So, two weeks ago I traded my 2012 Rogue SV (with 47k miles) in for a 2021 Platinum. It was a hard decision because of the low miles and nice to not have a car payment. I also had no mechanical issues whatsoever, because I properly maintain my vehicles. But I started think about it, and when I saw the incredible upgrade in styling and features, decided to go for it. Holy Cow - this new Rogue is AMAZING!! I feel like I left behind the Fred Flintstone Mobile for the Jetson's Spaceship!!! It is truly beautiful inside and out, and I have not even taken advantage of all the features yet. I got a great deal, and could not be happier!! Definitely pulled the trigger at the right time.

I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 210,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.

I believe you guys are the best reviewers on KZbin. You don.t rush through but rather go at a steady pace and describe most everything. You don't jerk the camera around, and take great shots from all perspectives. It's a real help when you always describe what features come with each body style. Excellence...thanks.

This review is very good. I test drove a CR-V and a Rogue ( top trims on both ) this past weekend and was expecting the Honda to be far superior. I was dead wrong. The interior of the Rogue blows the CR-V's out of the water, not to mention the RAV4's. What shocked me was the Rogue also drove better. It was far more nimble and acceleration was about equal. The CVT in the Rogue feels way better than the previous generation. Nissan did a lot of work on this redesign and it paid off. If the company continues improving their products as much as they improved this model they will be very competitive again.

Good review and a nice vehicle but my complaint (all new vehicles are doing this now) is the electronic shifters. I am old fashioned and like KNOWING by the shift indent what gear I am in and shifting to. I bought a new 18 RAV4 XLE hybrid and one of the main reasons is it has the old style shift pattern where you manually operate the shifter through all the gears. Like I said this is not a knock on the new Rogue as it looks like a really good vehicle but just a comment in general for al vehicles.I turned down buying a BMW X3 because of their electronic shifter. Consumer Reports complained about them and said it was a safety factor.

It looks good, if a little strong swerve in design towards the Korean and Chinese models. But the definition of insanity is doing the same thing (“mandating CVT to own a Nissan”) over and over again while expecting different results from “WE HATE YOUR CVT AND WANT YOU TO OFFER ALTERNATIVES TO IT” from the public. I have never seen a manufacturer ignore the opinion of their customers the way I have seen with Nissan and this substandard, unreliable transmission. Everything they promised us about CVT technology (less expensive to manufacture, easier to repair, cheaper to replace, more reliable, etc) has been a bald faced lie. Why are other manufacturers going to 10+ speed conventional automatics, if the way of the future is CVT? Six ratios is more than most drivers need anyway. I swear it feels to me, like people are trying to make internal combustion vehicles so terrible, that everybody just switches to electric. The Nissan Qashqi (out of the park best seller) is available in other markets with a 6-speed manual, as well as a DCT Getrag box of some kind, in addition to that damnable CVT that everyone complains about. Why don’t we have a choice? The USA used to offer more options, colors (inside and out), trim, engines, transmissions, suspensions, than anyone else. We pay more for this vehicle than almost anyone else. Why is a cutting edge vehicle like this only available in the USA with a transmission that the majority doesn’t like, and will never like? Thus ends my final rant on Nissan, Jatco, and CVT’s in general. Thanks for a great review of a car which could have been great, but (again) fell short.

Most car brands are heading in the cvt direction. Myself i got a 4 cylinder cvt which does fun, you will love the fuel mileage and a different company makes the cvt apart from jatco and have been reliable for the last 7 years or so. While nissans are not great cvt wise, other manufacturers are doing cvt but with different companies like aisin.

I noticed the red line on the altima is at 6700 rpm and it produces 188hp. They should have improved the engine on the rogue and given it at least 191 hp or even 204 hp. There are 2.4 litre engines like the ILX that make that kind of power. I have an MDX with a 3.5 and 300hp but with 4 passengers and some luggage it is underpowered. I think the Rav4 prime is the standout in the segment, better than a highlander or an MDX even.

The only unfortunate thing about the rogue is that it doesn't offer a lot of drive train options. Toyota offers, Hybrid, Plugin Hybrid along with the standard 8 speed automatic. Honda offers the turbo charged CVT along with the Hybrid system while Nissan just offers this CVT engine. Although it does have one of the best interiors and an upscale look, I just don't think it is enough to take the market share from either of the automotive kings.

UGH... Enough with the split front lighting elements. Beyond that, a very nice improvement with the only thing I found a little odd is the shape of the 9 & 3 spokes on the steering wheel...very 80s vibe. In a perfect world Nissan would at least offer a traditional modern multi speed automatic (one can only wish 😉)
