When other cyclists see your bike with a few scratches on it they are going to think that you actually ride your bike. Don't worry about what other people think. You love your bike. You want to keep it working and looking great. That's awesome. A few scratches here and there aren't a big deal. Just learn from the incidents that caused them and move on.

Exactly my experience with my 2018 Roadmachine 01 Three. Coming from a Bianchi Sempre Pro, which was actually also too big sized for me, it also was feeling slippy at high speeds. The BMC is completely making me feel, that it drives by itself. Save, fast and comfortable (with 30 tires on Zipp 302s). A dream came true for me. Fun riding is the biggest motivator. 👍🏻

Have a 2018 Roadmachine01 Four with mech Ultegra. You're right: the Roadmachine corners like it's on rails. The tight rear triangle is very stiff. For the first three months it felt like the rear tire was flat and the rim was on the road. Takes a little getting used to, but after that, the bike eats up the miles instead of the rider.

I think I'll stick with my Cannondale CAAD 12 Ultegra 56cm. Gotta agree that the Ultegra is smooth as a baby's bottom. The price tag of an all carbon bike and the prospect of a sudden catastrophic failure all combine to convince me that my sub-15lbs (yes, no lie) Cannondale (Bike of the year!) is going to be my preferred ride for many a year. I wish you much happiness and many, many safe enjoyable miles on your new BMC.

Just bought a Roadmachine THREE yesterday. Just in time for winter haha. $5500 out the door. I was in love with it within the first minute. Mostly it started with this video and then watching a TON of other videos about it. I had to call about 10 shops in Georgia to find this one. The electronic shifting is just so cool. BMC you owe Mitch credit for a purchase. I've been a Trek guy my whole life so this is my first foray into a different brand. I just couldn't get excited about the Domane and I think the whole Isospeed thing is a marketing gimmick. I don't like proprietary stuff on my bikes.

Just to correct at 1:46, the rims ARE tubeless - confirmed by Mavic and also on the label affixed to the rims ("compatible with tubeless and tube type") - but you will need to add tubeless rim tape.

You should definitely change to tubeless tires, this is so easy to do and will lead to more comfortable rides. I've done it on my road bike (also a carbon one😏) and after 30,000km in 2.5 years I had not experienced a single flat tire! Just had to find you on Strava, connected! 🤓

The only thing worse than a scratch on a nice bike, is a scratch on nice wheels. So I got rid of them by redefining; they are no longer scratches, they are character marks 😀👍

Get you a set of really good lightweight wheels.. used ones are cheap. Also stick with inner tubes and by some RideNow TPU inner tubes. Super lightweight .. Ive only one puncture in well over 1000 miles since swithing to tpu

Nice fun video dude. Ιam searching the market and iam close to buy an SLR6 . Imho it not worth this high price. 2022 is bad year cause to increased prices (covid , oils , general price increase, high demand for bicycles , low availability) . for 4k they should give you a complete bike , not these cheap wheels . not these heavy bikes . Nevermind iam ready to pull the trigger !!! We think from the heart (thats marketist guys want xD ), We have one life only. Have a nice rides ! The bike looks so beautiful with ultegra - disks, also very nice colour !! Just dont look at the scraches , go some steps behind and look the whole bike. It has no scraches right? :D Sorry for my poor english - syntax :D

Hi, I got a question regarding the first spacer on the stem. Is it normal that the big square spacer moves arround if you turn the handlebar left and right? Or should it be fixed and aligned with the top tube and not move at all? On my last bike, the bottom spacer was round and did not move at all. So I was wondering! Thanks and great video!

(Late) Congrats on the fabulous bike. I'm also a LA-based Roadmachine rider so maybe we'll cross path one day. You mentioned your preference on RM over Team for compliance, but have you personally tried riding one? Originally I had wanted a Teammachine but BMC simply doesn't make too many 47cm (Velo Pasadena hardly has any, ever).

I love BMC, my first real race bike was also BMC. But I don't like how they sell cheap and unreliable Mavic wheels with otherwise great bikes. Canyon does a way better job at that which is one of the reasond I changed to them.

well...comparing to Revolt, used road bike for 1000-1500e (full carbon, 105/ultegra) would feel the same - waaay better.

Love your videos! I am deciding which BMC model i should get as my first road bike (currently riding foldie)! Do you think Roadmachine 5 is a good start? Any issue with the cable rubbing against the frame?
@MitchBoyer2 жыл бұрын
I love mine! You’ll notice a HUGE difference coming from a foldie. I put some lizard skin clear stickers to protect bits of the frame where the cable might rub and I’ve hade no issues. Thanks for watching, lemme know if you get one 🎉

@MitchBoyer Жыл бұрын
In this video I had the original Wahoo Elemnt Bolt--I loved it! I now have the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt v2. It's great too, the old one is on my wife's bike now. Battery life is great. I recently did two days of long rides back to back (340 miles total) and the computer lasted the entire day each day on one charge. 10 hrs one day, 12hrs the second I think.

PLEASE!!! DO NOT clamp a carbon seat post and 1 set the bike upright (make sure it is mostly in a natural downwards tilt, so it's not fighting gravity) or 2 lean on the handle bars of said bike in the upright position. That made me cringe so hard. I guess you have a healthy amount of fiberlink in the post which caused you to not hear creaking, but it causes unnecessary stress and load on your seatpost.
