After a 90% charge on my EQS 450+ today, I had an indicated range of 500 miles but after 87 miles of highway driving that dropped to 347 miles. I was going a little faster than 70 mph, so my consumption was higher than in your test. I love the car for the features that are not available with Lucid or Tesla, like a sunroof that actually opens and has a motorized sunscreen plus Apple CarPlay and SiriusXM radio.

Awesome job Tom. You’ll have to have Kyle fly out and do the Tesla Long Range Model S and this same Mercedes because no one will let it rest if they’re not done on the same day, on the same road and under the same conditions if they’re within a mile of one another and you know who is not on top.

Tom great content 👍, just note that at the start of the test you drive very slow for the first mile or so, did you turn off the AC system? Also note that all range test is a loop style testing, however most people do distance test and call it range test lol, so no worries distance test is normally from point A to Z in one direction, too bad many people don’t know better and call that test a range test, awesome content Tom more please.

I was wondering, are you planning to do the same test with the Aptera with the long battery? That would be a test of +/- 14 hours! (I guess you would need a co-driver to split in legs of a few hours as human doesn't have a theoretical range as long as the car).

Not bad at all. It could reach the 400 miles with more optimal exterior temperature. I don’t think that the S LR can beat it, Teslas are notorious for not reaching the EPA range and it is estimated at 405 mi, so 380 miles is my bet for the Tesla S LR 70 mph hwy test. 😎

More proof that MB did their homework. Just a little info that no one seems to share. That 500 mile range on the Lucid is on a "special edition vehicle" Their real production cars will not have a 500 mile range, in effect, what every EV reporter has been "reporting" on are "ringer" cars. And lest I forget since I like to put this comment on every Lucid article so people know what they are doing: Lucid Air is owned by Mohammed Bin Salman, the Saudi murdering despot that had Kashoggi cut into little pieces in an embassy and shoved into suitcases so he could have proof of his demise. If that doesn't give you pause about a product I dont know what ever will.

The regular production Lucid Air GT has 4 miles less range than the Lucid Air Dream Range. Plenty of murderous regimes and affiliated companies own Mercedes stock. Mercedes was the preferred vehicle of Hitler.

I can’t see myself buying anything else than a Tesla at those premium range prices… Tesla had become the Apple of cars… and for now they’re at the stage of Apple before launching the first iPod. Apple is much older and went through a lot of lean years. Apple had the Jobs era then Jobs went to Next and came back and passed away and Jobs is in the Cook era. Tesla is not Apple. It's a much younger company and even has different types of customers.
