I was given a Raptor for 2 weeks as a rental last fall. I would have said Exxon Valdez lol I could tell the gear the transmission was in by looking at the instantaneous MPG on the dash. 1st gear = 1mpg 2nd gear = 2mpg 3rd gear = 3mpg ..... I averaged 14mpg on the highway. First time I've ever had a rental that got WORSE mileage than my track car 😳 I can only imagine what the TRX model would drink.

Imagine how safe we would be if ISIS switched to any FCA product. They would no longer be mobile when they needed to be. And hitting a stationary target is easier than one that has the ability to move. At the very least, we would have plenty of time and more opportunities to plant an explosive at the repair shop. And an FCA vehicle that self destructs wouldn't even be viewed as abnormal for the product. They would brush it off as "it happened again". Not a good truck for off road. Its extremely heavy and there's a KZbin post of this truck practically shattering it's rear window, tailgate breaking and front bumper broken after what you say it's born for abuse. Now if you just love the "Ram" truck then it is a crazy badass truck but it may be best for ROAD CONDITIONS and maybe some Gravel Flat roads only. 0-60mph in how many seconds? Here’s my problem with Dodge/Chrysler. They make awesome fast vehicles, but their warranty dept leaves a LOT to be desired. Look at all the videos when youtubers bought all those expensive Challengers and how many took them to the dealership and they would refuse to fix the supercharger bearings cause they had cold air intakes. Any idiot knows that’s an aftermarket air filter would now wear out a supercharger bearing at less than 40,000 miles. They just didn’t want to fix them. And this is not new. In 1999 my auto mechanics teach worked for an arbitration company get people’s trucks fixed when dodge wouldn’t fix things under warranty. So I would never drop a ton of money on a dodge product. It’s indicative of their whole mindset of how they don’t care about their customers.

I get it that this truck is expensive, a halo product with tons of performance. at basically 7mpg, your paying fuel costs out the wazoo, me personally I would not want to pay $400 in fuel costs a month. I think ill wait for electric trucks to make their debut, even if they were somehow more expensive than this, those fuel costs add up, meanwhile electric will be far, far cheaper in total operating costs. The Hummer Ev even being like 20k more expensive for its top trim starts to seem reasonable when you start to factor in costs of oil changes, filter and the whole gas station you will drain in fuel costs. Not only that the Hummer Ev and even Teslas Cybertruck would put this to shame, so it really seems like a bad buy to me.

No doubt this is one powerful beast and will destroy any stock truck on the pavement. However in my humble opinion....off roading in this thing will not hold together because it extremely heavy and those shocks will not hold up. Raptor will eat this thing off roading and survive the abuse because of lighter weight. If dodge can figure out how to keep this thing in one piece off roading they will be king.

I think we will get longer reviews when spring comes and they get back to doing cars that they are passionate about. Harder to do the longer videos on some of the vehicles lately because it's winter outside and the cars/trucks they're doing are not quite as interesting as what we'll get in spring and summer.

@@R.London I mean, the bulk of what was missing here was interior discussion (details about the fit-and-finish, the audio, infotainment, etc.), but that's because they've already gone into that with their other 5th-gen 1500 videos.

Its extremely difficult towards this time of year to shoot. From a practical perspective standing outside for hours in sub zero nasty weather to get mediocre shots is not a good use of time. Some of it is car selection. Like the Nissan kicks. No normal shopper will watch a 30 min video on that car, and most subscribers don't either. So at least right now they are shorter.
