0 to 60 in 4.7 or 4.8 seconds for base model is absolutely amazing, such a beast of an engine, and relatively fuel efficient.

Yes, most people don't realize the pickup this 6 cylinder has, especially for such a heavy car. The magic on this one is how well it actually delivers it, especially off a light. I have (owned) and been in other SUVs and cars with similar 0-60 times but sometimes turbo lag or delivery makes the car feel entirely different.

Got the premium and sport package for my 2022 BMW X5. One thing I don't like is that the rearseats are tight and they don't recline because I feel they are a bit upright.

Tight in space? Yes - several reviewers complained that for such a 'large' car there is actually not as much space back there as one might think. I'm going into an X5 from a smaller SUV, so to me it's still an upgrade. And yes - reclining seats would be a GREAT feature that all SUVs should have. Enjoy your ride!

Great video. I would agree with you on the turn signal stalk - it bugs me, too. Same with the auto lock/unlock, but I was able to change that to just auto lock (you can also turn it off completely). The lack of rear a/c control bothered me, too. But, I recently found out you can control it through the iDrive system (and even program one of the hot keys to go right to it). I got the m sport line with exec pkg, luxury seating and merino leather - I think that would ease some of your concerns about the seat and gear selector. Massage seats and the No hand traffic jam assist make for a nice commute.

I, too, would like to control the rear AC system from the front. Can you explain the steps to do so? I have a model year 2020 X5.

@@Nutwigg1 We haven't found out how to do so outside of temperature adjustment. I did not find a way to control the speed of the rear fan. Maybe someone else can chime in here with additional insight!

Great content and keep it coming. Had a question for you? What was the total mileage (Km) on the test vehicle???? I got my bmw x5 with the m-sport package on 3 December 2021, with no issue at all. On the 5th months of ownership, the front brakes started squeaking / squealing when coming to a stop. To pack it on a 20-45° angle slope, it sound as if I was driving a 1964 car, it sounded as if the front part is about to break-off. Also, when turning the steering wheel to a full-lock in both direction I get some cracking noises to which I have reported to the dealership here in Vienna, Austria (Europe), but dealership kept telling me the dealership BS that I should be applying 100% of brake pressure and that will eradicate the noises but to no avail and they ended up telling me that I should try from time to time to do emergency braking on high-way (when safe to do so) & that should get everything back in place to which also didn't solved the problem. Am a 1st time BMW owner and I was so disappointed that a €116,000, can become a nightmare with those horrible front brake noises when coming to a stop or when parking on a slope in using the brakes. To make matter worst, don't dare to park it on a slope in the present of people as they will stare at you with the """ what in the hell of a junk car are you driving" look... For new buyers, don't fall into the trap that will left you questioning yourself, "what the hell is this"? and before you buy, any of the X5 (both the M-sport brakes and none m-sport brakes), I'll recommend you request for an X5 that is with a milage of 3,000 - 5,000KM (kilometers) on the tachometer and then you will noticed that the sport brakes are a hell and try parking it on a 20° - 45° angle slope and then you will get the final result that will make you not to buy it until BMW engineers go back to the drawing boards to fix that front axle and front brake issue. Don't make the decision to buy an x-series based on KZbin content as they are doing their best on what they see, feel and hears at the time and the dealership always give them new vehicles which is less than a 2-3 months old so that they will not see the crap side of the car. The car drives well but brakes noises is a nightmare. For the content provider, your content is great and keep the great work. Also will recommend that you do another review of the x5 using one that is 1 year old and let your follower with live coment to post their dislikes of the x5, plus your finding, this will make future buyers not to fell into the dealership BS and manufacturer tricks. If a customer paid lot of money for a premium car, the car should check all the boxes.

Hey thanks for the awesome feedback. BMWs as well as other higher performance (german) vehicles are notorious for squealing brakes. I have owned numerous vehicles, where I would change out the pads immediately just to stop the super loud squeal, it is really nothing out of the ordinary and just part of the price you pay for high-performance brakes. BMW and other manufacturers will state it's normal, and not swap them under warranty. It is the compound of the pad and sometimes the larger size of the pad itself making contact with the rotor that causes this. If you want this fixed, you will have to swap pads to another of your choice, and preferably not BMW OEM (or else that problem will come back again). The BMW in question did NOT have bmw performance brakes, it had the standard rotors and pads on there. It was the X-Line and not the m-sport as well. The car was a '22 but did have over 20K miles on the odometer. I only mostly faced the brake squealing issue on cars with larger / upgraded brakes. And you are absolutely correct on the timeline. Typically the louder brakes set in about 5-10K miles into the ownership. Again thank you for your support of the channel and we will make sure to have awesome content coming in weekly!

@@thedesertroad what brand type of the brakes do you recommend? Do the complete brake system (rotors & brake pads) needed to be replace to solve this Squeaking??

@@hectorsesay8579 Nope you only need to do the pads, it's the metallic content of the pads currently making contact with the rotor that makes the squealing. I'm not sure what brand of rotors fit the current X5, but I used akebono pads in the past with lots of success (and they are much cheaper then OEM to boot!).

It’s funny … I think the navigation is so awesome that I don’t use apple map no more .. it’s navigation is built on .here which is used by Audi and Mercedes as well! I like the fact that BMW has less noise and less details!

Thank you for the feedback! As this was a rental, we did not have MSRP on hand unfortunately. Being a low-optioned X-Line X5 we knew this is on the bottom end of the spectrum of pricing. The 2023 xdrive40i starts at 63,900 (a bit higher then 2022 models), and a bit higher with an option or two. That's a good reference point for where these cost today.

@@user-Vegas1 That sounds dead on the money and should be a fairly loaded car. We just reviewed a 2023 X6 that should be up on the channel shortly and that was a fantastic ride. I hope you are enjoying your X5. What color did you get interior / exterior? I really love manhattan green on the X5s !

No BMW diesels in the USA anymore. The cheapest one is actually the RWD version of the 'xline', but this one has a low MSRP as well as it's barely optioned outside of AWD!

40i isn't the cheapest. 45e is the cheaper. :)

Maybe in some other countries -- but in the USA for 2023 the 45e starts at ~ 2K more than xdrive40 and 4K more than sdrive40! When you factor in the tax credit available - it has the potential to come out overall cheaper then both versions of the 40i - but that's not guaranteed!

@@thedesertroad Not $2k for 2022. Base for base, 2022 difference is $800 more. Option for option, 45e is $250 more. Then for 2022, most if not all x5 buyer should get all $7500 incentive.

Thanks for your feedback! We thought the X5 was one of best in class from driving dynamics standpoint (especially the m-sport versions). Which lincoln did you like better? We have an aviator review coming out in a few days, and it'd a tough match picking the best between the two!

@@thedesertroad I drove the aviator and the corsair. After comparing... the lincolns felt more luxurious and plush. Fit and finish on bmws are great but the ride on the lincoln was not matched by the x5. My wife was impressed by the bmw but she didn't test drive the lincoln.

@@3joewj Yes Pros and Cons to both for sure. BMW rode more sporty and as you said - Lincoln was more plush. Our review of the Aviator will be up in days - it's an interesting comparison between these two cars!
