Absolutely fantastic review of a super car in all aspects. When you take into consideration price, performance, standard equipment, warranty, and most importantly, driving experience, there is nothing close to this. I love mine and value for money, there is nothing that beats it. I am bias, I love mine. Best car I have ever owned and I have had some fantastic cars in the past.

I own a 2018 MY18 Stinger GT in Deep Chroma Blue, for over 4 and a half years now, I can't believe how rare it still is on our Aussie roads all these years later, I feel so proud driving it on the road amongst those ego searching show offs driving their Mercs, BMW or Audi, which seem to be more common these days than our Aussie built Falcons and Commodores, I'm sure Kia Stinger turns heads more than those other luxury brands that have to me become boring, and not worth a second look, and from experience I believe those drivers actually feel intimidated and scared to take on such a beautiful Grand Tourer, that costs so much less and has a Kia badge on it. Anyway my observation and ownership experience.

Another thoughtless and unoriginal comment trying to write off all Merc/BMW buyers as badge snobs (I don't own one). The Stinger is unbeatable at its price for sure, and has a lot of value, but does not compare to a M340i or C43 head to head if price was not considered. The legendary BMW inline 6, ZF gearbox will smack the Stinger's ass all day long. The only argument is price price price, and to some people, it doesn't matter as much if they want that extra performance.

Such a great in-depth review, I love my 2019 Stinger Gt, best car I’ve owned to date. I went on a recent Stinger drive and to have 26 of these beautiful cars in convoy is a sight to behold.

2018 Kia Stinger GT Limited in Atomic Blue, here in Canada. Other than thin exterior paint that chips easily, and the occassional interior creak, my car has been bulletproof. I've had it 5 years next to August, and it's still gets attention to this very day. As much as I regret driving it in the winter, it's awesome in the snow, too.

Nice review. As a 50 something guy, I’ve owned over 30 cars and never purchased the same vehicle twice. Until this one. Having the original 2017 model, it has been replaced with the 2023. Plus I’ve had cars worth more than twice this, yet bang for bucks and the questions I still get just sums it up as an all round car. At 189 cms, I can also comfortably sit behind my driving position. Sadly, it’s the end of an era and I’m not ready to go electric just yet.

Had my 2021 MY 2022 GT for 9 months now, snow white pearl with red interior. Got a personalised number plate in red (OWWCHH). I love it and get more looks than I ever got with my last two BMW 5 series. Power is amazing and the 720W stereo very nice.

I have the OG my18 2017 Stinger GT in silver. I'm in two minds to buy the facelift depending on what price I can trade it in for. I love the stinger and sad to hear they are likely not to make any more beyond 2023.

Fantastic drive, took 8 months to get delivered. The only negative is the reach to the display screen and volume control can be awkward due to the design for Korean/US left side driver. And the rear passenger toe room under the seat is low.

A Future Classic Muscle Car! That's a BIG claim but it's how l see it! I also saw the 356 and Karmann Ghia in 1977 as Future Collector Cars! I owned 9 Ghias and started the 356 Registry in '86 with a friend. ( If that's of any value )

I really like the stinger and I am thinking about getting one now but I did watch some reviews and a lot reports about the rear diff failing and kia in most cases doesnt honour their warranty as they should and they were a lot report about rattling noises in the cabin and front brakes shudders

Great car in so many ways. Refined too. But with a few important drawbacks imho. The more serious, which really detracts from its GT status is the gearbox. First, the gearchange: it manages a decent performance in Comfort (end even then... 4th to 5th jerk is a a bit of a shame). In Sport or Sport + is a bit of a disaster. It is probably ok if you do all your gearshfts at 6.000rpm, but that is not the way you are allowed to drive outside of a raceway. Other that that, the shifts are so jerky that make using Sport in a twisty road just too jarring. Second (and most important): the fuzzy logic manual mode. This is supposed to be a GT with a generous engine, not a super-sport car, not a boring-mobile to get you from A to B in comfort. It is supposed to be fun to drive. The idea being that people who buy a GT know how to drive and enjoy driving. So... why the decision to offer it in purely automatic form? With no manual mode? A form that reminds me of an american station wagon from the 70s, and that basically no serious car producer adopts nowadays. Even much lesser cars have a choice of manual mode. Stinger has a confusing fuzzy logic temporary manual override. Whaaaat? For those who do not own the car: you get manual shift paddles, so you tend to think there is a manual mode, only... there isn't! The paddle are for "temporary use only" and the car will revert to automatic mode when it sees fit. Could be in the middle of a curve, or while overtaking, or -if you dare getting more sporty- just as you prepare to turn in a curve with the gear you've selected. No,no, no... you're doing it wrong, silly client. Here, let me shit up for you! That is what I hear the car saying every time I try to take control. Obviously that is no big dela if you just for for grocery or if you go for a highway trip. Actually, the car is a great highway cruiser! But again, the transmission setup is such an unintelligent choice that spoils even this experience. With my previous car (BMW) I usually selected sport suspension mode for smooth highways. It makes for a more secure feeling, mostly in windy days. But you cannot drive the Stinger in Sport in the highway!!!! They claim it is a GT, and indeed it in Comfort. But you you select Sport it will shift down and will prevent you to reach the final gear (8th). If you want firmer suspension and steering, you have to put up with more rpm, noise and burning fuel just for nothing. But you can, of course, put it in launch control and impress you teenager buddies. Wait... is this a GT car or a muscle car? I am flabbergasted no car reviewer ever mentions this. Ever. Despite being a very very obvious feature that puts the Stinger apart from all competitors.

Suphatra, I have done the Sydney to Melbourne trip about 4 times since having my Stinger. I fill up in Sydney and then fill up in Avenel, Victoria. I do the reverse when coming back to Sydney. That is approximately 750 kays and I average close to 7.2 litres per 100 which I think is quite reasonable for a 3.3 v6 twin turbo I just wish it came standard with a rear spoiler

I’m on my second, depends on the tyres with traction. Yes it has TC, if you have crap tyres then you’ll break traction easily specially in the wet or during winter. Some owners have a second set of tyres or wheels and put winters on during the colder months

It feels like a 200k car? Have you tried scratching that luxurious hard plastic right in front of your face (the centre of the steering wheel)? This is not a complaint of this car being not luxurious enough, I'm just starting to believe that the majority of Aussies don't know or have not experienced what actual luxury is.
