My older sister had a 2017 Passat with the 1.8t, it was surprisingly fun to drive. The gearbox didn't always respond quickly, but once it did, it went quicker than you'd think.

My experience is that VW’s more often have floor-mounted gas pedals than not. Had a VW CC, Passat, and a Tiguan. All had that. Great review and content!

I've never driven the Passat 3.6, only the CC 3.6, and I do prefer the V6 in this case. If we were to compare the A4 2.0T 45 TFSI, I would prefer the 2.0T.

This Passat has a 6-speed Aisin, and doesn't have launch control.

@@DMCarReviews I did notice it was a bit smoother at lower speeds than the DSG. Definitely shifted slower as well. Makes sense I guess. I’m surprised it’s not a ZF like all the other VWs. Or the DSG
