I just got 1 3 months ago always take it 4500 o 5000 rpm to change it's good for that now been open up from first service get it 8500 rpm its quick have some fun good luck

It really is i love all the features i can do on the bike. And for power I’m not even going past half throttle and since the main power is up above 6k im not even hitting its potential yet…. Gotta wait for that break in mileage!

You can set favourites on the up and down arrows to bypass digging in the menus to change ABS and the ride mode. On my 790 Adventure, I have the up arrow for ABS and down arrow for the ride mode. Allows for quickly changing on the fly

Stop throttling back, quick shift you just hold throttle open on up shift. Keep it closed on down shifts and it blips.

Yea, this is my first time with a quick shifter so its definitely a learning curve. Im getting better at not throttling back just takes some time to break the habit. And thats for the info for the down shifts!!

Tried what you recommended for downshifting. It definitely was alot smoother. The owners manual didn’t give good directions and dealer didn’t tell me either lol.

What’s the actual difference between GP and R, if we talk about technical things/specs?

The GP is mostly an appearance package. It has 5 hp less than the R. Also, the R has an adjustable suspension, whereas the GP does not. Technology wise they both have the same capabilities and features such as the quick shifter and stuff like that. It sounds crazy, but even knowing those differences I still rather than GP because it looks so much better.

@@pitbikemike Thank you for information! And how do you think, in terms of reliability, maybe GP is better? I mean, R’s suspension is more complicated so GP’s suspension may be a bit less finicky/cranky?

So reliability wise, they would probably be exactly the same since the only difference is a slight tuning difference to give that extra power which you can get on the GP if you switch to the akro full system exhaust which ktm will provide the updated tune for. ( big money though). As for the suspension since I am not taking it on track and stuff, the non adjustable suspension works out well enough for me

Lol yeaaa it’s a fast fun bike and it has a lot of options that should be stuck on the bike. The maintenance is tad pricey though, I talk bout the bike a fair bit in my vids

Id LOVE the bike if Fuel Injection was the only tech it had... That tech package is a deal breaker for me unfortunately. Reduces reliability and repairability when out in the bush. Fr i wish bikes were offered in both carbed and fuel injected versions. i cant stand that little bit of lag oyu get on teh throttle with fuel injection
