This car would have so much potential had they simply brought the full model range starting at $29-30k to compete with the Mazda3, Corolla, i30, etc. But nah they sell a car with less equipment at a $5k premium over the closest competitor being the Mazda3 Astina, and then allow for 0 haggling smh

@@User-cb4jm Honda would have so much potential if they had a bloody catalogue that didn't fit on the back of a postage stamp. Don't get me wrong, I come from a long line of Honda people and I appreciate the mark. But the Australian catalogue is pathetic. A couple of SUV's, a medium sedan and a large sedan? Are they kidding? On top of that, they want the family jewels and your first born for any of them. Bring back the days of the S2000, the Integra, the Prelude and forgive me for even saying it, the Odyssey. And bring back the days when they were a real "bang for buck" proposition. They're one of my favourite brands, but they've lost the plot.

Honda Australia has again, ripped off the genuine buyers market for this model. Overseas markets have the option for a 6-speed manual, glass sunroof and better sound system to name a few...And the conversion rate, makes the overseas model cheaper...Nup, look elsewhere...

You can blame the Australian market for that, more than 90% of new vehicle buyers only buy automatic transmissions hence why alot of manufacturers don’t bother developing a manual option for there car, why would a manufacturer make a manual option when roughly only 2% of buyers opt for that transmission. It’s a really niche market, not to mention sedans are also a dying breed to as most people buy utes & SUV’s

That’s what happens when you kill off key models and in the case of the Civic just compare it with the Mazda3 - the other sport-luxe mainstream Japanese car. Mazda has 6-8 trim levels from under $30k to 45, 3 engines, manual or auto, sedan or hatch, there’s a Mazda3 for everyone. While Honda is selling a single CVT hatch in one spec that’s nearly $50k. They don’t even make an effort to cast the net wide enough. And then they say they won’t budge a cent due to the fixed price policy which will make them even more expensive than a haggled down competitor.

Drives amazing, decatted extremely loud exhaust and more roomer than my wife’s 2022 Audi Q3 Sportback. I got the car for $54K AU. The type R are due to be released at $80k plus dealer mark up. Does the type r performance worth the extra $26k plus? I’m not sure. There’s the JB4 piggy back than unleashes about 320-350hp @ the wheel for $800. 8 speed DCT pretty quick and less jerky than DSG. There is a dct recall though. If the type R was out that time I would of got the type r. But for some money concise buyers might not be worth the $26k plus hike. I don’t track my car either so the more race focused type r is kinda pointless. This N reminds me when the evo 6 came out and people were skeptical. Ah Yes Honda Australia - Ignore all your sales figures, ignore that the RS was the most popular variant sold of the last generation civic. Release the next one in the least popular variant than the last one at a price point higher than not only the last one, but of every single car you compete against with less creature comforts than they have to boot. Warm hatches and sedans are stupidly popular and get your more bang for buck out of i30n line or a cerato GT for $10,000 less. You are an embarassment. Then my guess is back the car out of the Australian market by 2025 claiming that's not what Australian's want. Your maketing and planning team should be fired.

It actually pulls quicker than that, turbo lag is virtually non existent. The engine power is excellent right across the rev range. 240nm from 1700-5000rpm and 170+hp from 4900-6000rpm. Slight delay of acceleration from takeoff must be what your talking about, but only very slight. If that bothers you just select brake hold mode and quicken your reaction time by having foot on accelerator pedal. It will make up for it. Drive by wire's fault not turbo lag.
