Purchased one roughly a year ago, and it is by far one of the nicest vehicles I've personally had the pleasure of calling my own. If you're considering this or a RAV4, go for it. Just be aware the Venza has 0 towing capabilities so if you want to enjoy the outdoors and haul some things behind you, then the RAV4 is where you'll be happy. If your more like me and your car is a pavement queen, then the Venza should make you very happy.

I think this car fixes many of the gripes people have with the Rav4, in terms of the interior. I think Toyota is aiming for the RAV4 being the more rugged crossover and the Venza being the more luxurious option. I’ve been inside a new Venza and I can say from experience, the interior materials are way nicer than the materials used inside the RAV4. Also it’s much quieter and the suspension is softer.

Great video guys. One caveat: It is a disservice for Toyota to even refer to its transmission as an eCVT, especially since a standard CVT typically has a belt that is basically designed to wear out. Toyota has been perfecting its hybrid drivetrain system for 25 years now and the gearbox is just that. Full of gears which are solid and well built. I do agree with most drivers on the panoramic sunroof. It's kind of gimmicky and not opening kind of sucks. Also if you want to haul something on the roof you can't get roof rails if you have the panoramic sunroof. This car is way quieter than a RAV4. The sound system sounds better even if both have the JBL. The seats are much more comfortable also, and the ride is smoother. It's truly an adult car. Much less utilitarian than a RAV4, but if I need utilitarian I'll jump into either a hybrid Highlander or even a hybrid Sienna. Tonight during a late night cruise of about 12 miles with minimal traffic I averaged 63.9 mpg! When I first bought the car last January we received about a 9-in snow locally. Couldn't resist testing the all-wheel drive. It had no trouble at all so I took it to a parking lot and tried to make it get squirrely testing how fast the computer would send power to the electric motor driving the rear wheels and I simply could not get it to misbehave and that was with stock all season tires on it. If one lived in northern climes and put snow tires on it in the winter it would have no trouble at all. I also love all the standard safety features except for the lane departure system which became really annoying so I hardly ever use it. I went ahead and put a full-blown hitch on it instead of their accessory hitch that's only supposed to be used for bike racks. Toyota doesn't say it, but it's basically got the same towing capacity of a RAV4 since it's the same chassis. Great fuel economy, near legendary Toyota reliability, basically an entry level Lexus. My kids are grown otherwise I would have looked at a sienna or Highlander hybrid. In my opinion this is a big step up from a RAV4. You do lose a little bit of functionality for the comfort level but for me it was an easy choice. It's basically an entry-level Lexus for about $17 Grand less than a Lexus. A RAV4 isn't anywhere close to a Lexus.

My fuel tank door recently stopped opening (heard it's a common issue). I have almost 60k miles on it now. I also wish the radio had a "scan" button to search for stations while driving. The fake driving lights were pointed out and these and other cost cutting measures are found throughout… everything is just cheap cheap but looks fantastic. Looks don’t translate into owner pride…another example I remember .. those seat heater buttons..worse than a child’s toy, cheesy carpet..on and on. Well anyway, super quality car but I’ve conveyed my own experience. ( last note..I had the opaque moonroof…it defaults to off and you have to push the button every time you start the car..super annoying and after 2 days I kept the shade closed and never saw it again. Oh one more, lol. The monitor rear view mirror cannot “see” a half opened garage door from three feet away because the camera is mounted off-site. Another thing never used and risky. I currently have a 2019 GTI and a I sold my 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan to Carmax with low miles for a ridiculously good amount of money since the pandemic has changed the new car inventory. I think I won. I’m happy.

I speak from experience of being a two time Venza owner and I was contemplating becoming one for the third time but Toyota totally missed that up, the New Venza lacks the Classy look that the Venza is known for not to mention the space on the inside is smaller somethings shouldn't change perhaps the Technology but not the Regal look of the vehicle; I was totally disappointed and the Salesperson convinced me to take a test drive in hopes of changing my mind but I could not get past the appearance of my favorite car because I am a Toyota Fan (all my vehicles have been Toyota but now BMW will most likely be it for me somethings should just be left alone. Who wants a Rav4 look alike, really Toyota the Venza was in a class of its own.

I kind of disagree, the older venzas look to me more on the side of mini vans and look basic inside. However the newer ones I think look sleek from the SIDE and almost look like a lexus, but from the front and back they're narrow looking and not as attractive. Inside looks nicer than the old venzas I think. The biggest difference is that they're smaller/narrower than the older venzas but I wouldn't say it's the styling. Just my opinion

@@curlygurlxo agree, the older model venza to me is ugly. This new venza is classic and beautiful and remind me of Lexus.

I love mine but the negatives are the horizontal strip tail lights aren't very attractive, the low blinkers, the hybrid whistle at low speeds make dogs turn and stare lol and kind of slow acceleration. The car looks 10/10 from the side profile but to me almost a 4/10 from the front and back..super narrow looking

We have the same car! Only in Blue. It's a great vehicle, but too much ROAD NOISE! It is TERRIBLE! TOYOTA needs to do something with the ROAD NOISE, as on some roads, conversation is difficult.
I just test drove one and i am 5' 11 and i can say stay away from this suv , just getting into this suv you have to duck to get in the front seats to get in , the back seats my head touches the roof.. nice design but ... only if your short

Would you mind comparing this to the Hyundai Tucson ??
@greymatterr113 жыл бұрын
The Tucson compares more to the Rav4. The Venza is shorter and interior space is smaller.

Major fail: the Venza is not rated for towing, while the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid which shares the same platform can tow close to 2,000 pounds. That defeats the purpose of a crossover/SUV. It’s supposed to be the 21st century station wagon.

They stopped for the same reason they discontinued the Prius 5. Just plain stupid. If they made the Prius 5 SUV I would buy another today. Wonderful car and hard to find on the used car market.
