I own this exact model, and I love this bike. I installed an EXT E-storia coil shock on it, and it didn't dramatically improve its performance. I put the float x2 back on the levo and installed the coil shock on my stumpy evo. The stumpy evo benefits much more from the coil than the levo does because the levo has so much grip and supple feel with the air shock that a coil really isn't necessary.

Great review, I couldn’t agree more. I own the same bike in the black raw colour, awesome by the way, and I’m blown away with the all round performance. It does everything exceptionally well. I live in British Columbia Canada where the terrain is chunky, steep and gnarly, and this bike just eats it up. I am considering the cascade link though. Adds 10 mm of rear travel and makes it even more supple off the top and ramps up progression from 20% to 28% to help with bottom out. This is the first emtb I’ve owned and is hands down the best bike I’ve owned. I should mention that everyone should do an air damper service on their “ brand new “ fox fork, as most are packed with grease from the factory which degrades performance greatly. After the air damper service the fork is more supple off the top with superior mid stroke and end stroke support. I had to run five volume reducers pre-service, now I only need two. Cheers guy’s and keep up the great work.

I live in Colorado. Is it safe to leave the battery in the bike while it’s sits in a hot or very cold garage? What do others do?
@TheLoamWolf Жыл бұрын
We leave our batteries in 99% of the time. Oregon sees a very similar climate as CO. With garage Temps in the 20s to 90+ depending on time of year, we've never seen a problem thus far. However our garage is finished/insulated so temps do stay fairly well controlled. Battery manufacturers do suggest you remove battery, for example if you're leaving it in a very hot car, or really hot shed/garage that's not insulated. (temps over 100 degrees inside) is where we'd start worrying.

Bummer to hear about the bike, Mike. Tough question, in all likelyhood, if we had the money for the Pro, we would save the $2,000 and go with the Expert. Taking what we saved and upgrading certain pieces of spec like the brakes and wheels to stuff we like more than what Specialized equips on either model. Then just enjoy the bike and upgrade other aspects as needed as time goes on. That said, you wouldn't go wrong by just going with the Pro and taking the same upgrade approach down the road.

Hey Guys, Thanks for all you do! Your reviews and analysis have been really helpful in helping me get back into all this and get up to speed on the E-Bike Scene especially! So my question is “a littlea” redundant in that it has been addressed in an earlier comment, but what has changed is the recent Specialized Summer Sale. Basically there is a $1250 difference between the 22 Pro Spec and 22 Expert Spec that you have had experience with. When there was a several thousand dollar difference between them it sure made it easier to settle in on the Expert. However, with the price getting so close between them (Pro $9500/Expert $8250) and what seems like a $1000 reduction/$1000 Sale on 23 Spec Expert…..Are Carbon Wheels/ Fox Factory/RSC Brakes/Carbon Bars/X01 worth $1250? No matter what it’s all a ton of $$ even with the summer sale? Of course the 23 Expert blurs the line even more with E-Shifting (plus another cool color to chose from I spoke) sits almost in the middle of the other two……..thoughts?
@TheLoamWolf Жыл бұрын
By no means will you have less fun on the Expert, BUTTTTT, if the Pro is in your budget, the colors make you happy, you seem more enthused or excited about it, then there are some performance enhancements. Again, will they make you minutes faster? No. But discerning riders can feel the subtleties and that may be worth it, provided the funds don’t put you in a tight spot! Either way, you’ll be stoked though.

This is no longer about the money and my dealer took care of me for sure! The problem is I am second guessing my decision which was made kinda because I was standing in the bike shop! I have time to switch between one of the other until Monday! I don’t want to say which way I went because I am seriously weighing the Electronic Shifting upgrade vs Carbon Wheels, Kashima Coating on Suspension, Carbon Bars, RSC Brakes. Again…..I am not trying to figure out which one will make me “better”…it wont! I’m just trying to figure which one is money better spent! Thanks for the compliment and appreciate you asking. Are you able to notice things on your bike now? For example, if your tire pressure is too low, or your levers moved or seat post isn't at the right height, can you discern those differences? If so, then you'll likely notice the improved handling in tight switchbacks of the smaller wheel. HOWEVER, working with an instructor/coach, or spending time practicing those turns you struggle with will for sure be more noticeable in the long run! Equipment is good, skills are gooder. haha. But yes, the shorter rear end is nice.

drive train problems, still !! NEXT !!! i am NOT going to buy a bike again that requires a new motor every 2000km, i opened the one they refused to replace for free, the flaw is obvious !! and they are lying about it. no more specialized bikes for me.

Hey Martijn, what do you believe the obvious flaw is?
@nitraM3212 жыл бұрын
@@SL--rz6ul the gearbox is separated from the motor by a metal plate, the gearbox is a large cog, a small cog, a tensioner, and a belt, the problem is that the plate has a hole next to the large cog that is larger about half a centimeter than the cog itself, for no reason, so, when the belt gets older, and stretches a bit, instead of just running against the plate, it gets into that gap and is shredded into DUST in a couple of seconds !!! and then instead of just giving u a new belt, they charge 1000 euros for a new motor because of their contract with browse !!!

@@nitraM321 Thanks for info. I'm considering buying a Levo, I took one for a test ride, great bike! But I'm concerned about the motor reliability, especially on such an expensive bike. This video helped me understand some of the issues: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5XchYCFpruBqtE

How is it these two riders rate the bikes over a 9 out of 10 with these two major flaws? Just lost all respect for you the Loam wolf Guys. How do you rate a bike over 9 out of 10 if 50% of the sample size used by the riders have a motor issue? #1 It’s an Ebike, the motor reliability should be a top priority for an electric bikes. #2 Pedal strikes on an Ebike is paramount when you ride an Ebike. You spend more time on the saddle and pedal strikes can make you fall…

To answer it simply, because it rides that good! Technically 33% of our bikes 1 of 3 had an issue. And if we count the over 10 friends of ours who have bought and regularly ride Levos without issue, our personal knowledge of issues is even lower. Plus we did talk to specialized and asked them as it is a very real issue and concern for us as consumers and people recommending the bike. We can’t discuss the actual number but it was very very low. So that put us at ease for this review and recommendation. As far as pedal strikes, not many ebikes don’t strike pedals as most brands are still learning about the need for shorter cranks and higher BBs. And this bike is still leaps above many others. And that’s how/why they rated it so highly.
