I cut out my talking points about the Taycan's charging times for the sake of brevity in this review. But to share the details here, the Taycan uses an 800V electrical architecture, meaning the charge times are some of the fastest in the industry. Porsche claim 5%-80% recharge takes less than 25 minutes with the optional AC On-Board Charger and the 150kW DC charger selected. Using the 3 year free charging plan with Electrify Canada stations, I confidently support these claims. I received the Taycan with approx 150kms of charge, and took it to 80% (300kms indicated) before spending my week living with it. - Max

The Taycan definitely does have regenerative braking. In fact it’s more that I believe any other EV. Though the amount you get when lifting off the accelerator is very minor, using the brake pedal does blended braking as most any EV except Tesla. The Taycan can brake up to 0.4G with only regen. I have driven the car for 25,000 miles. The fact that you don’t think of it as blended braking shows how well Porsche has tuned the braking system. They are completely confidence inspiring.

The Taycan is an exceptional DRIVER’s car, designed for world class handling, meticulous build quality inside and out that effortlessly delivers a car enthusiast’s ultimate driving experience. Let’s please agree that the Taycan is on a whole different level than anything produced by Tesla and stop comparing them.

People should stop comparing Porsche Taycan to TESLA S. No one really compares a 911 to Corvette., Mustang etc. They are not even the same type of car. You don't buy a Porsche for GAS mileage or in this case EV range. It is bought for performance. If you want range buy a TESLA 3. Or in the case of a 911 if you want gas mileage buy a MAZDA MIATA

Exactly! Well said.

I stopped watching your video when you claimed that the Taycan does no regenerative breaking. This is totally wrong. The Taycan does regenerative breaking, it can recharge the battery while breaking at a rate of 265 kW which is an industry record afaik.

Great review as always and I wish I had a chance to test such a Porsche 'cause recently I ve' had a test drive in Volkswagen id3 , my first EV in my life, and though the performance of id3 is far less impressive then the Porsch I was impressed with merely 120 HP while accelerating.

The extra power and torque with the larger battery is tuned to give exactly the same performance, so no advantage there. The range difference is 30 miles and costs an extra £4k (UK). Also the larger battery is considerably heavier and will therefore use more juice to 'lug' it around. (it's just physics). The Taycan has a lot of regen, (see Max comment below) but only when the brakes are applied. A lot of reviewers don't seem to get these points!

Actually slightly faster in the quarter mile and while rolling with the PB+ but who’s keeping track

This is not entirely correct, there are differences - also when you test them I do feel its noticable - porsche publishes different specs for the 4S with battery pack plus. On e. Also, there is in fact a regen button if you want it.
