I am a 2019 ILX Premium owner and this guy really knows what he is talking about! Very nice and on point review! It’s funny to see you own car reviews with another perspective. Definitely a great high reving N/A engine with 8 speed DCT! One of my favourite easter egg of this car is the auto rev match downshift of the transmission when it’s in sport mode and you come down to a stop real quick with foot on the brake!
@WTFCRLT13 жыл бұрын
Thanks man I appreciate the comment! It’s a really nice car especially for the money. The DCT makes it even better.

I am on my 2nd ilx and have no complaints. Worried about the 1.5 with the cvt in the new integra.
@tomdolgin54412 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Honda’s 1.5T doesn’t have the best reliability record, with oil dilution and the fact that the 1.5T has only been out for half a decade. We don’t know it’s long term dependability yet. It’s also direct injection along with forced induction (turbo). So it already has that going against it. Only time will tell. But you’re absolutely right, the 1.5T and CVT combo concern me, which is why I also bought a Diamond White Pearl 2022 Acura ILX Premium Aspec over the new Integra 1.5T CVT.
@caliph862 жыл бұрын
Same had the 2018 Ilx and updated to the 2022 Ilx. The only thing that feels wrong the engine on the 2018 felt like had a little more kick than the 2022.

I just traded in my 2021 Civic Hatchback towards the 2022 ILX Premium w/Aspec. (In Pittsburgh, Haha) I was a little hesitant at first to do so, but there has never been a better time to trade in towards a new car. The trade deals are insane. So far, I like the ILX so much better. It’s quicker and a lot more comfortable. Definitely prefer the 2.4L naturally aspirated engine with the 8 speed DCT over the 1.5L Turbo with CVT. Thanks for the review!
@WTFCRLT13 жыл бұрын
I also prefer this over the 1.5t especially with the DCT. My only complaint on my ILX were cheap gripless factory tires but that’s been fixed. Shoutout Pittsburgh haha can’t wait to be back, hope you enjoy the car!

I went to a Honda dealership to trade in my excellent condition 99 Accord and they offered me 500 dollars. I went to offer up and got offers for 2000 easily.

Congrats! Do u like the ILX? I like that its an older school design with a naturally aspirated 2.4L 4 cylinder engine. Its sharp and modern looking and the A speck is my favorite. I think you made a smart choice.

I dont know the price in US for the Integra but in my country is starting at 47K. Only people with lots of money can afford it. I'm getting a preowned 2021 ILX.

I leased it for 0 down 249 a month on a 3 year lease. That totals out to under $9,000 lol can you name a cheaper form of reliable transportation between Pittsburgh and Jersey every couple months? I don’t think a 99 accord would like that trip. It’d probably cost more over the course of 3 years too especially up front considering I didn’t put money down.
@thedanielgunner2 жыл бұрын
@@WTFCRLT1 I still have my 99 Accord. I do all the work on it myself and the only thing wrong with it now is it needs a new paint job. Stock 6th gen accord paint is known for rusting quick. The car is extremely reliable. I took it 400 miles with a blown head gasket and two valve cover bolts literally duct taped in place. Was I right for doing it? No but it was worth it. Worth the story. I did the same thing again but 300 miles.

Thank you! Agreed gotta love the 2.4 VTEC

I agree about the engine noise in the 2018 being louder. Plus the engine doesn’t do the engine braking in 2022 like the 2018 would do when down shifting. The 2018 was more raw and 2022 is more refined.

Why didn't they just make this a Integra? This looks way better then the new Integra coming out. ILX Type S should just be a sport tuned Integra.
@letitrest46622 жыл бұрын
The engine IS NOT placed toward the passenger side to "offset the weight of the battery"....... The engine is toward the passenger side, because the transmission is on the driver's side. Holy Toledo, this guy is doing an auto review ? The battery is placed there because........ it fits.
@WTFCRLT12 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry that you interpreted it that way, it was meant in the sense that it’s usually bad for weight balance to have a battery housed on the drivers side (assuming that the vehicle will be driven with just the driver in the car) but because of the transversely mounted engine/trans, the weight is offset
@pj87613 жыл бұрын
There's actually a lot to like about this car. Proven 2.4 liter non turbo engine with a great DCT transmission. With that said, unless you can get a great deal at the Acura dealership; I would say wait for the Integra. At this point we have waited so long , you might as well wait a little longer. Acura should have replaced this car at least 4 years ago. But again, I think it's a solid car; it's just pretty outdated at this point. I had a 2012 TSX, and then a 2018 TLX. If I walked into the dealership and they agreed to do $25-$27 otd, I would certainly consider it.
@evanmcknight25663 жыл бұрын
Agreed, love the drive train. The 2.4 L and DCT seems really nice. Seems like the last (or one of the last) of the naturally aspirated vtec 4 cylinders from Honda/Acura. Yes, this car may be a bit dated, but it seems like a solid offering at a good price. Just some of the practical details. No 60/40 rear seats and I hear the spare tire is now gone? I hope I am wrong about that, but it seems like a silly way to save on cost. The new Integra will likely be a better car, but something is pretty special about getting one of the old naturally aspirated vtec engines and it seems you get a lot for the money.
@tlaccord2 жыл бұрын
I just wish they kept the reliable 2.4 and the 8 speed automatic on the all new Integra and it would have been perfect
@WTFCRLT12 жыл бұрын
Agreed man standard 2.4 with an 8 speed and maybe an optional 2.0T with the 10 speed would make the new integra really cool
@DMX-du9mn2 жыл бұрын
Do you mean this gen ILX is last and it will be replaced by Integra? It sucks
@letitrest46622 жыл бұрын
Honeycomb plastic panels in front, because "THAT'S NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE". READ THAT (CHEAP and overused). If you want a car that will depreciate quickly and end up being cheaper to buy used than a Honda Civic, of the same model year, buy an ILX. It's noisy inside, and has less than great dependability too.....

Love this car... thinking about trading in my 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 BUT... I don't like the fact that it only has one usb. If your passenger needs the USB and you need the USB what do you do then? It's a beautiful car I just don't understand why they only put one USB in it.

Is it somewhat comfortable? Is it more comfortable than the civic or its abt the same? 🤔
@WTFCRLT12 жыл бұрын
It’s decent in terms of comfort. The seats are solid and the ride quality isn’t horrible either. It’s not a luxury car by any means but it’s a nice premium sporty compact. I’d say just about as comfortable as the civic just with a far better engine and transmission.

I do agree that the Integra looks like the ILX exterior wise. But I think the 2019-2022 ILX has a great exterior styling. The only con with the ILX is thr interior, which the Integra should be different from that interior-wise. But even then, there are a few interior elements that I'd like to see the Integra carry over from ILX, namely the outboard driver side vent mirrors the inboard driver's side vent and the outboard passenger side vent can mirror its inboard counterpart, and of course, like all new Acuras and Hondas, I'd like to see hard buttons for climate controls, no capacitive crap like in the QX60, and no having to use a touchscreen for like MX30

I look forward to your comment, I wanted to know is ILX faster than camry xse 2.5 ? I am thinking of trading my 2021 camry xse for this one. Let me know what you think
@WTFCRLT13 жыл бұрын
The ILX is a little quicker especially off the line however the Camry has far more space without really compromising handling especially with the XSE Trim. I’d personally go with the ILX possibly even the new GTI which is also in the same price range and offering even more punch, but the Camry XSE is also a great car. Appreciate the comment!
@tomdolgin54412 жыл бұрын
The ILX is quicker than the Camry XSE with the 2.5. Not a huge gap but about a second quicker to 60mph. The Camry is also more expensive, as their website may say they’re $31k, but you won’t find one on a Toyota lot for under $35k, some even over $40k. Acura pricing online is pretty much what you’ll see on their dealer lots. They don’t have a lot of trim levels and almost all features are standard.

Only bad thing is the interior shits booty 🤮
@letitrest46622 жыл бұрын
Cheap noisy interior is what most people complain about. Acura's are fairly cheap to buy used. Especially compared to a Lexus. There's a reason for that. Not a great car, and honestly it's really a stretch to call it a high end luxury car line. BTW, you'll have an impossible time finding a new ILX for $26,000 to $27,000. You'll be paying more like $34,000 to $38,000. It's not worth it.
@letitrest46622 жыл бұрын
He thinks the 375 pound engine is placed to the passenger side to offset the 35 pound battery. I'm worried about what our colleges are producing. His daddy must own the dealership.
@WTFCRLT12 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your passion and input however It seems as if you’ve misinterpreted what I said lol I meant it in a sense that drivers side mounted battery’s are typically bad for weight balance but since the engine/trans are mounted transversely, that shouldn’t be an issue. Never meant it as if they literally made the engine sideways just to fit the battery on the drivers side lmao

the interior is so ugly my 2011 rav4 looks better inside xD
