Found a rubber gasket in my oil after I changed it 2:00 can I still ride it or do I have replace it before riding, how important is it?
@VR6NAVYVW2 жыл бұрын
If you strip a bolt hole on a block or other aluminum threads, you aren't screwed. If you use a King Cert or Timecert you will actually be stronger than it was before. Its basically like a steel sleeve. You drill threads out and retap the hole. Then the Timecert gets red locktighted in and has your original thread in it. Now that the material is steel on the threads you will have many more torquing cycles. We use then when head studs get pulled out on high boost engines.

Have you experienced the transmission problems with your grom? Wanting to buy one but have seen other videos about that issue that Honda won’t fix
@rioaxjenjsndbejs3613 Жыл бұрын
I have the 4th 5th transmission noise issue on my 23 from under 250 miles. Based off what I read I’m gonna change oil and overfill the amount of oil and see if that works. This issues occurs after 20-30 mins of riding something to do with heat.
@charkswitlazers Жыл бұрын
@@rioaxjenjsndbejs3613 unfortunately I don’t think Honda will fix this issue. They’re notorious for letting things slide and just fixing it with the next model/design. The 2017-2023 CBR1000rr’s have engine problems. Been there done that. They don’t care.

cant i just change the oil and filter?
@DanesWorld20212 жыл бұрын
You 100% can! I just did an in depth oil change since the engine was new and it had silicone that broke away from factory which can cause that screen to plug up and slow oil flow.

Ever come across your bike making a strange noise when over 6000 rpm? Sounds like a gripping or slight grinding noise?
@charkswitlazers2 ай бұрын
You have the Grom transmission issues. Do some research, it's widespread
@Peruqt69Ай бұрын
It wasn’t a transmission issue but I was aware of other riders having similar issues but come to find out getting new sprockets and chain made the noise go away.

Nice video. To get to the oil screen, did you need to loosen the rear set to remove the side cover. In other videos I've seen they remove the rear set but you seem to have removed the side cover without having to do this.
@DanesWorld20212 жыл бұрын
I did not remove the rear set, it maybe would have made it alittle easier but definitely not needed!

Did you re seal the cover when cleaning the screen? Or was it a rubber gasket. Just got my 2023 grom
@DanesWorld20212 жыл бұрын
I reused the gasket that was there. Do not use a silicone gasket maker on these! Just get a new gasket from Honda if you are afraid to mess the old one up

How often should you change the oil on a grom?

Depends on how you ride. If you beat on it often, change often, easy cruising probably every 1k

@DanesWorld20212 жыл бұрын
I believe the manual says like every 4-6 thousand, I’m going to check mine every thousand since I beat on this thing pretty hard. Wish I could ride it right now but I went down hard on it about 2 weeks ago and had to have shoulder surgery!

@@DanesWorld2021 ahhh man that sucks. But I ride mine hard asf also. Practicing wheelies everyday and at 1500 miles currently with still factory oil 😅 I’m not riding because I put a new cam and intake on with Exhaust. So I’m waiting for stage 2 ecu. But I need that oil change asap. Thanks man
