I love the fact your channel isn’t scripted. Your in depth reviews and comparisons are one of the best. I love the fact you get the whole team involved and get everyone’s point of view on each car. Matt Watson has just released his review on the AMG spec of the EQS. Looks like one impressive piece of kit. Boot is massive too at over 600 litres. Sadly I can’t afford one but if I could I’d be very tempted indeed.

I've heard about brake problems on most Electric cars, I was watching an EV mechanic driving round the UK servicing various EV's and the brake issues were coming up time and time again. If's caused by lack of use since most folk stick to Regeneration and consequently the brakes don't get used. The answer is simple, periodically use the bloody brakes!

Stumble upon your channel while looking for Mercedes EQS reviews as I’m considering between this and new i7. Good honest review. Keep it up. Few important things you pointed out that might sway my buying decision. ❌ Bad brakes ❌ No reclining back seats (which is a shame since this is an S class) Can you tell me more about the comfort level behind? Your video on the backseat comfort is too short. 😅

Great video as usual. Love the car and I can just dream of it. Don't believe I would go for the hyperscreen though. Had a look at an EQS at "my" dealer and it didn't have the hyperscreen and I just think that it looked enough. Looks a little bit over the top with the hyperscreen.

Great review, content gets better and better. You guys know your stuff on EVs and it shows. I think the established OEMs are now catching and even pushing Tesla, particularly in terms of interior, range of options and dealer network. This race is just starting and competition will surely drive it faster further.

Is it better than the Model S, for I have one on order but dates keeps going back?
@RSEV3 жыл бұрын
Well more luxurious and cosseting by far. Tesla brings easier charging which helps for regular long journies and performance of a Plaid is impossible to touch but otherwise yes a very very viable alternative indeed and more luxury feeling

@@RSEV Thanks Richard, looking forward to the Model S Plaid review.
@glenny29603 жыл бұрын
David - ‘better’ is very subjective isn’t it. I’d stick with the model S if I were you. If you like interior luxury with loads of screens then maybe you’d prefer the EQS, but for anything else, then stick with the Tesla. They’re not the most in demand Ev’s in the world for nothing. Economy, charging infrastructure, OTA updates, performance, ability for future FSD, holding their value, overall tech (such as octovalve) …..the list goes on. Tesla are always developing & improving their products - You won’t be disappointed…..

Why did that centre sliding lid sound so ridiculously cheap?! And the "twang" when the indicator flicked off? I don't think I'm a fan of the eqs, no matter how quiet and luxurious it may be
@RSEV3 жыл бұрын
Yes I noticed that twang when I watched it back myself and thought how old school that is!
@Durzel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that twang surprised me too. Definitely not what you’d expect from Mercedes and particularly an S-class. I know that’s snobby, but the customer for this car will want uncompromising quality. This looks like a lovely car. As you say electric cars are perfect for this wafting in total serenity feel. No noise, total comfort, etc.

I'm in Australia and Merc treat their dealer's extremely badly and then pass that treatment on to their customers. If you want top class after sales, it's got to be a petrol mild hybrid Lexus. (Lexus TRUELY amazing when it comes to after sales). Here, if you wanted electric, Tesla are producing the best EVs, in my experience, I wouldn't go near a Merc Ev here.

@davidws54393 жыл бұрын
At last, you are driving on the RIGHT side of the road and left side of the car! The USA needs to actually change to the metric system and all the countries that drive on the left needs to switch to the right side of the road. This would save a lot of money on car design and would open the left hand driving countries so they would get new vehicles much sooner. Looks like you are doing a great job driving on the right side.

I'm finding that the (necesary) obsession with range in all EV reviews is starting to become really boring and the amount of effort ( and cost ) required to achieve 300 miles without 30-55m recharge tell me that the technology needs to progress quite a way yet. Was told yesterday about queues at a charger in Essex - cold weather having decimated range for numerous people wih a family in the car and the heating on going Xmas shopping.
@frankblok17433 жыл бұрын
Do not agree with this. 10-80% of the Max range means only 70% remains available. And subtract another 20% in winter and you are down to 350 km of operational range, which is nothing special. So, well done Mercedes!
@edwyncorteen15273 жыл бұрын
If you have owned one of the original 24kWh Leafs you would understand this obsession, these days all you need in the UK is a reliable 300 mile range so charge every 200 on a long trip with plenty to spare if there is a problem. The queues you mention is the reason my next car will be the Tesla Model Y, the supercharger network is simply a game changer. I have heard lots of anecdotal evidence of people buying cars like the I-Pace but rapidly swopping them for a Tesla due to the public charging network.
@mdc59403 жыл бұрын
I tried to watch this review... Electric cars just ruined the whole process for me😔Big screens, frunk, range, charging time🤧 Gone are the days when our cars had a personality, a bond with the driver! As soon as AI will become fully operational and available, we'll just be transported from A to B inside a pod starring at a screen instead of a windshield similar to an amazon package in the back of a truck! It's just sad what it's become.
