After reading reviews on the GWM I decided to check one out, curiously the local dealer is also a LDV agent as well. The LDV is truly a basic dual cab and I wouldn't even contemplate owning one, park bench seats, ugly plastics throughout the interior, it's just as basic dual cabs used to be. Now for a breath of fresh air, the GWM is like no other dual cab. The interior is a glorious place to be, it's up there with a saloon interior, way ahead of any rival. It is currently let down by a lack of power compared to its rivals, but not too long ago everyone was happy with those outputs and it would be very acceptable to people wanting that interior, if I were in the market for a dual cab it would be at the top of the list, closely followed by the Musso, why. They both feature the most comfortable easy on the eye interior, no gordy stuff and that ridiculous screen in the ford, no thankyou. It could be capable but can't live with that interior and that's were you spend your time, no matter how you utilise the vehicle.

Guys, just my humble opinion since you all have this vehicles at your disposal, please do a drag race in one of your segments🙏.. we wanted to find out how the torque and gearbox can do in which even the hilux and ranger which has 500nm, i think the dmax can out run those two even with just 450nm of torque..🤔

It looks like the Musso can be upgraded with the money not spent on branding. If you need power points and USB outlets wow you can't add them ? Is that a joke , it's so easy even if you need to pay an auto-elctrician . Suspension rates can be changed still not up to the $65 ,000 you need on hype brands . All they need is a tub cover that is retractable and bingo .

I have had 3 Ford Rangers in the past ten years and generally they have been good (3.2 five cylinders). Weirdly they have got thirstier??? My 2022 is the least fuel efficient, very strange? Anyway, I was talking with our local Ford service manager and he said there are lots of issues with the new one. I think I would steer clear for a year or 2 till they sort them out. Main issues I've heard of are software related but there is also driveshaft coupling issues and the 3.0 litre V6 is prone to blown engines. I know of 6 in my area!!!! This was an issue when they were used in Range Rover's as well. I know a chap who's Range Rover snapped the crankshaft at 63 K. Same engine now in the Ranger. Hopefully they will sort that one out???

Musso wins this for me due to reliability. Whilst booking my musso in for its first service at the dealership they said they’ve never had one in for engine failure whilst their ford arm has two in at any one time with engine failures on the new v6.

I'm only half-way through, watching the rear occupancy part of the review. After watching the front interior section and now through the rear occupancy, from what I can glean so far in the overall review is that the Cannon is by far the most spacious and comfortable interior. It seems that GWM needs to learn that if they add SatNav and DAB radio (I guess people still listen to radio), they could charge $30,000 more for their vehicle. I hope they don't watch this video, they might get ideas on ripping us off like the others... I've also learned from this review that if any manufacturer puts a screen in the portrait position, no matter how bad it is, they will win as long as they are one of the most commonly known manufacturers of course.

Where is the Mighty Mahindra ? It ticks all the boxes and is extremely cheap. It is a great work vehicle as well as a great weekend vehicle and is very capable off road.The first mahindra i bought in 2012 and clocked up over 400000k's of reliable driving before selling it and buying a new one in 2021.In total the new build ( suspension, tyres , bullbar , towbar, canopy . lights, snorkel , and a few other extras ) cost me just over $ 42 000.

Might be a contender if you could get parts anywhere but the dealer I test drove one totally surprised how quiet and smooth it went I could not hear the engine I loved it plenty of character but the better half hated the looks and said NFW I'm riding in that.

Would agree if they tested the v6 Ford but no way is the 2.0 version better than the Isuzu 3.0 and in comparison the XTR BT50 only loses leather from the top spec, I fitted a tub liner and don’t want a roll top as you lose two tie points.

A ute (short for utility) is what we call a vehicle here in Australia with an open section (tub) at the rear. So you can load and carry items in with easy open access. Hope this helps. Cheers 👍

This is a relatively flawed review, considering the 4WD capability section wasnt tested anywhere near hard enough. If youre buying one of these utes, you would expect pretty decent 4WD capabilities, yet this is where the DMax/BT50 and the two cheapies fall down. Youd be much better off with the Ranger, Hilux, Navara or Triton. The powertrain on the Navara is below par, so that drops it off this list. Basically, you're left with three. You can choose budget and spend more on extras (Triton), midrange value with Hikux, or high-end features and capability with Ranger. Honestly, i think youd be pretty happy with any of those three (unoess youre towing, in which case probably scrub the Triton).
@chriswording86382 жыл бұрын
Let's face it, there ain't much noticeable differences between these Utes. And it isn't about "affording" the Ranger. No matter how you twist it, it just isn't worth $70k no matter how you twist it. In fact, even the new Ranger's 360 camera is lower resolution than my 2 year old Cannon's. Go drive both back to back and see if you can notice the difference that is worth $25k. Why pay more when you don't have to?

I own 3 Great Wall X200's, each has done quarter of a million k's and still going strong. The Cannon has the same but more refined engine. Now that I need a dual cab ute more than ever, I will stick with GWM. While I really like the Ford, they are what they are... over priced.
