I have never been a Mercedes fan. I never was a Volvo fan either, but there’s just something cool about the V90.

I love my XC40, but I got it because there was no local inventory for a V60 Cross Country. I’d love a Volvo wagon. And with the price differential, it’s so worth it compared to the Mercedes or Audi offerings.

I have the 2022 MB E450. Love it so far. I am a large driver, 6’6” 280lbs, and it fits me well, except when the rear seat is in use. Plenty quick and looks sharp.

I have a 2010 Volvo V70 R-Design, the last year for the V70 wagon in the US. Took me a while to find one since they only imported about 300. Volvo doesn't even bring the V90 anymore, so it looks like it's the V70 for a few more years. It's my 5th Volvo wagon. I love the minimalistic Volvo approach to the interiors as it's a vehicle not an entertainment center.

I owned an "89 Volvo 740 Turbo Wagon bought used with 18K miles and sold 20 years later with 285K miles. Now Im ready for my last car and the V90 CX may be it. In between I owned a Q45, a Pilot a CRV and Merc E350. The current Honda SUVs make it a tough choice, but Volvo SEATS and framed doors may be the deciding factor.
@seanym67 Жыл бұрын
I have a 2022 V90 CC and the choice was clear, lower power but my god $25k LESS for the Volvo. There are tradeoffs but not nearly enough to justify 25 K more. The polestar upgrade narrows the torque/hp gap considerably.

Good comparison video! I am curious when did Volvo stop making the third row/jump seats? Was this discontinued with the V 70 or or recent v 90?
@VicodinElmo Жыл бұрын
Seems like what the Merc received in rear trunk space, it lost in cabin space. The Volvo just looks roomier all around for passengers..

I owned a 1990 MBZ E300. Loved it but in 2006 it was averaging $350/mo for service. (Didn’t break down but when it needed work I pd a lot) So I purchased a 2006 Volvo V7”R. $52k Still have it and love this car. I hope to see it turn 250k. Currently 138k. I am looking for a newer model and will look for a 2019/2020 MBZ or V90. I don’t know why Americans love the SUV. Wagons have as much space and drives way better than any SUV. I use manual wheelchair and when I am with someone they put the chair in the back. I need to be sure the chair fits in the back of the V90.
@elitecoder955 Жыл бұрын
How does an SUV market even exist if Wagons exist? More efficient, almost same space except for head room and spare wheel space . Better styling and more visibility in the wagon too ! E450 Matic became the best car for me

It's sad that the only wagons available cost 50k or more. I Wish Toyota would bring their wagon to the states but that's a pipedream. It's only Subarus for me I'm afraid, although that's not a bad thing
@chriswhitewen9650 Жыл бұрын
Also the Subarus seem to be morphing into SUVs by getting taller and more massive over the years, to my bemused disappointment

The Volvo has a reputation for safety and durability that Mercedes can't match. I much rather buy the Volvo V90 Cross Country. Mercedes interior trim is very plasticity and just doesn't feel like a real Mercedes Benz quality interior.
@johnrodgers60492 жыл бұрын
I would much prefer both cars without the plastic body accents. I would also like the cars lower. I’m not an SUV fan and would much prefer the wagons to look more like cars. These are not going off road.
@JimmyMak2 жыл бұрын
For sure John, I agree. The V90 is beautiful as is but sadly we no longer get that option here in Canada.

Nah good riddance! You really don't need to wast time on the useless Audi Allroad Quattro. All Audi Allroad wagons are designed to spend 90% at the dealership service station anyways and the other 10% stranded on the side of the road! Mercedes and Volvo are true wagon builders they're both safer sturdier and stronger than the weak and fragile Audi Allroad!

The Mercedes can tell you a joke and do a lot more. You didn't use the wake words, "Hey Mercedes.". Shame on you for not knowing that lol, but you are reviewing it so you should know.

You don’t have to use the wake words when you press the voice activation button on the steering wheel.
