I have a 2022 Jeep Compass North model and, love it. No issues so far. The fuel economy on the highway at 100/kph or less is great. The day trip we took averaged 6.7 litres/100 km. The day was a perfect drive day, no wind. I know a lot of people complain about the horse power and say it's too low. 177 HP from a 4 cylinder isn't really anything to snicker about when you look at the old V8's in the late 70's and early 80's were putting out due to stricter emission regulations. The bandits Trans Am put out 200hp with 325 ft lbs of torque. So when you look at hp to weight ratio, this Jeep Compass keeps me smiling.

Our ‘19 Compass High Altitude is our 4th Jeep product. The Compass preceded by 2 Grand Cherokees a ‘2014 & ‘16 Overland and currently still have a ‘14 Wrangler. All have been/are great vehicles. The Compass is a perfect size for my wife and extremely good in bad weather, no problem in deep snow. My only complaint is it’s a bit sluggish and underpowered for my taste. It’s had a few minor issues quickly rectified by the dealer under warranty. Overall I would recommend. Will probably replace it with a new one at lease end.

Jeep Compass is a great car, with a perfect size and force. It's fix really good for daily and trail uses too. Since 2019 it is a new car and the video was not useful bringing issues about 2007. Today, probably, is the best choice in Jeep and others SUV brands.

We bought a 2018. Loved it but it was a basic model. We traded it in for a 2021 with almost all the bells and whistles. It drives and handles even better. 34 mpg flat ground at 65 mph!

my opinion you loved it because you have no plans for a long term ownership. that for you will never be exposing yourself to it unreliable performance and expensive repairs. because you always going to be pass it on to someone else. and it will be sold as preowned Vehicle !!

Every 3 years I have a new car, I never really need to worry about repairs other than general maintenance because my car is always under warranty. I can't afford to buy and I like the benefits of leasing. For what it's worth, I still take good care of my leases car, because if you don't they will charge you extra when you try to turn it in at the end of your lease.

I have a 2018 compass trailhawk in australia. Diesel 9 speed auto and love it. Use it as my work car towing my 6x4 work trailer. Got rid of my nissan navara ute to buy this and never looked back.

Just got my 2022 Compass Trailhawk 2 weeks ago. I have to say, I went in cautiously, but was VERY impressed with the vehicle. Luxury, fit and finish, content, looks, driving dynamics are all superb. The ONLY shortcoming i can see so far is the engine could be a little stronger. Not bad, just not as quick as the Dart I traded in on it. For me, it is a DEFINITE recommended purchase, if you're looking in this category!!

I like my 2020 Sport. I bought it essentially new back in April with 54 miles on it. I'm at 10300 miles now. Still rides pretty good.Though I will admit the seats aren't like my old Nissan Rogue. I drove 1000 miles to Ohio and Kentucky..No issues. Was actually fun. I also have the 6speed manual..with 4x4

Nice! I also own a 2020 Compass Sport, purchased brand new, but mine is 6 speed auto with FWD. Approaching 31,000 at this time, and only the auxiliary battery for the auto-start / stop system had to be replaced under warranty. Still on original breaks, but expect to replace the front ones in about 1 year or so. Love my Compass! Would buy again.

Edit: Subbed, you talk about vehicles totally different from other people, I like it. I ALWAYS use car complaints whenever looking to purchase used vehicles both from the dealership and privately. Actually I noticed alot of returns for the 2018 compass models and they re sold for like 10k less than msrp 6 months later and noticed they eat oil and stall a lot.

I own a 2014 Compass Sport and it has performed pretty well off-road. The first mechanical fix was yesterday when both front disc brakes had to be replaced after 7 years. Not much mileage on the car either, only 54000. But overall it's performed very well. Its maneuverability is good.

I own a 2017 Compass not the All New variant of the same model year. I agree it looks better. Always get tripped up with Grand Cherokees and Newer Compass's because of their similar front.

I've heard both good and bad from reviews. Most of the bad has been from the performance of the engine and transmission (slow acceleration, slow shifts). I've checked other models in that class and the Compass seems to have very similar 0-60 times compared to an Outback, the Equinox, the Tucson and the Sportage (all with base engines). Right now in California they have a $4,000 rebate on 2022 models. A nearby dealer has a half dozen Latitudes with the convenience package that originally listed for $35,000 going for $28,000 with that rebate and dealer discount. $28,000 for a well equipped AWD model sounds pretty good. Think I'm going to check one out this weekend.

Owned the 20222 Compass 4XE S since april. Traded in a Volvo V60 T8. Can't say the Jeep dissapoints, even iif its a lot cheaper. No errors after 5000km. In comparison the Volvo allready had 2 work shops visits with failing window wipers and Alarm going off periodicly.

I opted for the Cherokee, the 2.4L wouldn’t suffice for me. Yes, it’s attractive inside and out, but looks only go so far. I got a Latitude Lux with the 2.0T (which is a blast to drive) and the Active Drive I 4x4 system which is slightly more advanced than the Compass’s 4x4 system.

I have a 2018 jeep compass diesel manual front wheel drive. Only 25000 km driven but on pretty poor roads. Overall its good. Had all abs sensors fail within 2 years and replaced, free of charge, by the dealer. The new sensors are supposed to be redesigned. Otherwise there are cheap plastic bits here and there. But no rattles or squeaks so far. No problems in the last 2 years. It's lovely to drive, in the city or highway. AC is a bit weak especially when outside temps are above 38 degC. Only other thing noted is the outside air temp shows approx 20 degC error above actual temp.

wife has a 2018 Compass, we bought it because she liked the looks and decent fuel economy. It's been reliable and the wife loves it. I rarely drive it and am glad I don't have to. The engine sounds like an old sewing machine and it accelerates as fast as a tortoise. With that said, she didn't buy it to race it and she averages just under 26 mpg. She's happy with it and that is all that matters.

Also, the other not so dangerous problem is that the Jeep accelerates while going downhill. The revolutions go up to 3 or 4 while going downhill. I noticed this the first time it happened because of the noise the engine was making. This has happened to me about 8 times. The dealer's mechanics also say they don't have codes for that problem and, therefore, they cannot fix it.

Leased a 2019 Trailhawk. Now it has 37k miles. One problem was the start stop battery. Dealer swapped it out under warranty. It was burning lots of oil till it hit about 12k miles. Since then no more burning oil. I hear people say "oil rings need to seat" .. what ever that really means and why it would take 12k miles to for them to "seat". The engine is somewhat underpowered when you try to go up hills. But if you drive in flat areas, it is fairly peppy. I suppose you don't buy a trailhawk to drive in flat areas. I got it so I can go light off roading and it is doing that just fine. So after the bizarre 42 month lease ended, I bought it. Wife and kids like driving it. So far so good. Will need to replace the stock tires soon. Lots of hairline cracks on the side wall and treads are almost gone I leased it for 3 reasons. 1. 4x4. 2. wasn't too ugly. 3. price was 27k. So far so good.

I owned a 2008 Compass Limited and loved it. Yeah, it wasn’t a performance vehicle and wasn’t meant to be, but it got out of the way when I wanted it to. The only reason I traded it in was because I wanted something a little bigger. Traded it in for a 2013 Chrysler 300S AWD. I just might trade that in for another Compass this spring. As for performance there’s a whole lot of items you can get either aftermarket or through Mopar.

I bought my 2022 compass in Dec 2021 and today 4/11/22 it went all wacky on me on the highway!! The lights all came on and so did the emergency brake a couple of time almost causing an accident. I was finally able to get the Jeep off the road in a safe spot and then it just locked all up and shut off but the lights were still doing there thing!! So please becareful my fellow jeep friends! My jeep only had 8,000 miles on it!

I have a 2022 Jeep Compass Sport. i bought it on September 23, 2022 so I've had it for one year. However, back in August, the Jeep started turning itself off completely, even automatically putting on the emergency brake when I would stop at a traffic light. This happened 4 times to me. My husband experienced that the Jeep totally shut itself off while he was driving at the parking lot at Home Depot. When we took it to the dealer, they couldn't find the codes for the problem. It's been at the dealers' for 10 days now and still cannot find the problem. I will be returning this lemon to the bank if the issue cannot be fixed. We looked on the internet and, sure enough, there was the problem. Many tragic accidents on the highway with this vehicle. I am surprised that it hasn't been recalled yet. How many people have to die while driving this car before it is recalled?

I own a 2014 compass and have had it almost 5 years. Let me tell you!!! I love it but what I don’t love is this Spark plug, throttle bull crap!!! It has seemingly so electrical issues. Which the dealer tried to make me think I was crazy and there was no problem. Like the car jumps. It slows down and lights come on so annoying. If it sounds crazy I’m telling the truth. I also had an issue with my lights coming on inside and out and flashing while car was off. The doors would lock and Unlock by itself. Somehow I came to realize I needed to take the battery out of my key and that issue stopped. So I had to unlock my doors manually. I really hope they fixed this. I would not buy another Compass. Though the new compass is really nice my car has been a beautiful nightmare. It does excellent in snow and rain I mean supreme. Which is the original reason I got the car. This electrical issue is terrible though. Acceleration on it is terrible too. I just Cruze and pray nobody rams into the back of me.

they have a fuse box under the hood driver side closer to the head light. the box doesn't seal well check that area. good clean air filter, clean your throttle body. should be ok. be careful with grounds.

I have a 2021 that I love. But it is too compact in the cockpit. You can't get 2 large sodas in the front cup holders. I didn't like the automatic engine cut off at lights and stops. We push the button to turn that feature off. It also has the smallest gas tank I've ever owned. It actually gets good gas mileage but has to be filled several times a week because the tank is so small. I love the phone interface and the tech in the suv. Overall though, I love the Compass. Plan to keep it till it's paid off

The title says the "hard truth about the 2022 compass", why did I have to listen about the 2007-2014, etc. when they are completely different vehicles, I have had a 2019 with not a single issue at all about that vehicle. Now I have a 2022 Compass and so far is an excellent car, no issues so far, perhaps I can say i have a little difficulty operating the navigation system which is totally different than the 2019, but other than that it's all OK. Drove in snowy roads recently with the 4 wheel drive lock feature, no swerving or slipping and sliding.

Recent 2022 Hurricane Ian struck Florida rather bad from southwestern to mid-north eastern counties. My father's Pacifica sustained flood damage from Ian and he bought a 2022 Jeep Compass Sport base-line after insurance company gave him a settlement on his 2017 Pacifica. The Compass Sport is small, boxy, underpowered vehicle, the interior looks updated but lacks the feeling. Seats are not comfortable. However, he is an older gentlemen who does little driving these days. It's a bit lower to the ground than the Pacifica making it a little easier getting in and out. He needed transportation and the vehicle shortage is still ongoing as of October 2022. He is just okay with the Jeep Compass. It's nothing special and not a great driving vehicle. At this point it gets him and wife from point A to point B. Too early to tell what Jeep Compass problems will arise as he only had it for about 1 week. It is priced of the same vehicle likeness of other competitors. I've never been a Jeep fan and this is my father's very first Jeep in which he is not thrilled. Because it is a low trim, weak engine, and not exciting, it won't be worth much. I think $25K to $26K is overpriced for the Jeep Compass Sport and should be in the $23K range, now if Jeep put a better engine, then $25K could be worth it.

On my 3rd. Idiots keep hitting mine. Loved my 18 and 19 Latitudes. Currently on a 22 Limited. Biggest complaint across the board in my experience for this model Compass is the battery life of the Stop/Start battery. The UConnect 5 in the 22 is quirky. The collision sensors on the 22 also get dirty easier. And for some unknown reason they make you manually reset the system each time in the menu when it shuts itself off for this reason. It is ANNOYING.

We purchased this car new in September 22 and it has been a lemon from the start. Airbags didn't work in bad car accident. We were hit at Approx. 70-80kmh hour whilst stationary at road on Hastings River rd Port Macquarie. My wife and I sustained injuries with chronic whiplash and other muscular and joint damage. Additional issues, one being in the first 2weeks of owning this new Jeep Compass limited the paint was peeling off the front bumper bar, the touch screen was faulty, with maps constantly dropping out, app menu freezing and the car was getting increasingly harder to start. I would not recommend a Jeep to anyone as to book in for a service with local Port Macquarie dealer takes about 6 weeks. We purchased a new Sportage GT Line Turbo diesel instead, a much better car

I’ve rented a car and got the 2022 jeep compass. Car is a shit box, very slow engine, I’ve noticed that at 35k miles the transmission is slipping.

Oh and I had to add on not that it's affecting my model yet but the motors that are in there the 2.4 is I've had them before they were great with the update on it their oil burners so the blog say what a shame

Thank you for the review. Any advice for a woman who doesn't know suv's well? I have had Toyota Camrys for years and plan on trading it for an suv in the next few days but am not sure which is one is the safest, most economical and affordable. I have it narrowed down to Ford Escape, Subaru Forester, Jeep Compas or the small Buick SUV. I'm afraid of making the wrong choice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

just got my '22 compass a week ago... been driving it since then and i love it! i used to drive a car rental toyota rav 4 and the accelerator of my compass is almost the same as the rav 4... been driving on the city streets and the jeep is so smooth that i could not even feel im already more than 70mph speed... love it because it is compact and smooth and no problem so far...

And nobody can fix it it's been in a dealer shop over 10 times for the first lasting issue The yellow light comes on and shows 4WD service and other big problems like Differential and as well as Maine transmission when the certified mechanics can't fix it how can I sell this and get a different vehicle. if anyone's got any Idea please HELP.

It's almost funny how you say how bad the older models are at 70,000 miles. Any car could need a control arm at that mileage. Any car could have a transmission failure at 70k miles. This is very uninformative and deceiving. Not that I own a Compass or care about the Jeep Compass, but I do care about people giving the right information. For example I have a Honda Accord from 2008 that recently I had to spent 2k in repairs and maintenance at 80k miles. Does that make it a bad car? Not at all. Come on man, you are talking about 2007 models and cars that are over 70k miles. What are you even talking about. As a matter of fact now I'm going to buy a Jeep Compass just out of spite...lol.

they do go through front tire rods kind-of frequently but just pay the money get some moog ones with a lifetime warranty from the part store and don't worry about it they are easy enought to change.... the rear end does have an exponential amount of bushings that can go bad and creek like a mofo and the trailing arm bushing is a freaking nightmare to do.

We have the 2018 jeep compass with 29,000 miles my review is not gonna be that great. We also have the ram 1500 with a hemi the customer service has been very bad and we have the extended warranty on both vehicles through Chrysler. Because of the way the dealer have been and the warranty we will not be buying any more Chrysler vehicles. The jeep compass is a really cheap car and we have a banging issue under it since the day we bought it the dealer will not do anything about it and if you call Chrysler they just hang up on you we’re not even rude or anything they just hang up I don’t understand it. I’m so glad that we’re spending money every month on a warranty. The jeep is very under powered it’s an all-wheel-drive compass and the manual transmission. We bought it brand new it’s not used. The main issue were having right now is a severe oil consumption issue which everybody thinks it’s fine do you think it’s normal for an engine to use a quart of oil every thousand miles? Enjoy your jeeps guys!

@@roslechte I freaking love it. Mine is just the base Sport. Manual windows and locks, soft top. The only thing I don’t like is the gas mileage, it gets about 17-19 mpg, but it has the max tow with 4.10 rear end. And it gets a little loud if it’s windy, but I’m sure a hard top would be better.

I am having a 2020 rental Jeep Cherokee limited. Overall, the suv feels as it’s going to be blown off the highway. Lightweight. I’m coming from a VW Touareg TDI / 2011, a solid Porsche frame / motor version. The Cherokee has a super shitty SOUND system!

I'm really curious as to what vehicles people test drove before choosing the compass. I have a 2019 CX-5 touring in the shop getting some body work done and I'm stuck with this clump of a turd until I my CX-5 back. It feels so cheaply put together idk why anybody would choose it. I mean if you like throwing your money away on junk products that's really the only reason I can think anybody would buy this pos.

@@MrFoxracingred I have a family of 5 and we recently took it on a long road trip. It honestly wasn't that bad my kids we're fine in the back seat and their 15, 9 and 8. We fit quite a bit of luggage in the trunk as well. Overall I like the CX-5 compared to it's competitors. I feel it has the best features and interior quality in it's class.

that Jeep is poorly engineered. don't take it from me . but I was almost going to buy one . either the Compass or the Jeep Cherokee . I even considered buying Jeep Grand Cherokee. three Experienced Local mechanics in real life that I talk to face to face. and on KZbin Mechanics. all of them will tell me NO NO NO. they are very unreliable and the parts are very expensive. all that because i decided I need AWD and I was searching what is the best AWD Vehicle in the Market . I end up Buying 2012 Toyota Venza AWD v6 . very confident and happy with it. Jeep products and long term ownership is very uncertain regarding Relibitly.

With my Jeep Compass 2018, I did. Love the vehicle itself which is why I am upgrading to a 2022, giving it another chance. But it was oil consumption in the 2018 version was nuts, even when I first got it.The Jeep deanship tested it and said it was okay. It seemed to resolve after that but again had problem a month ago. If you look into the 2.4 Multiair/ tiger shark it has problems with oil in some of vehicles
