Have these people lost their collective minds? $191K for a 23' boat! That is total insanity IMO. Unless one purchases a used boat, it's really hard for the average person to purchase a new rig these days. Boating is NOT what it used to be! Great video & thanks for showing us around! 👍👍

Don't worry they just keep increasing financing length so they can keep raising the price lmao.

Capt.. I am still wrapping my head around that Everglades for $192K with a single engine. Ridiculous! A few years ago, I would go to Bass Pro Shops and see the 23' Mako with two (2) 150s Mercs for $85K (including trailer). Boston's Whaler Montauk (21 feet) was in the mid $50s and i recently got quoted $114K. Insane...

As many have said, I wish we had the usual insane boat pricing of years past. Instead of the new hyper ludicrous insane.

I have a robalo r272 bought used with twin 200s, paid 85k from an older couple who barely used it and it’s been great

Dang. Missed one of the coolest features on the Everglade: The rotating helm seats. Not that it justifies that price tag though.

Love these kind of videos. Definitely allows me to see different kinds of boats. I’m definitely in the market but we’re waiting for our house & dock to be completed.

Those are quick release pins for the bumpers on the everglades. Nice boat but pricey. Sweeney saw that warp in the hatch right away. Very roomy for a 23. Forward seating more forward than normal a d nice added fishing cushions forward as well.

You guys should have checked out the Robalo R230. A nice mid tier boat with a lot of bang for the buck compared to these three boats. Love mine.

Features are not what you want on a boat, bells and whistles fail. You want a boat made with the best quality materials, the best laminate schedule possible, and simple. Of these three boats, I would take the Reef Runner. Now there is a little bit of hype and BS surrounding the company, but they make a very good quality robust boat, a "brick shithouse". It's a three-piece boat, they plexus the cap to the hull, completely sealing it, they bond the liner to the hull with Arjay putty, they glass a lot of pieces together etc. I don't know if they use vinyl ester resin for all of their glasswork, but overall, it is a great boat with incredible performance with a 300. They just need to raise their transom bracket thing to fit a 30" shaft motor better. The best 23-foot boats on the market are the Albury Brothers 23 and Stuart 23. Albury uses hand-laid glass for everything as well as vinyl ester resin. They Polybond the liner to the hull under atmospheric pressure, holding it there for days I believe. Unlike every other boat, there is no empty space in the hull sides, and they are solid as rock. They use the best quality components for everything. Simple and will last forever. The Stuart is essentially an "upgraded" copy of the Albury. Unlike the Albury, they vacuum-infuse their parts which is even better. Their process of bonding the hull to the liner isn't as strong, but I think they use a methacrylate adhesive. Their fit and finish is probably even better than the Albury. That being said, it sucks that they are married to Yamaha. A boat should be powered with whatever you want. Sure these 23ft boats may be expensive, but in the boating world (unlike the automotive world), you usually get what you pay for. If I had all the money in the world, I would still only get a boat in the 23-25ft size range that could be powered by a single 300. So much easier to maintain, so much less expensive to run, so much easier to handle, and so much more fun to take out than larger "status symbol" boats. If you're considering a new lower tier boat, I would HIGHLY recommend instead looking at a used Albury, Stuart, Reef Runner, or similar in that price range instead. You will be a whole lot happier

Say what you want , just because your paying more does not mean a thing, all these new boats are being turned into electronic nightmares. Simplicity on any vessel is the rule of thumb. Take the Digital throttle,Ive captained 2 vessels where it failed 1 a crew supply vessel, the other a tug. Both had digital throttle failures, both had voltage drops which made them dangerous! The crew boat put itself in gear , it came ahead and smashed into a wall sending a seamen into the water. , voltage drop out! The tug had a built in delay, to keep knuckleheads fro shifting from forward directly to reverse, on a voltage drop out , the delay became infinity and it never shifted, I’ll take a cable every day! Out of the three I would say the Carolina Skiff was 2/3s less but worth a hell of a lot more. Never forget flash stuff means nothing and aimed at amateurs that know nothing of Boats! My first look is at hull design, , then power. These days people buy cars and never ask or look whats under the hood!

Interesting about the digital throttle failures. I’m on my second boat and 7th year (last four with a twin engine/throttle set up) and no issues. I do generally agree that boats are getting overly complicated….,

192k? For a 23-footer. You could get a great used Tidewater 280 CC adventure for that price.

I personally wouldn't buy a new boat and being in the north east my preference is pilot house boat. 10 years ago I found a basically unused 2001 (64 hours on engine) C-Hawk in Maryland. I paid 10k for it and am still using it today. I'm figuring I could still recoup my original dollars for it. Like everything else it's a very personal decision.

The helm seat on the Everglades rotates 180 degrees to face the stern - that is what the center latch is for. And that low 'seat' on the back side is actually a foot rest for when the seats are turned to face rearward. Still no way that a 23' CC boat is worth almost $200k.

Boat manufacturer's are going to price themselves out of the blue collar market. These are high end boats, mid tier boats like Robalo, Seapro, Sea Hunt and Tidewater are much more affordable. Great video as usual. I have a 2019 Sea Pro 239 and if your interested in doing a review on it , I'm on the Peconic in Riverhead. #seapro239

Even if I had $190K, I would not buy the Everglades. Way over priced like so many other things currently in this economy. Fit and finish is nice, but there are a lot of other boats with similar fit and finish that cost a lot less. I love my Pursuits but my money would be better spent for a 230 or 242 Robalo with $$$ left over for a good trailer and gas. I do not fish salt, but prefer fresh water fishing along with my family along for water sports, snorkeling and hanging on a sand bar someplace. I wonder what that same Caroline Skiff would cost up here in NY or New England. Probably another $10-15K.

It's not a seat it's a foot rest for the seats that swivel around to face back. The seats don't slide they swivel. The everglades. Way over priced.
