Why I cant unlock my doors while the engine is on after closing the trunk

Nothing works that requires the key fob once the engine is running. It's a safety feature. You can lock your doors from the door panel lock switch but then you will need to use your actual key to unlock them. You do have a key inside your fob. I am not a fan of this safety feature. Mist brands of cars you can have the engine running and you can lock your doors from the fob while you run into a convenience store. Mitsubishi vehicles won't do this.
