If BYD remove the sunroof, rotating screen, coloured lights and other non-essentials, will it shave off RM 20~30k of the price? To me the price reduction is much more attractive than those gimmicks.

Looks like an amazing car and great presentation, clear, to the point and not too fast. EV would be the way to go to reduce carbon emission, and I agree there should be incentives to move people to EV

The Byd Atto 3 has a very poor DC charging speed: Tesla Model 3 RWD 170 kW Smart #1 150KW MG4 Confort 135 kW MG4 Standard 117 kW Jeep Avenger 100 KW Byd Atto3 88 KW

how long it lasts at the top charging speed matters more on the total charging time. BYD has a very flat charging speed curve.

wonder what's the lifespan of the battery and also how much would it cost to replace em. Imagine if a hybrid (which is just partial battery powered vehicle) would cost more than RM 10k (mercedes at RM100k, BM at RM40k), then a full EV would be easily double of the amount?

BYD provides 8 years/ 160,000 kilometers warranty of high-voltage LFP blade battery.

I heard BYD blade battery cost RM500+ per piece. There is like 100+ blades in a battery. So full replacement cost like RM50K+ i think

BYD taxis using their older batt technology have covered over 500,000km in 10 years in china and still hold nearly 80% of their original capacity. BYD cabs have also been in use in SG for over 7 years now. The current new blade batteries found in the atto3 and dolphin are supposed to last even longer and are much safer.

BYD should reduce their EV price below 100K to able to successfully win the heart of Malaysian. Now Selling above 160K, I rather buy the ICE cousin from Geely Proton X50 or X70. COnventional but practical and cheaper...

Everyone talks about climate changes and conservation. Everyone talks about alternatives and obvious solution to reduce carbon dioxide pollution and everyone talks about EV. But yes, particularly here in Malaysia EV are stupid expensive and how on earth can we help to championed efforts to reduce air pollution? Look, we're not living forever and some even die young so who cares about global warming etc. Now we haave some hope to experience EV with affordable price and took part in the effort to reduce air pollution... BYD Seagull. Not Dolphine coz it's like the rest of EVs, expensive.

But be careful of the kona battery packs may not be as safe as BYD blade batteries during charging at home . If battery safety is the priority better go with BYD however, if u prefer vehicle quality over battery safety then Kona . I prefer battery safety .....
