I got the dct version in intense blue and it looks better in person than on videos. Looks agressive and sporty and blends well with the black grill and spoiler. I suggest u park on reverse at all times or u might accidentaly scratch the front lip. The cons of this car is that theres clank noises similar to hyundai kona at low speeds while driving in a parking lot. Seats r not for everyone ,u need to weight 180lb or less and not be a tall person. When getting out of the car ,its a bit uncomfortable and tell ur passengers to watch their heads while getting in ,rear seats dont have cup holders and usb ports or vents. Pros : infotainment has a lot of features like it tells u gas prices at gas stations in ur area and how to get there ,a doppler radar , info and map of racing tracks for the N cars ,in usa custom mode settings to adjust engine,tranny ,struts ,steering ,exhaust noise , limited slip differential etc. And much more. Gps is great , 0 glitches on bluetooth audio connection ,heated seats, nice bose audio system not the best but is good enough. Handling and taking curves r high speed is excellent thanx to the michellin tires and suspension ,acceleration is very responsive and quick , led headlights very bright and uniform , trunk space is good ,remote start ,unlock ,lock etc with your phone , good mpg on eco and normal mode (i get 31mpg in my city) exaust popcorn pops r loud and fun ,many ambient light colors to choose from

If so how is the handling? Thanks!

@@thunderb2998 understood. If you are used to AWD it will be an adjustment. I would suggest test driving some front wheel drive cars in the winter and see how you feel. The Kona N sits a little higher that might make you feel more comfortable although it is still front wheel drive.

@zxmurph12 жыл бұрын
as a rule, with the right tires, a great handling car is a great handling car in the snow. That said, there are still normal caveats when it comes to the reality of ride height limits etc in more severe snow, but as an example I went from WRXs with Blizzaks to a 2014 Fiesta St and a 2017 Fiesta ST with Nokian Haks and vastly preferred the "tossability" of the ST in the snow over the WRXs I had. Yes, there is no getting around the fact that four contact patches are better than two when it comes to accelerating, particularly from a dead-stop, but in overall driving FWD can not only be ok in the snow, but very fun too. I have a 6sp N on the way as a daily, and while the tire size is a bit daunting for long-term costs, there are number of top-shelf Michelin and Pirelli winter applications available with another consideration being a more moderately sized winter tire/wheel package. I am looking forward to tossing it around in the snow, especially with that diff. The N also keeps the tradition of an absolutely vital fun tool for winter driving......an honest to goodness manual handbrake! Rochester NY here btw.

@thetorquedork58572 жыл бұрын
I personally live in a pretty congested area so a manual just didn't seem like the right choice. The wet DCT is really amazing. Once I test drove it I was sold. Plus you get the fantastic paddle shifters. Best of both worlds for me.
@theweirdo612 жыл бұрын
@@thetorquedork5857 If you use the paddle shifters and downshift, does it rev match? I know that's what the manual red button does, just wondering if it's a feature within the DCT?
@theweirdo612 жыл бұрын
I'm also leaning more towards getting manual BUT the DCT is extremely tempting. 1. Manual has a rev match feature, but no NGS (extra power for 20s with a 40s cool down period). 2. DCT is much heavier as is mentioned in the video, if that's something you want to consider, although I have seen some reviewers do a track faster (~1s faster that is) in manual than DCT. Although for a standing start, DCT will always win.

I have a 2015 mk7 Golf R and looking at getting into the Elantra n. I was curious if the DCT model has a button to turn on the (I don't remember exactly what it's called) when you get to a stoplight and you don't have to keep your foot on the brake to keep the car from rolling forward and it just stays in place. It's a simple button in my golf R right next to my right thigh and something that's very important to me. Considering the Elantra N has so many custom adjustments, I would assume it would include this option but I figured I would ask someone like you who owns one. Thanks in advance.
@thetorquedork58572 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Elantra end does have this option. It does come with a caveat though. Because they only want you to use this on the track and not on the street. It is not a very easy button to find and you have to go through a few menu options to get to it. It automatically turns off every time you turn off the car, so to use it daily would be a bit of an annoyance. I have engaged it a few times and it also does not work perfectly. So yes it has it but it is not perfect
@Daveyboy_RS32 жыл бұрын
@@thetorquedork5857 I wonder why they would want you to use it on the track as opposed to daily driving? BTW it's called break Auto hold or simply Auto hold. And you say that it doesn't work well? Does that mean that when you are at a stoplight and you take your foot off the brake, sometimes it'll roll forward? Is that what you mean by not working well? Lsd on a front wheel drive? Ok. This is very weird to me coming from the infiniti G
@thetorquedork58572 жыл бұрын
Ya, definitely different but it works. You need to drive it to believe 😁
@IchiBeemo2 жыл бұрын
How’s that weird? Many sporty FWD cars had/has LSDs. Civic Si, Integra Type R, GTI, ILX, MazdaSpeed3, Mini Cooper S. The list goes on. Any car can benefit with any sort of LSD or eLSD in this case.

How was the manual transmission on this....comparable to? Thanks :)

I have not driven the manual. I went DCT because it is slightly faster and I drive city mostly.

My Veloster N has that awful brake dust. I think EBC Red Stuff will fix that. With the brake dust...wash it more :)
If you put it in manual mode and say you're in 2nd gear going about 10 MPH and then floor it, does it stay in 2nd gear, or does it downshift?
@thetorquedork58572 жыл бұрын
It will stay in 2nd. It is pretty manual. It is rare that it will try to do any automatic shifting in manual mode.
@youtoobe1692 жыл бұрын
@@thetorquedork5857 Thanks. I have been going back and forth between getting manual and auto, and I hate the auto paddle shifters like Mercedes where even in manual mode it will still automatically downshift or upshift. It's like it ignores manual mode because it thinks it's smarter than you. Another question. If you floor it from a stop, how often do you get wheel hop?
@thetorquedork58572 жыл бұрын
@@youtoobe169 in N mode very often. 2 things can help. Replace the lower motor mount and 2 completely disable ESC and that will help a lot

What are you people paying for this car? I keep seeing in my area people paying 40k for a 32k car 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
@thetorquedork58572 жыл бұрын
Just need to search high and low until you find a dealer willing to give you a fair price. There are dealers out there charging only MSRP but they are few and far between.
@mi1stormilst2 жыл бұрын
I have heard that a number of people have overpaid for this car. It is an exciting car at MSRP, but if they try to sell it to you for $40,000 I would wait it out. It is still a great car, but at $40,000 you can buy a BMW.
