Okay so I had read so many bad things about the 2.0 feeling so slow etc. But a coworker of mine has one and I drove it and obviously it's not a speedster but it moved just fine. People are expecting even subcompact vehicles to have performance numbers rivaling low end sports cars... its just not logical. These are great little rigs

Exactly what I'd expect the owner of a slow car to say.

@@kimballwhite I mean I'd hardly say my Mazda6 Turbo is slow 😂. Based on your comment on another user you drive a Mazda3 Turbo. So same engine as my 6. My Durango was a V6 almost 5k pound suv though so it wasn't a rocket but plenty for the size of SUV it was.

Well--I think it's still worth it to option the 2.5

The 6 speed manual adds a BIG dose of enjoyment to the Crosstrek. That's the one to get.

I much prefer this over the Mazda cx 30. The cross trek looks more rugged, much nicer interior, the best thing, it has a cvt😊
@kimballwhite2 жыл бұрын
I find that funny, I own a Mazda3 Turbo (smaller CX-30) and it is quiet, powerful, and has a MUCH better interior than Subaru's hard, plasticky interiors. Claiming that Subaru makes the better interior is a complete lie. I don't have a CVT, either. 😄

I'm guessing that you wanted a CX-30 and had to rationalize the decision to get a worse car?
@edison7139 Жыл бұрын
@@kimballwhite its about the same price so why would he need to rationalize things, I too does not like the design and quality of mazda cx30, too pretentious to my liking

Everything nice and kosher, but oh gosh, this automatic slushbox, I feel sorry for the engine when it moans from one gear to another. Nice sound inside though. Calm, serene. And if I heard correctly, this car has a mechanical handbrake. Very good, Subaru. Thank you for this video!
@rturner42053 жыл бұрын
This is a CVT. It fake shifts to assure people that they won't blow the engine up by keeping at one sustained rpm. It's great for my mom who isn't a car enthusiast, but I know what it is. 30 MPG in a subaru also isn't bad. But when the car isn't real warm, the already slow legacy feels dangerously slow.

Subaru has certainly had its controversies. Fourteen consecutive years of blown head gaskets (with no recalls or admissions of guilt), then the oil consumption issues, the CVT transmission issues - I have very little trust in the company (though they really nailed it with their marketing to families, with the little children and puppies and safety bleatings).

@@kenhoward3512 yeah I owned 9 over the decades And I remember going to 3 different dealers for my wrx and they did consumption test. Try telling me quart of oil every 800 miles was normal for brand new car lol. Left in 2020 to Toyota and never looked back
