That is the funny part. Alot of people would likely be shocked to learn that the 'fake' engine nose actually isn't. That this is the sound of this very motor, dialed up a ton. Thank you for the canyon carving experience! It's clear the car handles exceptionally well, and indeed there is little use for more power. It looks like Porsche has carved out a niche in the EV space where many others have failed, and that's awesome! I suspect the 203 mile EPA rating is for the smaller battery pack. And of course real world range will be reduced with larger wheels and/or grippier tires. So it's not as crazy as it looks, but it's still disappointing that they chose the easier but less accurate method for computing their EPA rating.

Curious, how does Porsche maintain power throughout the battery state of charge? Did Porsche comment on this? Is it the 800 volt system, cooling, software? I typically see full power from 100%-75% in my M3P then it slow gets a little less fast from 70%-20% then starts pulling more power under that. You are on probably fairly narrow tyres (to help achieve the long km range) and i bet that car weighs a lot. fair play to Porsche to get it so manoeuverable, which shows, because you are asking a lot of a heavy car to tank it round the bends without squealing. you cant have the weight and the speed and the narrow tyres without the squeal unless porsche got their systems to cut-in and forcibly trim your speed on the corners. Fortunately they don't, so drivers are free to cover the whole range - 'not squeal, 'squeal', and then 'hedge'!! @@TheSmokingTire Totally agree.....I got the first one in TX in Jan, and it just blew me away. It was hilarious running down Z06s and 911s on the straights at CoTA, and its natural cruising speed is at least 100 mph. Unlike my Model 3 Performance, the brakes held up well on track too.

Its not fake noise. It is called the “turbo” and batteries were name after and array of cannons. So are batteries not actually batteries?

Man that launch looked pretty quick and it's not even the turbo...

Yes, but 12.2s 1/4 sucks for a car costing over $100k. And I know those figures are most likely conservative. But even if it reaches the 1/4 in 11.7s, there are several sedans right now that can accomplish the feat for far less.

Tyran Mathurin when has Porsche ever tried to compete with mainstream brands in straight line performance per dollar?

Full speed on the Autobahn or the Highway the car should play the full StarWars March and when you pass a car it should make the sound of a lightsaber. :-D
