As always, thanks for the info Jeff. I used CRC chlorinated brake cleaner. It is the RED can! Not the green can. No need to buy the fancy bob smith stuff, and you can always use the brake cleaner for other tasks. The white thread locker dissolved after I soaked it about 3 times over the course of about 3 hours. Worked perfectly. It came right out with a T10 torx bit. Cheers all!

First off, I want to say this post is not about blaming anyone but rather sharing my experience that hopefully will help others My 2020 KTM 300 xc w has 195 hours and until recently idled good enough to "get by", so I never updated the idle screw. After watching another video that used Uncure on the OEM screw without removing the throttle body, I tried that method but couldn't get the OEM idle screw out even with soaking the screw regularly for 3 days using Uncure. After 3 days still couldn't get the screw out so went riding with some buddies yesterday. Rode up the first hill with a 180-degree turn at the top into a steep downhill. Went into the turn chopped throttle and the bike died, fell downhill landing face-first into rocks. Lost motor control of arms and hands for about 60 seconds, and first thought was ""oh shift this is the big one". Regained control of my arms and hands and my riding buddies helped me get up and walked back to the truck. Went to ER with some weird symptoms in both arms. Diagnosis is contusion of the spinal cord, C3/4 disc HNP, Neck Strain/Sprian, compression fracture at T11. My recommendation is DO NOT put off doing the Idle screw mod with heat per Jeff's video!!!! The good news is that I now time to fix the idle screw and to straighten up my garage before I trip and break a leg!!! Never stop riding!!! Cheers!!!

Tried the uncure. Let it soak heavily for four days. Wasn’t even close to budging. Ended up pulling out the throttle body and using MAP gas. My grub screw was heavily coated with a white loctite. Maybe some are more heavily coated than others, but I honestly feel that no amount of soaking this would’ve released the screw. Just my experience at least.

The GET instructions are for the GET base maps, not our custom maps and air screw settings varies from bike to bike. Hi from Spain. since I have put the external idler screw I am able to regulate it to my liking. but the consumption of gasoline has skyrocketed... my question is what is it due to? Could it be that the TPS needs to be adjusted? Thank you for all your teachings and I look forward to your response.
@slaverace12 жыл бұрын
Hello: The idle screw has nothing to do with fuel consumption. If you are using the O.E.M. ECU the TPS does not need re-adjusted.
@dmorgan3244 Жыл бұрын
Hi Jeff. I did the idle screw install according to the books, and as part of that measured the factory grub/set screw setting before removing it so that I could install the new idle screw to spec. All good on that front - the install was successful. But since then I have adjusted that screw numerous times and don't know where it is at relative to the factory position. Reviewing some youtube vids now (mainly the one from Two Stroke Performance), I realized that you are really only supposed to adjust that idle if necessary, AFTER having adjusted the bypass screw to where you want it. I want to set it back to the factory default baseline again, without having to remove the throttle body again. I seem to recall that you can take a voltage measurement somewhere and used that to reset it. Does anyone know how I can do that?
@slaverace1 Жыл бұрын
The setting is .57 to .63 ohm.
@SnailzPace Жыл бұрын
@@slaverace1Jeff, shouldn't this be a voltage (DC) measurement, taken between the TPS ground and signal return pins, not ohms?

30 seconds of heat it allowed a small turn and then 15 more seconds of heat applied. I then turned it in and out for a few turns and then all the way out with no problem. Just turn it very gentle...if it doesn't move then add more heat.

Jeff, Can that mod cause crankshaft bearing damage? I am asking you that because, if from factory bike cames lean mixture and we change and make it rich, that injections will give more fuel and air/oil mix will be the same, so more fuel will go to crankshaft bearing holl and there will be more fuel as air/oil. I think you understand logic what I am asking you. so If you think about that please let me know. Thanks,
