I've had a hardwire kit for a year now and I haven't put it on because I'm too lazy to find a ground. so thank you for making these videos for me to copycat. ❤

I have to say thank you for this tutorial. I’ve always wanted a dash cam, but have always been nervous to install one and mess with anything electrical. You made me feel confident enough to finally do it, and showed me it’s not as tedious as I thought. Just installed mine today

@mxcn1234568 ай бұрын
@@danimoosakhan I connected the ground to the same place as shown in the video. I basically followed everything exactly the same, except for which fuse slots I used. I had a spare slot that wasn't being used for my ACC. I connected my power to a slot that is used only in the hybrid model. That slot was also empty but still gave off power when the car was off so i used it tor my dash cam. Other than that, everything was the same.

With the wires put from the a-pillar to the back, did you direct the wire underneath the side impact airbag or above it because if it's below it, if there's an airbag deployment that could lead to some issues on top of an already obvious collision that caused the bag to go.
@nprform6 ай бұрын
I have it above in the headliner and then down the side behind the rubber door seal.

@@nprform Wonderful job as that is not below the airbag! So thank you for this video!

Well done as usual. Looks to be a solid budget setup at at good price. I am sure this will help those that have never done a dash cam before. In this day and age I would never own a vehicle without at least a 2 channel setup at the minimum and the cost of entry has come down so much there's no excuse. I have one in each of my 5 cars including the two garage queens. All hardwired for parking mode and the fact that anything with hanging wires just triggers my OCD...lol. These things are rapidly improving and becoming disposable I am not so sure I would spend the money like I did in past years on higher end products. For the EN I skipped my usual $350 to $500 ThinkWares and went with a Viofo T130. BTW I just ordered a FocuWay T6 to give it a try and replace an old BlackSys 2 channel that was problematic from the start. The T6 was only $15 more than the T5. (I say this mostly for anyone who may be deviating from your exact configuration not as criticism just to be clear) I did my EN install pretty much the same as you did with a few exceptions. I pulled the A-Pillar since I had a few of the one time use clips here already and was installing 8 wires at the same time. Valentine V1, Viofo T130 3 channel), OEM auto dimming homelink mirror and two spares for whatever since i was in there already. I wanted to bundle the wires neatly away from the airbag just in case. Lack of decent grounds on new cars is a bit of a pain compared to the old days but I used the same one as you. Hardwired with a add a circuit is always the better way to go. Never Vampire taps. Top Tip: two of those unused circuits (without fuses) contain a switched and always on source. I forget which ones as it's been over a year since I did my install. The rear cam cable on the T130 was ridiculously long making it tough to tuck without bulging the head liner. Fortunately it was an easy fix as the rear part of the head liner is just christmas tree clips. I just dropped it down enough to fit my hand in, coiled the slack, zip tied it and stuffed it in without issue.

Thank you! I appreciate your feedback about the T6 and input on how you installed your camera. My wife has been after me to do this for all of our cars, because you never know what could happen and insurance is a pain. My daughter was in an accident right after I installed her camera and it was good evidence. Thank you!

Very nice video. I have a Viofo A129 Duo hardwired. For a ground connection, there are 2 nuts above all the fuses on the fuse holder, and the right one works as ground (tested for continuity with a multimeter). It was a little difficult to loosen it so that I could connect the ground wire to it though.

I guess you could but I would think that wouldn’t look good since the wire would be exposed.

btw just so ppl know, this hardwire kit doesnt work for the parking mode setup for this dashcam, as the Focuway t5 required a hardwire kit that have both the constant and acc cables in order to woirk correctly and turn off the camera when the parking mode hasnt been triggered. With the Plozoe hardwire kit if you put it on a constant fuse, the camara never turns off even when you switch off parking mode in the app settings. the camara just records 24-7 without ever turning off.
@nprform10 ай бұрын
I appreciate the information. I don’t use the parking mode, so I will double check what you’re saying. I’ve updated the description info to include Focuway’s own hardwire Kit. Their kit was not available at the time I purchased my camera. Thank you for commenting on your experience.

Anyone have an issue with the dash cam falling off after a few hot days and cold nights? The 3M seems not to be sticking to the plastic.
@nprform8 ай бұрын
I haven’t had that issue. If you continue to have that issue, I would suggest cleaning the area again really good with alcohol. Then redo the 3M pad with a fresh piece of 3M. I would buy a small roll from Amazon or your local hardware store, like Home Depot.

Is it safe to just tuck the wire inside A pillar like that? I am afraid that if the wire isn’t properly secured it may interfere with the airbag, and that’s just unsafe. How did you make sure that the wire was not in the line of flight of airbag? Overall great video❤ EDIT: I installed my dash cam today, when I removed the A-pillar cover I saw that there is a curtain of airbag, not just one airbag in the A-pillar. This means if you route your wire from the top of the A pillar, YOU ARE GOING TO INTERFERE WITH THE AIR BAG deployment, that's the last thing you want to do. The safest way to cross A-pillar is from the bottom.
@nprform9 ай бұрын
Yes, it’s fine to hide the wire in the A Pilar. The airbag will expand without issue. The wire is not constricting or hindering the airbag. Thank you!

@@rakish001 I understand your concern. I feel safe with routing the cable over a small area of the top of the airbag, due to the force and speed in which the airbag deploys. I don’t fault you for being concerned or say you’re wrong about the possibility this may be an issue. I personally feel it won’t be an issue. If you feel routing the wire a different way to keep the wire from passing over the airbag then I would do that. To others, I would say if you choose to do this, remember to unplug the negative terminal of the battery. This is a safety precaution, since you will be messing with the airbag panel.
@yatteerknight-ve7xl8 ай бұрын
@@nprform thanks for sharing, video is great. I just did the same install following your guidance and it worked perfectly with one difference - the airbag. rakish001 is right, it is better, and much safer to go behind the airbag, and it's not difficult at all. I followed your process except for the airbag area. For everyone who wants to go behind the curtain airbags instead of over it, it's very easy to do. 1. You need to pop the A-pillar. The first 15 seconds of this video shows you how to do that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aqPKfYWJhad2Zrs 2. Route the cable from the bottom of the A-Pillar, after the end of the airbag instead of from the top
