I’d take this over a merc any day. Stunning, luxurious, and way better value. Genesis is killing it lately.

Yeah, until you go to sell it and everyone else will take the Mercedes. Depreciation is the biggest hidden cost in a car and these things DROP like a rock. Great vehicle, but that's only part of the formula for success for a car company.

Realistically there is no comparison to a Merc. This doesn't carry the real prestige you're paying for. This is also overpriced for a Hyundai. If it was lower with the same features, then you have an argument. It is nice looking though I agree.

I'm happy with my 3.3t 2019 g80, almost went for a c43 but realized the pricing matched with what ypu actually get makes no sense. MB hands down is the architect so I can't argue that but when I purchase a vehicle I look at reliability, cost of ownership, tech and engine specs. I was a Japanese owner (Honda, infinitis) so me going to this wasn't a huge jump but I'll say it was a major upgrade. I love a car with tech that makes me feel old lol, gives me that yearning to learn everything about it. Damp control and suspension for this car my GOD I was literally going 50 on the streets and I live in NYC pothole city and man oh man this was by far the smoothest ride. My friend who is an audi enthusiast recommended this to me, at 1st I laughed like ain't this hyundai? He told me it's the premium brand like infiniti was to Nissan. I did a lot of research and when I actually witnessed 1st hand a G90 5.0 ultimate, I fell in love at 1st sight. Inside the cabin was beige with a white interior. I swear I felt like a CEO in that thing, and to know that V8s are still being made within this brand was a huge plus as now they are getting harder to find as the electric is slowly taken over. I convinced myself to rather go for the 3.3t as this would have more torque and those quad exhausts!😍 Black with blk and gray interior from a distance you would think it's white. Seats are bolstered with such craftsmanship. I feel completely safe in my car it's like it's a sentient being talking to me saying it's ok I got you. One of the best imo 👌🏾

I wish they'd kept the V8 for the G90 at least. Turbo charged engines can be cool and save you on fuel costs, but they're never as reliable as a non-turbo engine. An engine is designed to withstand a certain amount of stress and compression and I don't like the idea of increasing that with turbo chargers. It might be fine for a while, but I'd rather just get the slightly bigger engine, assuming it's well designed. I remember when they built V12 engines not for HP but for smoothness in luxury cars. Car manufacturers these days have forgotten what a luxury car is. It's about comfort, smoothness and convenience. Lexus, Cadillac and the German brands have all gotten so stiff they can't call themselves "luxury brands" with a straight face. I appreciate that Genesis hasn't yet fallen into that trap of targeting 16 year olds and people in midlife crisis. But I'm sure that's coming.

Have a 2017 Genesis g80 5.0… the car has been reliable through 50,000 miles except for the finish on the wheels….found that there was chipping not just the edges but on the face of the wheels…not that big a deal but obvious if you focus on the wheels…went to the Hyundai dealer as we don’t have a Genesis dealer and asked why this was happening….basically they said the chipping was due to putting new tires on the car but the chipping was there before the new tires were installed …no response to that one other then must be a rock from the road…alas the service tech said no it must have been the tire company who damaged the wheels so no warranty coverage for these wheels which would cost 6000 to replace…took it to corporate with an information package to the new President but no response so I took it to the website and they answered that wheels were not part of the bumper to bumper 60,000 mile warranty…thought that was odd…as an aside research uncovered that BMW had abandoned the same wheel finish because of chipping…so much for the service tech indicating this has never been a problem…my conclusion big black eye for an otherwise fine product….

Hi "Gold Pony", I love your videos and the G80 review. I currently have a Caddy XTS 2017 and am considering getting a new G80 in the fall. I test drove a G90 last year and loved it. However, with the current economy and the fact that I live alone, I think the G90 is overkill for me. The big thing is the comfort of the driver seat. I am 5 12, 250 bear type. I was wondering if you could find out the seat width. I know what the shoulder room is but can't find seat width. I appreciate it.

I have both. Lol. I have a 2013 XTS Platinum and a 2022 G80 2.5T. The G80 is truly incredible. The ride is so comfortable. When I first got it, I was actually falling asleep on the highway. It also kinda drives itself on the highway. I can go on and on about it.
