For those having problem with the back lid, do the two front corners first, run the plastic wedge through a couple of times. Proceed as how they did it in the video with the vents at the sides.

Tackled this yesterday with the Ryzen 7 / RTX3060 variant. I was initially wary, the tolerance on the front end is very tight, stabbing a iFixit opening pick along various points I thought I was going no where until with quite heavy pressure the pick popped under the left corner (when upside down) Once that pick was in it was just a case of running it along the edge then down both sides. I had no centre clips, literally just hinged upwards once all the side clips were released and came off easily. M2 installed in a few minutes and back together with no issues. Not actually difficult, just need a good opening pick, persistence and some bravery!

The bottom panel really does suck to take off. Nearly impossible not to break the tiny plastic clips around the side panels or the interior plastic clips that sit around the RAM sockets.

I got this laptop and the fan on the right hand side (when the laptop is right side up and I'm using it) is not running at all no matter what I do. It does not even turn on when I am gaming. It is a RTX 3060 but the games run in integrated graphics level because the gpu is thermally restricted from the fan being broken out of the box. I received yesterday and initiated a return the same day. I have to wait a few days for them to email me instructions on how to return it. I hope it will not be a huge hassle. I really want to have a great laptop that will last me years. That is why I am exchanging it instead of returning it. No other laptop comes close to having all of these features in one laptop especially for this price.

You will have to use the nail of your thumb (or something even thinner) to open it. When you create a gap with it, use your pry tool to keep it open, then open it like in the video.

For everyone having a problem getting the back off, just get some heavy duty suction cups on Amazon or eBay. Put a suction cup on the back towards the front in the middle (left to right middle) and pull up... this will get you started very easily. I have pried open at least 10 laptops over the last few years and this is by FAR the hardest laptop to get a pry tool into and pry apart. There's almost no room at all.

9:57 on mine, the thermal pad didn't cover the whole SSD, I had to cut it to match itup with the IC's! Can you check yours?

This laptop went insane once it came out, even in China where many super factories locate, the legion 7 experienced a 6-month supply shortage. During that time, a second-hand legion7 can even owned a higher price than the original price since the shortage, it was real estate lol.

Hey, I just got my 7i with rtx 3060 and it looks like the right fan is blowing out more air, even while not doing any heavy tasks. It seems like it's just working harder than the left one. as long as you don't broke anything, it's fine. but do take note that if the parts that you upgrade makes the laptop damage (e.g. fake ram or bad ssd) they will not cover under warranty. That's the policy in my country, Malaysia. Anyway, it's better to confirm with the company in your region.

Appreciate the video so much. Have to say I agree it is unnecessarily difficult with the vents being part of the lower panel too. Still doubtful about the work performance but gaming is amazing no doubt. Best part I would have to say is cooling coming from a Gigabyte which sat at 90. Also happy that they have the heat sync already attached as my Gigabyte did not have one and that could be a possible reason why my previous expansion SSD shorted.

Dude!!! I was not expecting this, I was sooo happy when I saw your video, I absolutely loved your previous review on the 5 pro, especially that comparison, your content is honestly unmatched. I was wondering which website you got this from? Also, I know you did an indepth review where you answered people’s questions, but one question ive been dying for and couldn’t fins anywhere is usb c charging, like the laptop charge actually go up if we only use the integrated cpu and graphics, or maybe even a little bit of the discrete one? And if so, how long would it take to fully charge. I plan to use this with an apple’s 100w charger aswell, so you having that would be perfect. Keep up the good work bro, i wish you did more laptop reviews, I would definitely watch all of them ❤️

You made it look and sound way to complicated to open this puppy up. I did with only a puck from ifixit, easy. And as long as you do it easy nothing will brake. Lenovo actually made a solid and tight closed, but easy to open beast. As long as you know how to do it. It's definitely not harder then a Macbook and neither did Lenovo made it too complicated.
