Not the top trim level Highlander. Also a review from an unbiased source would be appreciated. But I would agree, the MDX does come out on too. They are considerably different in both features and price. Like other comments Pilot vs Highlander or MDX vs Lexus would be more appropriate.

Well, MDX comes at the bottom of the List of luxury vehicles in its segment. The real Question is MDX Technology Trim 55K luxury enough when compared to Highlander top Trim Platinum 50K

Thank you ... I find it hilarious that some posters are complaining that the two cars are not reasonable to one another. If you are interested in comparing these two specific vehicles ... then why are you here? Personally, I found value in the video. Good job, it lays out how the more expensive Acura makes a value claim over the presumably Luxe Highlander. Z(After all, Toyota themselves make a claim to be a Luxury SUV. And clearly, they fail at the effort ... realistically, they fail at being equal even to the JGC L.) You get what you pay for. Don't expect to pay $45,000 (US) and compete with a $54K Technology packaged SUV.

It’s Lexus versus Acura not Toyota versus Acura. You failed to mention that the Highlander uses regular gas and the MDX uses premium fuel. Also the Highlander comes in a hybrid the MDX does not.

The fact that your even comparing a Toyota standard size suv, to an Acura standard size suv, is just insulting to Acura. Acura is Hondas LUXURY brand. Lexus is Toyotas luxury brand. Therefore a better comparison is comparing Acura to Lexus, and in that case the Acura still wins against the outdated Lexus RX.

I get why you are comparing highlander with acura mdx. I actually was looking for it because 3 row seats which is not std in lexus rx350 or 450.

I've owned both acura & toyota both great. I have a 2021 limited hybrid highlander with the 12.3 inch screen. Love this car.. Cost $50,000 with the added extras... But I'm also looking at an acura mdx a spec now.. Too see if they can win me back... Just comparing

Very unfair comparison. That wasn't a Platinum edition. There is over a 10k difference in Acura. Don't get me wrong, they are both great SUV's.

It’s crazy how for more than $5000 less, the Highlander limited and pilot elite come with ventilated front seats, heated steering wheel, and fog lights. I would imagine if I’m upgrading to a luxury brand, these options (at least the most basic feature of fog lights) would be standard without having to buy the highest trim level. Very disappointing

That is not the platinum. That is the limited. Just to look at the wheels and with out the captain seats in the mid road. Plus the interior is not just black is caramel or harvest. But regaless this not the platinum. The acura wins what comes to luxury and technology and designs.

We're Hinda fans, but the MDX is less comfortable but has more power. The used versions are virtually the same price. I'm torn about which to purchase next. I love my Highlander.

Well, MDX comes at the bottom of the List of luxury vehicles in its segment. The real Question is MDX Technology Trim 55K luxury enough when compared to Highlander top Trim Platinum 50K. Amazingly, the Highlander Platinum has a better Quite Cabin than MDX top Trim Advanced Type S. Infinity and Acura are at the bottom of list in the luxury segment that's a fact!!! In my opinion it's possible to say that the Highlander Platinum can compete with Acura. The customer shopping experience is all about the segment, luxury customers could consider Highlander ... We can see this in Hyundai Palisade as they get closer and closer to the Luxury segment. Palisade not there yet but very close... I would Say Highlander Platinum is even closer than what anyone could have ever imagined.
