The 10.25" infotainment display in the Mazda CX-5 is an oldie, but a goodie. All it's missing is a touch screen to make it perfect. We do like the control knob, though.

You can move the knob up down left right on top of turning left/right.. On 9:57 you just simply nudge the knob down when youre on home tab.....

Those of you commented no touchscreen or its difficult to use, Ive got no issues with mine n using android auto. At first I was sceptical but its more easier to use than touchscreen. For example,on my 2020 corolla which is a touchscreen, everytime Im playing spotify it was difficult for me to search n look for the songs that I like. I had to come to a fullstop, focus to search n look n scroll up n down like you normally would on smart phone. Not a good idea if youre driving, there is a reason why all countries banning mobile phone usage while driving.. However with mazda knob, I could go thru spotify to search for songs and playlist much much easier and I could do it while in motion. And to make thins better, the HUD is a freakin bless. Only downside imo is when typing for addresses but you always stationary anyway when input an address.

I drove a Mazda3 daily for 7 years with that knob interface. It was painful to use with CarPlay. I don’t know if the updated system is any better, but the reason I didn’t buy another Mazda was solely because of that infotainment system.

2023 CX5 still sucks. My 6year old Subaru was much better. It's a reason NOT to buy a Mazda. Just remove that useless s screen which needs you turn the engine off to enter an address and we'll use our phones. Disgraceful, Mazda!

In CarPlay mode, you can use voice activation on steering wheel for Spotify specific song/station

I binged watch every Mazda CX-5 video before purchasing 2022 in Sept. I love everything about this vehicle EXCEPT all trims doesn't have Sirius Xm. I just never thought a vehicle of this quality and price point wouldn't have it. I work for a Toyota dealership and and every vehicle has Sirius had I known that certain Mazda didn't come with it I wouldn't have bought it probably. I can't get Pandora to connect so frustrating. Great video content

You can just steam it though your phone. Personally the audio quality is so poor on sat radio I don’t see any reason to use it personally. At least I wouldn’t pay for it.

Can't you "seek" through the radio stations by holding the track forward/backward button? I read somewhere you could and I can do that on my 2012 mazda 3 with the steering wheel controls.

That was great right up until the Android auto bit which was very unprepared and unprofessional. Maybe you are an Apple fan boy but at least you could have made the effort for the large percentage of people that do have Android phones.

The touch donsent work when Mazda Info System is on, when you Connect your Phone wireless to your Android Auto , The screen gonna react at your touch ... I dont know, if that works with AppleCarPlay ... its working by my 2023 CX-5

You can definitely still move through all settings and screens (including CarPlay) while driving

Agreed. He rushed through this video and left out a key flaw in the infotainment system: turning radio off without losing the Connect screen. Also no comment about Apple CarPlay randomly falling to come on, as other comments have noted.

@@TheDon6 I own a 2016 and 2021 carbon edition. My sister owned the RAV4 and it feels like you're driving cheap plastic. However if you're considering the hybrid RAV4 it cannot be beat.

I have a new 2024 CX-5 Signature Turbo. Great car EXCEPT for the radio/audio. It cannot be turned OFF without blacking out the Mazda Connect screen. To get this screen back by pressing the home button, the audio comes back on. Same with turning the car off and on: the audio comes back on. Weird! What was Mazda thinking? What’s on the Connect screen at 4:40? And yes, some of us boomers actually listen to radio.

2022 Mazda CX5 does not have wireless Apple CarPlay. Primitive engineering. Cords dangling in your car plus a pain to plug in and unplug each time you enter your car. Especially for short drives.

This infortainment system is the only reason I'm not buying Mazda cx-5 or any other mazda so far. I drive 20yo Golf 5 and I installed a large tablet media in it with android touchscreen and It's amazing experience. It's like you have a computer in the car.

Just test drove a 2023 CX-5 Signature Turbo. Not a fan of the infotainment, no touch screen?! Also I didn’t like how it drove: Rides very stiffly and the engine sounds unrefined.
