I love low-buys and no-buys! They help us really love and use what we have. I’m officially on a no-buy from Black Friday season to the next Black Friday season. Best prices and all the review videos would have already come out and a year of declutters will help me know what I want to buy by then. For your future video ideas... I love tasteful and positive anti-hauls and I love when people dupe new palettes from their existing collection and share it.

I feel the opposite of you... I love wearing natural makeup when I’m out and about but ever since covid has restricted me to staying at home my makeup has gotten more colourful and experimental and too much. Hahaha

I’ve definitely been experimental throughout this time! I just have come to prefer a lighter complexion look ☺️ i used to be into more full coverage makeup and it just has not been my style/desire lately! im with you on this! since the pandemic, ive been wearing so much less makeup therefore i’m going a no buy for all of 2021. id rather focus on what i have than bring in more and become overwhelmed with it.

I'm so excited for you to do this this year! I am starting a budget for clothing, skincare and make-up as well, for €50 a month. My main goal is to save some money, but also allow myself to have some space to buy things I want/need. I'm usually very strict on myself and rarely allow myself to buy anything other than necessary clothes and skincare, so I hope this budget can help me be more lenient and loving but still have healthy spending habits. Good luck with your low buy! It sounds like a strict plan but I'm sure you can do it! Listening to you it sounds like your mindset is already completely different from the majority of KZbinrs. I'm on a low buy too for 2021 and I'm planning on continuing even beyond that as long as I feel makeup shopping is a problem for me. I have been thinking about my life, my future and my real life goals. And although I do love makeup, it's a dear hobby of mine and I wear it every single day, I don't see makeup being that important to me anymore lets say in 10 years. At least I hope so!

My mindset shifted a lot last year and has been shifting for a few years leading up to this point. It does sound strict but I think it would be good 🤞 but we will see because I have definitely tried No and Low Buys without success in the past. I know what you mean about makeup not being so important in the future, I have no idea what that looks like for me, but I do know I don’t want it to control my life or finances in any way!

I'm on a low buy/no buy this year as well, I used a lot less in 2020 and I'm still wfh this year so I may not be using up much makeup so isn't much point in getting new makeup beyond replacements. Getting a house is so exciting!

It’s great to see more emphasis from beauty KZbinrs on conscious consumption. I think it would be really interesting if you could estimate, based on your project pan/empties experience over the past few years, just how long it takes to go through different products - I know it’ll be different for everyone but it would be really useful to get a real idea of how long each new purchase might be with you for.

Happy new year! And hello from the UK. I'm excited to watch your low buy and the addition of skincare panning will be exciting as well. I have found having photos of my make up collection as the screensaver on my phone has really helped me cut down on make up buying - I have rosacea so am easily drawn in to try every new foundation to cover the redness. I only bought 2 new foundations last year when normally I'd be buying loads. I need to take photos of all my skin care to curb my spending in that area as well - I have way too much skincare. Same theme - will try anything that might help, even when I have products that do already help!

I understand that! I used to have really severe cystic acne so I was buying a lot of foundations and skincare to find the cure! But it was not at all beneficial to me, my concerns or my bank account! I think the photos on your phone sounds like a great solution to remind you what you have! Great idea and solution ☺️

September 2019 I went on a 6 month low buy and then I have been on a no buy since. I have broke it a few times and I am okay with it in comparison to what I KNOW I would have bought if I didn’t put myself on it! I don’t do any updates on it because I never know if people are interested in the video since I never ever post a haul. I have stopped watching hauls for my consumerism heart! I know if I watch people buy things, I want to buy them too 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your video totally makes sense! I plan to do a very similar no buy/low buy year. At this point, I can't think of a single thing that I need (or even want) that I don't already have. I can't imagine new stuff coming out that I can't dupe or mimic in my collection. I do plan to purchase the things I use up that I need (such as mascara...that's honestly all I can foresee running out of that will need to be replaced). Skin care will also be replenished as needed (although I do have a pretty good stash of that as well). As of now, I am planning to MAYBE add some new things if, and only if, I hit pan or totally use up several items in that category. For example, I'm thinking that I'll see if there is anything I feel like I'm missing if I am able to hit pan on 10 eyeshadows. I'm also thinking that I won't need to shop much till Black Friday and holiday sales at the end of the year.
