I was thinking about how nice the gauge cluster looked and then realized that you must be Canadian. Looks so much better than the cluster in the US spec, and I'm not even going to mention the other features we got neutered on.

I know there’s quite a few comments about all features we get in Canada over the US, I think the US car should of been spec’d the same

Why wouldn’t the US be the same as Canada? This gauge cluster looks much better than mine. Like what is the thinking on this? Does anyone know? It seems illogical to me to have such big differences between the two… wonder what played into this decision. Maybe I should have bought mine in Canada lol

It depends on the fuel you were using. Were you running 93 octane or E30?

It maybe hard to say but what about reliability with the tune on? Most sanctions can be very much faster and perform better if you put a tune on it but it also would likely risk their reliability onto the same end. So the Factory tune is likely slower

Any clutch slip at all on the 21 after a bit of time with it? I want to get the most out of the car but it seems the clutch is the biggest problem with these cars.

I know zero about tuning so sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there any way to plot speed vs time? Seems like overlaying those plots would be helpful to compare factory and aftermarket tunes.

I believe a full disable is being worked on, but it is better than the 10thgen from the factory when it comes to rev hang probably because it doesn’t have the heavy dual mass flywheel

KTuner offers superior tuning strategies on the 10th and 11th generation Civics, also it’s more cost effective… it’s simply the go to device. No one tunes as many of these cars as Derek Robinson from Innovative Motorworks either so I’ll take his advice as well since it’s the better tool available when it comes to tuning the car. Here’s a deeper dive into it outlining the advantages and disadvantages of each www.imwtuned.com/blog/what-to-choose

I like the way you think! I'm familiar with mid 90's engine "tuning" or "mechanical engineering" as I call it now. Things like this, shaving the head for more compression, using just an A/F guage to calculate fuel pressure increases and or larger injectors to "tune" for nitrous, ECT... "Tuning" now seems to mean "programing" and require extensive computer skills. Does this still work with modern VVT and adaptive PCM control systems? I may be way off base here. But I would assume eventually the PCM would see the extra air and use the VCT actuator to reduce the time the intake valves stay open? That's unless money was spent on another tune/program to increase fuel to match the extra air, rendering the tune/program already being used burnt money?

Tuned the car only sees .55 which is fine, knock control is just the car doing it’s job to protect itself. There’s more knock control feedback on Hondas factory tune but you don’t usually see it because you don’t have KTuner on the car monitoring it as I do here. Same fuel, same conditions the factory tune was seeing as high as .74 and honestly it’s not odd to see the factory tune go higher than that
