2021 Mazda Cx-30 Turbo Premium Review - The Answer To Your Complaints!

Just purchased 2022 CX-30 Turbo Premium Soul Red white interior with 2,600 miles yesterday. I also test drove the non turbo. If your a "driver" turbo is the only option. The Adaptive Headlights in conjunction with auto high beams is amazing. Night driving is now lit up like Yankee stadium at all times. Should be mandatory. Would save many lives. Rides like a luxury car. At 80 MPH almost as quiet as a Lincoln Continental. Handles terrific. Plenty of leg room in the rear with the front seats set at the mid-way point. My 6' tall son got in back & his knees were 4" from front seat. Bose stereo sounded rich & deep. Oh yeah, zoom freaking zoom!

@1:43 wrong... as per Dave Coleman vehicle development engineer for Mazda north America said that there is not some sort of sensor that knows the fuel type but its actually the knock sensor that picks up small subtle engine knock and the PCM adjust engine tuning accordingly to prevent engine damage from engine knock.. so you may very well get peak HP numbers in say a cold day when more air can be taken in. So this is where the higher octane fuel will come into play with a higher ignition threshold for full hp numbers especially in a hot or muggy environment where the PCM will hold back engine timing etc because very small amounts of engine knock are detected and is stopped before the engine damage threshold.

so im buying a cx30 premium plus at the end of the year...and ive looked at 50 reviews. this is probably the 2nd best or 3rd best one. very informative, and one day i think youll have 200k subs one day bro. keep it up!

Nice review, I got the Premium Polymetal grey. It's been great so far, fun to drive, good stereo, AWD, turbo, little bit of lift for bumps and stuff. I even took it to the track, it did really well but I didn't push it too much since it's new. There's bit of understeer but you could induce some lift off oversteer for fun. Tracked really well. I was suprised at the stock tires. I think of it as a baby Macan

I’m so envious! I have the regular CX-30 in polymetal and have been trying to upgrade for months. There isn’t a single one available (in any color) in the entire NYC area. Ugh

Dude i went to a mazda dealership a few weeks ago and the guy didn’t even know about the entry level turbo trim. He also said I can get the Turbo with FWD and that’s also not true as well. As long as I can get a good deal though, i rely more on youtube reviewers than car salesman to tell me about cars.

As a fellow Mazda owner myself, I agree with 💯, no annoying start / stop to deal with it and the 6 speed trans is excellent, no hunting for gears and engages immediately. Sound system is great as well. Love my CX9 but may have to consider the CX30 in the future.

The Mazda CX-30 turbos have an excessive oil consumption issue that Mazda is well aware of but have not come up with a fix as of May 2022.

One correction, Mazda does have start/stop, they call it i-stop and it's in basic eq for all models

It looks like you're from Chicagoland? If you are, there's some really nice curvy scenic roads southeast of Aurora, River Road is one of my favorite of the region! Another good curvy road is 87th St. in Naperville. It's by RTE 59. Both are great places to test the cornering limits!

It dies not have a sensor on the fuel sistem. I uses a knock senaor to retard ignitionthis knocking point is going to depend on octane, temperature, altitude, engine load, engine contion...

I have an xc-30 turbo premium, engine: 2.5L SKYACTIV-G Turbo. Does this use regular or premium gas?

You need to use premium if you do not want any problems or carbon buildup.This engine is better built to use regular but why would you want to retard HP on something like this.BTW putting regular in it slows it down everywhere--when it has to keep retarding the timing to adjust for bad gas--it makes everything slower including the shifts on the transmission.I have one of these and after my 2nd tank of 93 gas the vehicle was noticeably faster and it shifted smoother and got off the line quicker.Also at its HP and torque--you would need to get a german CUV and spend 15k more to get near this.
