Good God, the comments about his presentation, as an American who lived overseas for 15 years, its perfect for today’s environment. Some of the crap I see, (and hear) in my own language is embarrassing. I watch other reviews from other countries in their language,( that I speak) and appreciate slow clarity. The critics need to get out more and leave mom at home.

Agree. In my experience, individuals that are 'unilinguists' are, usually, the most intolerant and closed minded people that I've ever met...xenophobes really. Everyone speaks with a unique cadence and timbre and many unilinguists seem to have an issue...sad. More people should strive to learn different languages...it helps in so many ways.

These are good bikes. Especially for beginners. Recommended an fz07 it to a friend and he loves it. That and its easy as hell to move around the garage. Getting the air filter is a pain though. But the new headlight being a direct copy of the mt-09s….. 🤢 That headlight is exactly the reason why I didnt get the 09.

Bought new 4 years ago. Loved it till today when I had to change the plugs and air filter. Hell, it took me 4 hours and lots of scrapes to do that simple maintenance on a "naked" bike. WTF? I did the same service last week on my FJR and it was 4 bolts and 20 minutes. What the hell? If you buy a used one BEWARE since you'll be stuck doing it right off the bat.

@No_Name I'm 58 and can't stand the look of a half ass piss poor attempt at retro. I'd rather have the mt. At least it's crazy futuristic look is authentic. Besides, I've been riding since 1969 and have owned many of the classic bikes that manufacturers are making ugly clones of. Sure some pull it off, guzzi v7 classic and royal Enfield int come to mind. But I'm trading my 120 horsepower sportster for the mt 07.

Ugly exhaust, ugly catalytic converter, ugly lamp. Previous model was Ok. No space on handlebars for navigation, no space under the passenger seat, cheap fork (there is even no preload adjustment). Plastic covers on fuel tank... no major technical updates from 2017(?) and it's SMALL. Cheap beginner's machine, imho. I'd rather save a bit for SV or Triumph.

2015 with 25.6k miles, love it. My first bike, bought it with 8300mi. Thankfully it doesn't look like the new ones, that headlight, yikes. Also, I like the old exauhst. The single with that odd heatshield looks chunky. Corbin seat added an inch so the knee bend isn't bad, it does come off as a bit small being 6'. Comical, I'm sure, seeing me in a tuck, head over the headlight.

@@myname9252 I didn't buy two bikes! I delivered the 2014 model as payment for the 2018 model. The main motivation, in addition to the renewed warranty, were the stiffer front and rear suspensions that allow for better turns and don't hit the bottom of the crankcase in speed bumps.

When I win the lottery, or come into some money that is what I want to have. I have a little Honda cb300f, and I want to upgrade to a bigger bike like that. I was thinking about getting the Honda cb650r, but that freaking bike is way expensive like close to 9k. Well I guess if I win the lottery I should be able to get the Honda cb650r, but the mt07 looks so freaking good.

I haven't ridden the 07, I have the FZ09, but, that Honda 650 inline-4 engine sounds pretty fun to me. Really enjoyed the few 4-cylinder bikes I've tried because they're so smooth and sound great. Hope you win the lottery, my guy.

@@madrat5176I have thought about getting a FZ/MT-09 for years, so I like it. I have a 28" inseam, so I would need to "one cheek" the 32.3" seat of the MT-09. That was fine when I was young, but now.... For many riders, even experienced ones, the MT-09 is just a little "too much" motorcycle. To give some perspective, it is quicker and lighter than any superbike available in the 1970's and early 80's. For quite a while it also had mediocre fueling and suspension. Many found the MT-07 the more overall pleasant package. Price and insurance are issues for some too, of course.

@@jfess1911 I’m coming from a 2018 Honda cb1000r and find the MT 09 to be a better overall package. Lighter, punchier on the low end and plenty fast. The Honda screamed after 6,000rpms, but I’m still having more fun with the Yamaha. The reason for the switch was insurance, actually. Almost $215 per month for the Honda, $37 per month with the 2021 MT 09. Apparently in LA, any super bike or hyper naked 1,000cc or higher is on a crazy insurance tier. I wasn’t eager to change bikes until I rode the MT 09, which is the best bike I’ve had in 30 years of riding.
