I have this exact car in red, but ebony interior. Definitely an eye stopper! Stop lights, dark parking garages, grocery store, you name it and I get compliments. I absolutely love the handling, and the pep. He’s exactly right in the video when he says stay on it in the turns. Unbelievable! Very comfortable for the driver. Back seat is small, but I don’t have children and rarely have passengers where it is needed, so no biggie for me.

I had a TLX Aspec as a loaner from my local Acura dealership. I had my ILX in for service. I found the TLX to be very peppy and pleasing. The turbo 4 gets the job done. It's no slouch that's for sure. The interior space you will get accustomed to it. I'm a big dude close to 300lbs eating light. 300lbs when I'm eating good. When I first got in the TLX. I was squeezing in there lol! After adjusting the seat and having it for 4 days. It was nothing getting in there. Yea it's a nice ride comfortable and quick.

I got a loaner one for a day. I was impressed, yet underwhelmed at the same time. Handling felt great, the breaks weren’t broken in, so I can’t really comment on that. The car felt more torquey then fast. I got a 16 TLX V6 SH-AWD. I have aftermarket intake and straight-piped it. At the end of the day, I still preferred my car and was eager to get it back compared to this.

That comment in the beginning about the rims is soooo real. I own one and it’s the only complaint. I’m weird I don’t like modding cars everything has to be from factory in my book and the rims are the only thing I wish was changed.

First of all, Just about every reviewer gets this car in the SHAWD version, and of course because the car is very good with that as far as handling goes. What's being missed with the performance off the line with this car is that there's all this talk about the 2.0 Accord being quicker and because of the weight it probably is quicker off the line. However, what is being missed is a 200 poundsl lighter for for the FWD version. Even though the 2.0 Accord sport is about 3300 to 3400 lb, and the TLX front wheel drive is about 3700 and change, It does bring it closer to the Accord 2.0 as far as off the line quickness. This and the Accord are by no means any race cars, or meant to be any race car ,or a track car. These are daily driver cars for most people going to and from work. There's a mention you wish this car had more horsepower, More horsepower for what? You add another 20 horsepower it's not going to make much of a difference. So you get the type S if you want more horsepower. Another thing is I had two Accord V6 coupes with the six-speed transmission in them, a 2013 and 2016. Also had a 2019 TLX V6 Tech with the 9-speed ZF transmission. The Accord coupes definitely felt better off the line than the TLX V6 with the ZF9. Come to the 2022 TLX a spec FWD, This car feels at least as quick as the Accord coops with the V6. It's because of the quick shifting 10 speed and the low end torque. Not making claims this car is going to beat any true sports car, because it won't. However for a daily driver and the fun factor it's more than good enough for the average driver going to and from A and B. You didn't say this car was bad but you also wish to had more power. It's kind of funny, what are you looking for 400 horsepower? It's not going to happen. So they add another 20 or 30 horsepower and another 10 or 20 lb ft of torque It still won't get up to the next level of cars that have more power. Also with as many cars on the roads in any metropolitan area you can only go so fast. I can see if someone lived in a country area with a lot of twisty roads and open roadways then of course more power would be fun. People nowadays are driving 80 miles an hour on the interstate so what are you going to drive 90 to 100 to be going faster than them.. lol Yeah it's gotten to that point.

The Type S has 83 more HP sitting at 355. Also has a V6, and 3.5L. The suspension is even better on type S. They did a great job making it feel much different than Aspec trim. Both are worth it for the crafted performance, reliability, style, and value they will hold.

I got this car in the base trim with FWD, and it's just as fast as my old 2015 Accord V6 coupe. There's no reason to get the AWD version of this car if you live in a place with good weather. Throw some summer tires on the FWD lower trim models and you've got the best 2.0t version of this car IMO.

@@joeb3618There absolutely is a reason if you want a better handling car. There are just things a FWD car can’t do. I had a 2.0T Accord and traded that 2020 in for a 2021 ASpec SH-AWD. Night and day the handling. Cornering especially. I couldn’t throw the Accord into corners like I can with the Acura. The back rotates/pulls you out of corners wonderfully. Impossible with a FWD version obviously.

I gotta admit most of these luxury brands really need to step it up. If you're gonna charge 12-15k more than non luxury sedans and be around the same speed for their upgraded versions you had better put in something really worth it and most of them fall short.

@@Cynical496 in what way? It's not as fast as the Accord 2.0 (unless you go all the way to go the S). They tie in safety ratings. The Accord get slightly better gas miliage. the Accord has a bigger trunk and a better turning radius. The TLX does have the navigation and a better warranty. Is that really worth the 14k in MSRP?

The drive quality is better in the Acura, which is expected because it’s more expensive but the a court feels lighter, faster and quicker

i am not impressed with their 4 cylinder transmission , as its same engine as in the rdx and there is always a delay from 2nd to 3rd to 4th...byt type s v6 is the way to go .

The 10AT is just fine in the 2.0T. Rather the stock engine output is fairly weak but easily remedied with a Ktuner.

The 8 speed in the Acura ILX and 2.4 TLX is garbage and known in the community. Not a good transmission. The 10speed Honda built transmission is extremely good and very robust. Holding up to 400hp to 500hp reliably.

So many people love the 8 speed and a lot got upset that it’s gone. Would you rather have 8 speed or CVT like the new integra. I drove the ilx 8 speed and the cvt in the integera and I would love to own the 8 speed For the 10 speed I owned the first car that Honda put it on. Which was the 2018 accord 2.0t. I loved that 10 speed. It’s such a great transmission and my accord was tuned and beautiful 😍
