Ms. Tammy, I absolutely love the mistakes. This is what makes your show worthwhile. We all have missteps in the kitchen. We usually think that makes us sorry cooks and we are tempted to give up and leave the cooking to the more competent. You assure us even the best cooks drop the ball on the rare occasion. Then you show us how to fix the slips. That lets us know there's always a solution so we should keep at it. How wonderful you are.

I have burned my large sauce pan at least 3 times like that! No, I didn't throw away my pan. I soaked it and scrubbed it many times until it came clean. The next time I will try that method with the baking soda and water and put it back on the stove to boil! Thanks for the great tip! Both cakes look just beautiful!

I missed the live broadcast but I just want to pause to say, I haven't seen anyone wash dishes in a bowl since I spent time with my grammy in her kitchen in the old homestead. We pulled water from the well, a bucket at a time, in front of the house for drinking. Whatever came from the tap was for washing. I just really enjoyed seeing you wash those dishes like that, Tammy! Now, onto that coconut cake! .... :)

When I burn stuff in my pan,I pour vinegar in it,bring it to a boil, and then dump in soda. There is a chemical reaction and it bubbles way up. It'll take out the burnt stuff. I usually scrub it with a spatula while it boils. I also have heard that bartenders friend works. Haven't tried that.

Tammy, I had to split this video up for a couple of days to make sure I finished it. And boy you can bet I was going to finish it! You inspire me with bible study, cooking, and baking and so many other ways. You are such a joy to watch and I don't know how you do it. You are amazing!! Those cakes were some kind of beautiful. I have never made a 4 layer cake before. The most challenging cake I have done was a 3 layer square chocolate cake that was so delicious and we made it for Christmas. My mother always made a homemade German chocolate cake that was so darn good. Thank you so much for making these holiday videos. I am behind because of my back and some other issues but hope to get busy soon. I have a procedure scheduled for Monday and I am praying that this gives some relief. Have a wonderful day sweet and talented lady!------------------Tressa Daigle

Asian, Philippine, and Indian grocers always have fresh frozen coconut. You can get it 24/7 365 along with many other goodies like spices, noodles, and unusual meats or cuts of meats. I also found it in Hispanic grocers under the Goya label so if your store carries Goya products look for their coconut. I'veusedmany brands, from all of the above. They all wok great.

Love your videos Tammy. We all make mistakes because that’s real life . We get to doing more than one thing multi tasking and we’ll, par for the core, When I was in my 20’s 34 years ago working for a day care they had cheap junkie nickel pans or what ever and stuff always burnt. No matter what could not get pans cleaned. Then few years later Sad to say but years ago when in my early 30’s when I was melting chocolate I scorched a pan. I was learning. It happens. I had bar keepers friend and was using it on the bottom of stainless steel copper pans and put some inside pan and lo and behold it came clean with elbow grease tho. Tho I’m not a coconut fan the cake does look delicious. Like I said things happen.. oh well….❤️😋

Wow what a marathon of deliciousness! Sorry about your sweet potatoes. I hope that your pan eventually came back to life. I knew of this hack, but it did not work for me. After 3 tries with baking soda I had to say good- bye to it. I don’t have a lot of patience, but in almost every other way, I do love stainless for many things I cook. I have to use stainless when I’m having a good day so I can concentrate on the stove.
