This is my second video about my 2022 goals. It focuses on my 2022 mental health goals for the New Year, including how I'm feeling before delivering baby #2.
Birth is a big deal! It's an incredible and worthwhile experience, but it also requires a lot of physical and mental preparation...especially if you've given birth before! Processing birth experiences from past pregnancies is crucial. Processing doesn't just help you feel better mentally, it helps you learn and plan. Reflecting on my first birth helped me determine what I'm doing differently for the second birth, and made me feel more prepared in general.
During my first birth, I gained an appreciation for the importance of mental preparation for giving birth. Staying calm helps birth go smoother for you and the baby, and can have a serious impact on the length of time that you need for health and healing after childbirth. So it is important to have a plan, to stay calm, and to feel supported and in control. I also gained an appreciation for the importance of physical preparation for giving birth. I made a to-do list for when labor starts so that I know: 1) What things to do when labor starts, and 2) What things to pack when labor starts. And, of course, I also stretched and did light exercise to stay in shape for the marathon that was about to ensue!
I hope that you find this reflection helpful and interesting. It really helps to listen to others' experiences! But it is also helpful to talk when you are ready. So, whatever you might be going through or preparing for, I highly encourage you to reach out to a close friend, your significant other, or a therapist. It isn't a sign of weakness to ask for help...it's just part of being human!

I don't know if you have already done this, but I think it is important to have words of encouragement for yourself and your husband on the 'to do' list. I know how easy it is to get physically ready and wait until the list is done to verbally encourage yourselves. I have tried to make to do lists for my husband that are a sequence of 'to do' and 'to know' For example : 1) load the dishwasher. 2) know that I love you. 3) clean the counter. 4) know that you are an amazing leader. Etc. He has said those encouragements help him stay mentally positive while he does the things on the list. I know you can do this and hubby and I will be here sending love and support to all of you❤️

4:30 It's important to remember when a health care provider asks, "How are you feeling?" they are not asking in the same way a friend is asking when they ask that same question. But we are very strongly conditioned to give the standard answer to that question, especially when it's asked in a greeting. We need to keep in mind, our health care provider is not a friend, they *ACTUALLY* want, even *NEED* to have that question answered honestly. It's kind of ironic if you think about it. Someone who loves us doesn't really want an honest answer to that question, while someone who is coming to visit us only because they are being paid lots of money to do so, does want an honest answer.

I had three unmedicated births and each subsequent birth was easier than the one before it. For me, childbirth is much more bearable than migraine! I loved Ina May’s book and felt so empowered reading it shortly before I gave birth. There’s nothing like feeling as if you are a superhero with all of your midwives/doula/spouse tending to you and encouraging you along the way. So excited for you and cheering you on from afar! 💜

You seem so much more well in these last several videos. I dont know if you are filming when you feel well or if you are just generally feeling better. I think your birth will go great! You are ready!

Love your videos! I’m trying to get diagnosed with a csf leak or iih. What are the earplugs you use for pressure changes caused by weather changes? I soooo need to get some of those and have never heard of them. You mentioned those in one of your videos and even my mom said, “wow you need those!”

9:45 I heard a story and I hope it's true. For the Royal Wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Di the Queen Mother and some other high ranking dignitary were in a horse drawn carriage together. At one point one of the horses let rip with a huge fart. Embarrassed the Queen Mother said, "Oh, I am so sorry." The dignitary said, "Oh, I thought it was the horse."

This is an incredibly disrespectful thing to say, especially when you know my story. If I had a silly walk but you knew it was because of a disability, would you point out that I walk like I'm drunk? I sure hope not. A disability with severe brain fog and memory loss shouldn't be treated with any less respect. I leave in the vulnerable moments so people can see REAL. To be explicit, I've been pregnant just about the whole time I've been on KZbin... there's been no drinking. If you don't actually think I'm drinking, this comment was not only hurtful, but also unnecessary. This is why youtubers suffer with so much anxiety. Please tread lightly and realize there's a real human on the other side of the screen who's just trying to live life and help people.
