I am from Sweden, and my mother works as a paramedic and was stationed at military bases a few times several years ago, and she was sometimes given unused rations, and then gave them to me. FRHs are insufficient if you are in the Arctic, so boiling the rations to heat them is usually done. You need a fire source for colder months anyways. Though that dont mean stuff always gets cooked all the way trough. Vivid memories of eating fish in Tomato sauce with half-cooked rice in -25 degree weather. Good times. We still use FRHs but it's mostly specialist roles.

Steve you are ridiculous my dude, you can read any language out there as long as it is on a ration pack, not only that but I just now googled for "Swedish ration" since I sort of thought you never did a video on one, and you literally just upload one right as I search for it, you're a legend my man. vi älskar dig

I don't even care about MRE's, Steve just makes them so interesting and I get excited every time a new video is uploaded.

thats so awesoome you added the peanuts to it. I was looking at the tray spread as you were eating the curry and I was thinking what it would be like if you added the peanuts to it as I often see you mix and match your foods then you did and said it paired nicely and with the fruit chews. always a pleasure to watch these vids!

I love how positive Steve is. "Nice color!" is what he says after opening a pack of gum that had the same color of the vomit my dog produced on my living room carpet this morning after eating grass in the backyard. Thank you for the great videos!

The Mexican casserole having a sweet tomato sauce is in line with the other Mexican food I’ve had in Stockholm, sweet tomatoey mayonnaise is usually on offer.
