Ya this guy has no idea what he's talking about. I literally commute on my Super Cub every day at 40mph+, dropping down gears from 4th to 3rd to even 2nd on the hills with absolutely no problem. What this guy is complaining about can absolutely happen...on literally every motorcycle without a slipper clutch. To blame the bike for his lack of willingness to learn a very basic riding skill is honestly laughable. For anyone reading this, it is a basic skill you should learn. The Super Cub is a RIOT to ride, and everyone I've come across just can't help but smile and love it!

I’ve owned exactly the same bike for the last 15 months. It’s an amazing bike and a super smooth ride once you adjust your skills and learn how to use it right. Heal / Toe gear changer is basically a combined clutch and gear change all in one, so smoothly does it and treat it as such. Time your gear changes to your road speed. It’s the biggest selling motorcycle of all time, and the gear change arrangement hasn’t changed much since 1958 !

This guy actually makes sense; I did the same on my Cub shifting down from 4th to 3rd which caused the bike to jerk and feel the back wheel lock a bit due to high rpm shifting down. It is actually a mistake. Slowdown if you're shifting down. Match the engine revs to your gear. Down shifting while you're revving high or running fast is a stupid idea - applies to any other motorcycle. I also tried engine braking going down a step parking area - guess what - motorbike was high revving going down and causing it to jerk. Another driving mistake. If you want to free wheel going down a steep hill, either go from 3rd or 2nd. Do not do engine braking while going down fast. Basic motorcycle skill - never downshift when your engine rev is high. It is common sense. Just learn your riding skills basics and practice.

Respectfully disagree. 110 million of these have been sold, they've figured out how to make a great product. I have a 2022 Super Cub and the clutch-less up shifting AND down shifting is perfect, smooth and safe, if you know how to use it properly. It was odd the first few minutes of riding but it isn't that hard. I had it sorted out in five miles into my first ride -- and I'm not that bright! Just rev match and use the down press depression of the shifter lever as a manual clutch. The shifter lever acts not only as a gear selector, but a bit as a clutch too. On another note, I've never seen a blue 2022. This was the color for 2019, then red for 2020 and 2021, then black for 2022. Is this some strange 2022 Asian color variant? I know they make C110's in different colors there?

The clutch is in the crankcase. It’s easier to ride, but requires a learning curve. You release the throttle and it is the same thing as releasing a hand clutch. Neutral on the bottom, then 1,2,3 and 4. Toe shift up, heel shift down, ease up on throttle to engage clutch. It’s no big deal.

Sounds like you just don’t have the rpm’s matched with the gear your shifting to, even if your driving a clutch bike you are gonna lock the wheel up if you are too high and you don’t slow down and release the clutch; it sounds like you are used to a traditional hand clutch system and this bike will be a bit counter intuitive for you, I have a 2019 super cub and part of the beauty of it is that you can just stop regardless of the gear and it won’t stall, the bike is designed so that you don’t have to be switching gears like crazy, it has a wider range in the higher gears and is made for you to use the brakes to slow and just take off with the throttle vs needing to do lots of shift work, most of the time your going to be in 3rd or 4th gear even when your going relatively slow, Honda has designed bikes around this clutch system since the 1950s if it was inherently dangerous it wouldn’t be the best selling vehicle of all time

Any simpleton would know how to ride this bike easily and safely. I have one. It is great!! The best for back road site seeing and commuting. This is the most sold vehicle ever worldwide and you don't get it. But that's okay. Thank you for you opinion anyway. Just keep in mind that any bike can "kill you". Don't blame a bike because you can not understand and adapt to the purpose for which it was so well designed. Try rev-matching the next time you ride something like this. It will smoothly go through all the gears. Fist gear was purposefully designed for quick take-offs from a dead stop. Quick being relative to the small displacement of a 125 cc engine. That is why it is slightly different from the other gears. It was designed to help you "survive" in most city traffic conditions, when stopped at a red light, by keeping up. Low end torque.
