This is one of those Trucks where, as a Truck Fan, YOU DON'T CARE how pricey it is, how 'Impractical' it is, or even how much it 'doesn't make sense' to buy one. Like the Raptor, You Buy this because you want to drive the Biggest, Baddest Truck on the Block (Even if all you're doing with it is taking it to the Goddamn Walmart every week to build your ego or piss off the neighbors). The 6.2L Supercharged V8 was one of the Smartest Decisions that FCA has done this Decade. This Engine TRUMPS anything Ford can do with their Raptor Engines, Especially Since Ford made it clear that the Raptor with the Supercharged V8 would be a LIMITED Release. My Question though is on Reliability, and it has been FCA's Achilles Heel the Last Decade or Two. Will this Truck Hold up in terms of Longevity? The RAM TRX may be impressive now, but will it be in 3-5 Years Time? Will people still be railing about this supposed 'Masterpiece' of Truck? Or will it end up in the Dump like RAM's many other Trucks? Only Time will tell. Appreciate the Work guys! Keep it Up!

Being large and in charge took some guts from Ram, but they certainly backed it up. She's thirsty for sure(however, the 6.2L Raptor was 11/14 with only 411hp, so Ram offering nearly 300hp more returning the same mileage is an astonishing feat), but the trade-off is an astonishingly powerful truck with many tricks up its sleeve. It's amazing to see the definition of "excess" changes with each tech and machinery process improvement. I would be so bold to draw the parallal between vehicles such as the raptor and the trx as the luxo barges from the 60s and 70s.. The giant 20 foot 2 door personal luxury cars that sorta wafted over the road. It's excessive but people wanted that.

Raptor, is 14k cheaper base and its show it can survive the Baja 1000 at 100mph with just bigger fuel tank and roll cage

I'm sure all the bros driving to Wal-Mart are going to love this! I laugh at all the Raptors I see with tire shine, off-road lights everywhere that spend 99% of their life on the road. LOL!!

If that bit about the spring manufacturers is true and not just marketing BS, that would be a cynically bad example of end-stage capitalism, when scarcity and efficiency-obsession has gotten so bad that an automotive spring manufacturer cannot make one that's a bit bigger than usual and progressively wound.
@adamreznik63743 жыл бұрын
I'm sure it's just a marketing lie. No one really believes they couldn't have waited another 6 months and spent a little bit more money to get the correct coil springs. Instead, some moron VP placed an arbitrary calendar limit and cost limit on this truck. It resulted in an arbitrary corner being cut. Are we to believe the market for this truck couldn't wait a few more months and make it a $91,000 truck instead of $90,000? This is E-suite mental midgetry, plain & simple.

I appreciate that you gents are still able to keep the comedy segments going especially considering that you only had a few hours to shoot this truck. Your guys’ dedication to the formula is awesome which makes me look forward to watching these videos on every lunch break. Keep it up!

I love the thing, but holy crap, $90,000 for a pickup truck? That's insane, no matter how awesome it is. On a positive note, FCA products depreciate FAST, so you'll easily be able to pick one of these up at half that price within a few years. Maybe even just a couple of years. Edit: I know they've made Ram a brand of its own, rather than a "Dodge Ram," but it's still part of FCA, isn't it? I assume so (not 100% sure)

I do that stuff all the time in my stock jeep wrangler (made by Maserati and Ferrari not Chrysler anymore) Everything you’ve ever known about Chrysler is completely different because they’re completely new company with those six-figure luxury engineers doing everything

The caveat of “if you have a warranty if you buy it or lease it, you’re gonna be so happy,” is that in reference to long-term reliability? That’s the one thing I’ve been mulling over...I want one, but plan on keeping it for 10-15 years and over 100,000 miles. I wonder how it’s reliability would be over such a span? Never owned an FCA product, but seriously digging the TRX!

I LOVE IT!!!! It looks like so much fun!!!! I LOVE THE METALLIC BLUE!!!! SUGGESTION: Please consider building a 2WD version and call it the TRX REDEYE. Just like the REDEYE Challenger. With a T-56. option.

A few years ago the high end pickup truck was $45,000. Now its $90,000?! My wages haven’t doubled so since I couldn’t afford it before, I definitely can’t afford this one either. Ridiculous.

It's refreshing when you and Jack do the segments when you're in the vehicle together, and your knowledge bases are separate, but also complimentary, yet there is never any feeling of one-upmanship - the editorializing is spot on and ego is never allowed to seep in. It makes for excellent content. Thank you.
