nice, but I only paid $2,600 for mine. Congratulations on your new adventures.

Really really really nice Truck Camper, best I've seen yet!! I grew up in the 60's and dad always had a pickup truck. First a shell topper, then a little tiny camper topper. By 1975 he had a crank up top camper with tent sides we could stand up in. That was his last. If he were alive he'd love these new campers! He'd be so amazed. Because of him I have to check them out all the time. My husband and I have owned 5 RVs over 30 years. Truck campers always call my name! :o)

Todd, first if all i want to congratulate you for bringing your daughter, Carla, along with you on trips. I have had two truck campers and enjoyed both. I've had about 5 pull trailers and 4 fifth wheels. I have liked all except one of the fifth wheels. Have good travels. Happy trails to you. Grandpa Terry.

Truck campers are the best, and yours is stunning! I love everything you went with as far as finishes. Truck campers look tiny but are deceivingly big on the inside and feel really cozy. I rather drive one of these than pull a big trailer. I wish you many happy years in your new purchase!

Nice! Plenty of upgrades are on your list once you get familiar with the camper. A couple of quick suggestions. When closing cabinet doors push in the latche buttons don't click them shut as the little metal catches will bend or come lose at the screw. Change out the frosted glass on the entrance door with tinted safety glass. Get a dehumidifier for colder weather to reduce humidity levels. Enjoy your new camper.

That was a nicely done video, but it did convince me that I would never want the Lance 975. My Northstar Igloo is shorter, weighs much, much less and has way more interior storage, actual counter space, a more comfortable, useable dinette and table. And I can stop and use the bath, kitchen, dinette and bed without extending a slide. I can camp on a friend's residential street in full stealth mode without a slide. I do not need to worry about a 12 year roof guarantee. My heavy gauge aluminum roof is 16 years old and looks like new except for some stains and gray patina. After showers I do need to use a squeegee for a minute or so to dry the walls and floor. Having living and storage space is more important to me.

Because of you as well as several other truck camper channels after several years of looking we bought a new Lance 1172. Now you all own a new Lance also. Awesome! You look so happy with it and we now know we made the right decision if you bought a Lance. We can’t wait to see videos of your travels in it. I noticed some space in the front of your truck bed, could the camper slide further into the bed to take up that space? Another question - don't you need tie downs for the camper to the truck? Tip: Take your license plate off the rear of the truck before mounting the camper so you can put the plate on the back of the camper. (wink) AWESOME camper - Lance has put a lot of thought into this!

I’ve looked into custom van conversions, skoolies, tiny homes, travel trailer living. I hear a lot of nightmare stories dealing with inconsistent temperatures. One thing you HAVE to do is make sure you get a 4-SEASON your full-time living. So happens truck campers are 4-season.

For our TV we went to Walmart and bought Chromecast a device the plugs in your TV and wall outlet. Then download that to your phone or computer. Cost about 29.00- 30.00 no monthly fee on that. Then we have Hulu that's 6.00 per month. So we cast the movie from our phone to the TV. Yes you have to have internet for it to work. But most places have internet that you can use. It's the best way for us and cheaper. Just a thought for you.

Beware: stopping on a sloped parking area of any kind then activating slide will result in slide failure. The manual indicates no more than 6 degrees I believe. Also. Generator is not designed to operate unless on level ground. Crank all you want. It won't start. Lesson learned. Wet Cell Interstates. Only 17 to 22 hours max unattended. There is lots of current draw discharging these batteries. Reefer eats up gobs of DC electricity

Hi Gary Bowen, Thanks for the tips we'll keep that in mind. I've already changed out my batteries to some AGM 100 amp hour batteries I had. Thanks for watching!

Mike Kuczynski - Not if your camping/visiting numerous Giant Redwood Forest your solar won’t work. Trees average 250 feet tall. How many electric exhaust fans run behind refrigerator these days? Just be aware is my meaning.

I thought Lance Campers where best designed campers in the World until I lived in one for more than 10 years. I hate windows and want to be dry, warm and cool with lots of usable food storage configurations. I have two frig's a full size microwave, 40lb ice maker and bottled water dispenser, but by far the coolest thing I have is a cloths washer. OMG it is the best upgrade ever. Kill your shower and get a cloths washer. I want Cabinet storage and lots of drawers so I did that all with a stone travertine floor. Please excuse the dirty bong. 94 Lance Squire retro remodel

Beautiful camper. I’ve always been intrigued by the engineering and portability of truck campers. But with my back and wife’s claustrophobia climbing into the cocoon like bed would be a no go. Plus y’all look to be 25 years younger! Guess we’ll stick to our Grand Design 5th wheel. Safe travels!
