4:10 - The shark-fin antenna solely contains the communication module required for SiriusXM satellite radio & travel link which operate in the GHz range of the radio spectrum. The traditional radio antenna is needed to adequately receive regular FM (MHz range) & AM (kHz range). You can get a 'stubby' aftermarket antenna that replaces the original to make it much shorter, but you negatively affect AM radio reception pretty drastically.

The 2022 GT Trim in Manual also has LSD, Bilstein Dampers and Front Shock Tower Brace. No additional package needed. They are not available in AT.

Your videos are entertaining and informative! The Mazda Miata is a great baby Jaguar, front/back . It’s not meant for speed, it’s a GT chilling car ! A great second car . Super super reliable ! Again great job with a video you’re very positive ! I know the Miata was debuted in 2016 however it looks so close to the 2022s Of Mazdas lineup it does not matter ❤️👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Simplicity at best, it’s a drivers car !

I’m disappointed in the limited use of terracotta brown napa leather in the 2022 MX-5. I really liked the white napa leather of the 2021; the white leather on the doors and the dash tied the interior together well. The 2022 edition limits the amount of terracotta brown to only the seats, and skips the doors and dash. Sadly I could not find a 2021 model to buy before the end of the model year.

Great presentation! I just bought a soft top version of the GT here in Spain. The trim level is called 'Zenith' and I got it in the iconic Soul Red Crystal Metallic color. Here we don't have the ugly shark fin satellite antenna and I did not get the rear back up camera either. Both ruin the appearance of the back of the car imho. The should have put the rear view camera under the lip just above the licence plate it would not have been as noticeable there. We also don't need the side reflectors over the wheel arches- another ugly detail. Also, I always turn off that stupid i-Stop feature- I don't care what they say I still believe it's not good for the engine and it's annoying too on a sports car like this. I can wedge a piece of cardboard in beside the i-Stop on/off button and it stays OFF permanently! I'm 6'1" and my head touches the roof of the RF but no issues with the soft top. We have 320+ days of sunshine where I live in the very south east corner of Spain so it was a no brainer getting the drop top...and I prefer how it looks. I'm in love with this car. As youtuber Dennis commented elsewhere I don't see this car as a speed demon. It's for cruising down the coast or over winding mountain roads....and looking cool and having so much fun doing it!

dude I am about the same height as you and about to order the RF>. I prefer that for personal reason but I know the soft top is equally as good. I am living in portugal and that is why I want the soft top. I am making a big sacrifice for this car as I like mountain biking and so I'll need to forget this car but it is what it is. I consider it to be a device that will give me "fun". and not utility. Can I ask your experience with KPC? Or did you buy an pre 2022 version>

@@hypnotechno I got my brand new soft top MX-5 in December from a Mazda dealer just outside of Madrid. It does not have KPC. Unless you thrash the thing and race it at high speeds all the time I don't think you will miss the feature. The car handles like it is on rails anyway. If you can find a 2021 model new you may pay thousands less for it than the 2022 with KFC. I got the mid level trim ('Zenith' model) for 30,900 with a few extras. Same model on the 2022 Mazda site today (soft top KPC model) goes for 35,400 (!). Have you test driven the RF? Make sure there is enough headroom for you- my head was touching the roof. The Mazda really is a lot of fun- everyday I sit in it to go somewhere I am so excited and everyone is staring at the car in the Soul Red Crystal colour with the roof down.

@@jadonatmazda Thanks for the explanation re i-Stop. I was wondering as I did not see the button in the usual place to the left of the steering wheel. I assumed it was always 'On' without the ability to toggle on/off. Glad to hear US spec'd cars don't have it. Yes delighted with the car- I would be interested to try the Recaro seats to see if they are more comfortable than the leather seats my car came with. And dear oh dear- the notoriously soft paint (at least on the Soul Red Crystal finish) already had 2 chips on the front by the time I got it home from the dealers. Mind you, my drive home was half way across Spain (500+ KM's)...still, very disappointing :😞

The only thing I do not like is the speedometer, because it is too small and is not digital. Switching it with the gauge that measures rpm’s would make it perfect, but digital would also be nice. I have loved this car this summer, and will hate to see the season end. It attracts attention from men and women alike! Love, love, love it!

GT-S package hasn’t been an option since last year. All manual transmission GT mx-5’s come with the bilstein shocks and the LSD just like the club trim. The automatics do not.

You can notice the difference! You willy really only be able to tell the difference in high load cornering though, day to day seems pretty much the same as last year.

Believe me when I say if I can get in and out of this car after nine spinal surgeries, anyone can! It took me a week and a half to learn how to get out without blowing the horn, but the secret is to put both feet on the ground first. It took me a week to learn how to get in, but you just reverse the above. The seats move, as does the steering wheel.

Driving a Miata with an automatic is like going to a movie with a bag over your head. My wife can drive a manual, and I can assure you that automatic transmissions aren't a "woman thing". Take the time to teach your wife to drive a manual. You'll be glad you did.
