Got a 2019..... all happy here! That motor is sweet, good grunt down low and in a high gear no low speed stumbles, above 6K it comes alive! Brakes good! Nimble! Great looks. I have only added a Yoshimura Alpha slip-on.

I have the 2021 black edition here in the uk. Firstly I m 60 and my previous bike was the Daytona 675. All the video s I ve seen do not do the bike justice, you have to see the black edition in the flesh to appreciate how good looking it is and the detail is superb. As someone said you could turn up to a party in a dinner suit on a Saturday night and no one would bat an eyelid lol😂 The riding position is so comfortable and it is soooo easy to ride. As said get above 5k and the bike takes off and 30 mph in first or sixth gear. The highlight apart from the engine and looks is the quick shifter/auto blipper. It s so smooth both ways. The bike is not perfect. The black paint on the tank is beautiful but does scratch easy and the suspension really does need setting up for the individual rider. The rear shock is definitely budget but is fine for 95% of use if your not a heavy person. Also the sat nav linked to your phone is ONLY voice with Apple …disappointment here. I also think the screen just follows the trend and the previous lcd looked nicer with the bike as well as the round led headlight as opposed to the teardrop. However these are minor points and personal preferences and no bike is perfect. I have put a tail tidy on the bike and LeoVince exhaust so you can now see the beautiful rear wheel and single sided swing arm. Anyone considering this bike and does not want a 180bhp mt10 Tuono and don’t want a Ducati price tag etc should definitely test ride it. I love it….but it’s design is not for everyone.

I wish they crossed this bike with the rebel 1100, and made a vtwin UJM, 4.5+ gallon tank, under 480lbs you could throw a screen and bags on and go touring.

I love the look of this bike with enough ponies to keep you entertained. I consider this bike to be the gentleman’s naked. The other naked motorcycles are getting crazy… although that isn’t a bad thing because I still drool over the sound of a Yamaha cross-plane. I just want that Honda fit and finish with their renown reliability. If Honda would build a liter VFR I would be at the dealer right now.

@@johnsullivan2577 we’ve already returned it to Honda, but I must admit, I personally really enjoyed this bike. I like the styling of Yamaha’s XSR900 better, but since Honda redesigned the CB1000R a couple of years ago, this is a great looking and strong running bike as well. I say go for it.

Excellent review, I'm 53 and probably going to trade in my 16 monster 821 with 37,000 miles on it . This bike seems to fit the bill for a rider of my age that wants more comfy ergonomics and also still have lots of power, I'll miss my Ducati but ugh the maintenance is just too much for me anymore..

The main tester in the review is editor Rob, and he’s 58, 5’8”, about 155, and loved The rider triangle of the CB1000 R. Being a Honda, the big CB Is bulletproof reliable, so it’s got that going forward as well. If you get a test ride on one, we think you’ll be impressed.

I’m 50 and have the 2018 with just under 20k miles. I’ve also owned a 2009 monster. Not only does this have a lot more power but u just can’t beat Honda’s reliability. This bike is a great compromise of power and function….u really have to get it to 5500 rpm for it to launch which makes it pretty practical around town. Also really nice ergonomics and comfortable seat. Truthfully, I’d just look for 2018 to 21. I “blacked out” all the same pieces except the pipes. Just the headlight is different (which I preferred the round one), rims are different, and some very minor styling differences between old and new. The only thing that is better is the display but a better display and blacked out parts is hardly worth the extra 3k in my opinion. Bought a Tenere 700 and was going to get rid of the CB but I realized I was going to miss having a powerful bike so kept them both.

@@roaddirttv I love my T7, its a really “zippy” bike with an amazing engine! I love most that Yamaha bucked the trend of horsepower and electronics….which kept its price down. As an experienced rider I can do without these things. It has plenty of power to do highway miles comfortably and the engine is great off road because the power is so linear. The only upgrades I think someone would need are are a heavier rear spring. It’s a bit soft if you’re jumping the bike and you’re not 160 lbs. The best upgrade was the rally seat….it’s more comfortable than stock and is way better for off road. Granted it raises the seat height pretty high. My only gripe with the T7 is that it’s very top heavy. It’s an absolute bitch to get back up in certain off road conditions. I’m 6’2 and despite being old I’m in shape and it’s gets exhausting lifting this bike by yourself. The T7 though is about as close to a unicorn as u will get. Will subscribe to see see your own thoughts :)

@@martin4819 a friend of mine who works at Cycle World of Athens, GA has a T7 as well, and bought the Yamaha Rally seat. Told me it was the single most important change he made to the bike. Absolutely loves it. Two of us will be riding the T7 across the next couple of months- one of us is 5’8”, and the other 6’2”. Should be a pair of interesting perspectives. Thanks Martin!

Cool bike and I may consider one after having troubles with my Tuono but I don’t think Honda quality is what it once was. I’ve seen a lot of videos and talked to a lot of owners of late model Honda motorcycles with quite a few issues as well.

How was the wind fatigue
@roaddirttv
@roaddirttv 2 жыл бұрын
Didn’t really feel a lot of wind fatigue out riding. The rider triangle is mostly upright and neutral, slight reach forward to the bars, so you’re leaning somewhat into the wind. Wasn’t exhausting, out on days rides.

@twowheelskorea1187 2 жыл бұрын
I have been riding my 2022 Black Edition since March and I can say that the wind fatigue is certainly there, but it's not that unbearable. There are windscreens available, but in my opinion it just takes away too much from the look of it. I personally don't mind the wind too much, but i'd be lying if I said I didn't notice it on this bike above 60mph.
