With tall ceilings a ceiling fan is a must. Clockwise rotation pushes all the heat from the top down and counter clockwise produces a nice breeze in the summer. Energy-efficient and does wonders on heating and cooling bill.

I am enjoying your new home too. Your style is much more contemporary than mine, but I love your gift for placement . I am so excited for you. as it must be exhausting and loads of fun. Please do not get angry or frustrated . Give yourself the gift of time and patience to get it done. This is all one huge puzzle for now. I have been trying to declutter and am now missing several things I packed away last year. I ordinarily decorate for fall the day after Labor Day. I store away all of my red white and blue stuff that is in place all summer to put up all of the fall colors. That is when I build my huge mounded floral/pumpkin/fruit fall pile of fall stuff atop of my armoire along with my LeMax fall village inside that big cabinet in the living room. The morning after Halloween, the big ceramic turkeys come out of storage. One of the local Hallmark stores went out of business and they sold me a big pile of fixtures and fabulous fun things , lights and all kinds of great goodies, The day after Turkey day, the TurkeyTown comes down and Christmas explodes all over the house. I live an hour out of Colonial Williamsburg here in Va. We found that they sold the Dept. 56 version of Williamsburg inside that armoire. Much of our Christmas decor was inherited from the hubbies family and consists of great grandparents ancient ornaments. Again. most is old stuff. Let me repeat how much I love your self confidence with placement of decor. Thanks for teaching me how not to be so stiff and stuffy.

amazing.. love the decor.. and somehow your decor has become even better in this house… how is that even possible! Just a little bit titbit about another part of the world- in Delhi, India, we do not have centrally heated homes because everything is more oriented towards summer and cooling, but winter can get very cold too with temperatures dropping down to 32/ 33F. The interiors feel even colder because everything is brick and concrete to aid cooling, and we use only space heaters to heat our homes. So it’s nice to see space heaters..

I no longer have children at home so I don’t have to put so much emphasis on Halloween anymore. Sometime in September, I start decorating for fall. And that pretty much carries me through until I get closer to Thanksgiving. Then I’ll pull out my pilgrim nutcrackers and that sort of thing. So I pretty much try to maximize the amount of time that I get out of my autumnal decor. when my daughter was growing up, I definitely switched out and did lots of Halloween stuff inside and outside. I love everything you did, but my favorite Hass to be the witches hats in the kitchen.

Hello. We also have high ceilings and use ceiling fans ,over the stairway and in the tall living room. They has a reverse for winter. One way draws air up, the other draws air down (also nice to move the air around.) Congratulations on the new home.

This year I set up two to three trees in my hometown restaurant. I also do another one in a different town. They asked for all year trees last year so I am attempting to do that. I first decorated the trees for fall and then added Halloween on top. One tree is done in witches. Another tree is done in candy corn and did my tree at home in Frankenstein! When I take my Halloween down at the restaurants they will still be decorated for fall. All I need to do is add a few Thanksgiving items and they will be done. As for me my Christmas comes home November 1st . Really love your videos! You are a cleaning person like myself!

I decorated for Halloween all month! The porch has the haunted farmers market, the skeleton reunion, and the witches winery! Ghosts, skeletons and scarecrows are gathered for the tasting where tables are decorated with day of the dead pumpkins, treats and candles in candelabras. The witches’ cauldron is a half wine barrel and they are bottling their brew this weekend!🍷Cheers!

Hi Lauen! I think your Halloween decor turned out fantastic! The artwork is great! I give you credit for even attempting it with everything you have been doing! I just decorated my porch as my business too has been so hectic and I'm short on help. One day off just doesn't give you much time to do anything. I've been doing a lot of Christmas shopping online and am almost done with that. Christmas is a lot as I decorate my business also. I'm going to do through Christmas decor this weekend (and possibly declutter some) and then next weekend get a start on decorating.Somehow it all gets done!
