Purchased one roughly a year ago, and it is by far one of the nicest vehicles I've personally had the pleasure of calling my own. If you're considering this or a RAV4, go for it. Just be aware the Venza has 0 towing capabilities so if you want to enjoy the outdoors and haul some things behind you, then the RAV4 is where you'll be happy. If your more like me and your car is a pavement queen, then the Venza should make you very happy.

I think this car fixes many of the gripes people have with the Rav4, in terms of the interior. I think Toyota is aiming for the RAV4 being the more rugged crossover and the Venza being the more luxurious option. I’ve been inside a new Venza and I can say from experience, the interior materials are way nicer than the materials used inside the RAV4. Also it’s much quieter and the suspension is softer.

As a first time mom- I bought a 2021 xle rav4, not much features but it serves great to fit stroller boxes of diapers& wipes 👍🏼. I just wish it looked as luxurious as this, keep in mind I got it last may, our dealerships didn’t have much options since they didn’t have cars. Today I went in for an oil change and they tried to get me into a venza.. i loved absolutely everything about it, I was thinking of the cargo area which seems smaller… such a hard decision but we are trying to get a new house so we’re ok with our rav4!!!

Great video guys. One caveat: It is a disservice for Toyota to even refer to its transmission as an eCVT, especially since a standard CVT typically has a belt that is basically designed to wear out. Toyota has been perfecting its hybrid drivetrain system for 25 years now and the gearbox is just that. Full of gears which are solid and well built. I do agree with most drivers on the panoramic sunroof. It's kind of gimmicky and not opening kind of sucks. Also if you want to haul something on the roof you can't get roof rails if you have the panoramic sunroof. This car is way quieter than a RAV4. The sound system sounds better even if both have the JBL. The seats are much more comfortable also, and the ride is smoother. It's truly an adult car. Much less utilitarian than a RAV4, but if I need utilitarian I'll jump into either a hybrid Highlander or even a hybrid Sienna. Tonight during a late night cruise of about 12 miles with minimal traffic I averaged 63.9 mpg! When I first bought the car last January we received about a 9-in snow locally. Couldn't resist testing the all-wheel drive. It had no trouble at all so I took it to a parking lot and tried to make it get squirrely testing how fast the computer would send power to the electric motor driving the rear wheels and I simply could not get it to misbehave and that was with stock all season tires on it. If one lived in northern climes and put snow tires on it in the winter it would have no trouble at all. I also love all the standard safety features except for the lane departure system which became really annoying so I hardly ever use it. I went ahead and put a full-blown hitch on it instead of their accessory hitch that's only supposed to be used for bike racks. Toyota doesn't say it, but it's basically got the same towing capacity of a RAV4 since it's the same chassis. Great fuel economy, near legendary Toyota reliability, basically an entry level Lexus. My kids are grown otherwise I would have looked at a sienna or Highlander hybrid. In my opinion this is a big step up from a RAV4. You do lose a little bit of functionality for the comfort level but for me it was an easy choice. It's basically an entry-level Lexus for about $17 Grand less than a Lexus. A RAV4 isn't anywhere close to a Lexus.

I really like mine too. Also due to regenerative braking if one were to keep their car long enough to need a new battery not having to pay for brakes basically covers the cost of the battery replacement. This is SO much more of an adult ride over a RAV4. Although I've pulled off some pretty amazing MPG numbers I'm only averaging around Toyotas quoted number of 39 mpg. Even if one were to drive in sport mode continuously and drive it like a drunken teenager you will still get 37. 😂

The cargo area could be larger than now but as long as the second row is foldable, it has not been a big issue for me at all. As an update to my previous review, I still love mine but some things to add. Wind noise can be annoying and mine has started to get some type of rattle or knocking at high speed and not sure what from. The wireless phone charging port area doesn't work well/at all. My fuel tank door recently stopped opening (heard it's a common issue). I have almost 60k miles on it now. I also wish the radio had a "scan" button to search for stations while driving. All it has is "seek" where you literally have to press it forward to go to every single next station and who wants to do that. Other than that it drives nice, has awesome fuel economy, feels nice inside compared to rav4 which to me feels more basic/plastic/sporty.

I don't know how manufactures get away with putting crucial lights like reverse and turn signals in the bottom of the bumper. Especially if you're driving a vehicle that sits high, you may completely not see it and be caught off guard when someone merges or backs up simply because their lights are in a stupid location.

A wonderful car..I owned a Limited Venza version, however very cheap and plasticky ( a RAV4 is a RAV4 ) . I traded mine and found the newest and redesigned and re-thought ACURA’S are true quality and fun fun power. Venza was pitiful slow but had super mileage. The fake driving lights were pointed out and these and other cost cutting measures are found throughout… everything is just cheap cheap but looks fantastic. Looks don’t translate into owner pride…another example I remember .. those seat heater buttons..worse than a child’s toy, cheesy carpet..on and on. Well anyway, super quality car but I’ve conveyed my own experience. ( last note..I had the opaque moonroof…it defaults to off and you have to push the button every time you start the car..super annoying and after 2 days I kept the shade closed and never saw it again. Oh one more, lol. The monitor rear view mirror cannot “see” a half opened garage door from three feet away because the camera is mounted off-site. Another thing never used and risky. Camera mirror also does not work with eyeglass wearers (progressives). Bottom line….super quality and will last forever ; it’s nice Toyota offers this for those not wanting to spend Lexus money.

Acura is a premium brand not a luxury brand like Lexus. It’s a common misperception but you can search and see they seek different markets. Toyota and within their line-up target the widest range of non- luxury from their discontinued Avalon to their $100k land cruiser. They did a great job with the Venza I think but stopped short of hiding it’s RAV4 truth. Great car. Didn’t mean to offend anyone.

@@DMAX-ed7pq I’ve had my Venza Limited since end of May. Just completed a 2600 mile round trip to the east coast. The highway mileage is as noted by Toyota. I averaged 38.7 mpg for the trip. The problem is the range. I could only get a max of 415 miles out of a tank @ 10.7 gallons at empty. Toyota claims the tank is 14.5 gallons but I’ve yet to put in more than 11.3 gallons. The cars been back to the dealer twice for this and each time, they claim everything checks out? I’ve opened up a case with Toyota corporate AND I’m not the only Venza owner with this issue. Be aware of this because it’s a problem that Toyota had with the RAV4 hybrid 2019-2021 and Toyota replaced the gas tank on some Venzas. I’m sure if enough owners complain, eventually it will be recalled. Hope this helps.

@med Becuz the frosty moonroof is a $1500 dollar option. It doesn't come standard with any package. It's strictly an option. Also... The heads up display (HUD) is optional on the limited. It comes with the optional convenience package that also includes auto rain sensing wipers. Enjoy your Limited. The sunroof and auto wipers aren't really necessary. Although they are nice on a rainy evening.

While this is a nice CUV, there are better vehicles out there for the money rather than RAV4 upgrade. Average American driving less than 30 mi a day. So paying extra money for this upgraded rav4 with mediocre driving experience is not worth it.

@@clapon1907 I drove the CR-V but as a young guy I didn’t think I’d like the styling after a couple months. I preferred styling and interior and steering and mainly no CVT in the Mazda. I got the ventilated seats and heated steering wheel and Heads Up Display as well as heated back seat, and heated windshield and Wi-Fi hotspot and parchment leather amongst other goodies for $32,700 and the dealer paid for my TT&L because they made some mistakes on my paperwork and I had to drive back several times to sign the contract again. I’m very happy except some minor details, there is no light in the glovebox. The seats are a little hard for my taste, and the brakes aren’t near as quick and grippy as any of my Volkswagen products. I currently have a 2019 GTI and a I sold my 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan to Carmax with low miles for a ridiculously good amount of money since the pandemic has changed the new car inventory. I think I won. I’m happy.

I speak from experience of being a two time Venza owner and I was contemplating becoming one for the third time but Toyota totally missed that up, the New Venza lacks the Classy look that the Venza is known for not to mention the space on the inside is smaller somethings shouldn't change perhaps the Technology but not the Regal look of the vehicle; I was totally disappointed and the Salesperson convinced me to take a test drive in hopes of changing my mind but I could not get past the appearance of my favorite car because I am a Toyota Fan (all my vehicles have been Toyota but now BMW will most likely be it for me somethings should just be left alone. Who wants a Rav4 look alike, really Toyota the Venza was in a class of its own.

I kind of disagree, the older venzas look to me more on the side of mini vans and look basic inside. However the newer ones I think look sleek from the SIDE and almost look like a lexus, but from the front and back they're narrow looking and not as attractive. Inside looks nicer than the old venzas I think. The biggest difference is that they're smaller/narrower than the older venzas but I wouldn't say it's the styling. Just my opinion

Major fail: the Venza is not rated for towing, while the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid which shares the same platform can tow close to 2,000 pounds. That defeats the purpose of a crossover/SUV. It’s supposed to be the 21st century station wagon.
