Great Truck and super nice interior vs. the competition. (No iPad on the dash!! Yeah!!) Trying to decide between the SV and the Pro-4X....??? What's the cost difference?? And I know you said the Pro-4X rides better... but... is it THAT MUCH BETTER? Do the Bilsteins make that much of a difference? Just curious. This SV and color is awesome though... Best Mid-size truck out there right now in my opinion. Thanks for the review! Great job detailing the small details!

@@johng.4959 get the SV unless you want the features of the Pro-4X. He said the SV handles a little better and has a firmer, but still nice, ride. You’ll likely get worse MPGs with the Pro-4X

@@garrettw99 Thanks! I like the look and it's a tough choice.. but.. where do I use the truck most? LED headlights would have been nice on the SV.
MSRP to MSRP you can get an SV with LED headlights but at that point you’re the same price as a Pro 4X with the technology and convenience package. the only difference is you’ll have leather and a Fender stereo on the SV and not on the Pro 4X unless you also get the premium package. The point is if you price on an SV with LEDs you’re getting to the same price as a Pro 4X, might as well get the Pro 4X resell value will be better

I so totally agree with your positive comments on the physical push buttons and twist knobs for controls. This is 2024 now, I feel motivated to grab a PRO-4X before they might go to larger computer control screens and very vexing software virtual button nonsense. For me, those are distracted driving. My wife’s car, I stop it and pull over to tweak even basic things. I am so glad you mentioned maybe the PRO trim soaks up bumps better. That’s the info I was seeking in deciding which model. And I really want the LED lights and the paint protecting wheel arch moldings. I don’t need to pull stuff nor off road, it seems some overkill, maybe get one of those tents for the bed and hit the state park woods in perfect temp seasons. Almost daily, my heavy e-bike gets rolled in on a motorcycle ramp, fold handlebars and laid down, kitty-cornered to fit. I tested out a not large 8” step up box placed on the ground towards front of the bed, and I’m tall, step up on that and can easily reach to lower bike flat for transport. I winter bike and go on salty roads, so no bike carrier on back will do. The other good thing will be the 4x4 for snowy slippery roads. It’s been almost 4 decades since I’ve had a part time system, however, I’m used to all the time AWD easy peasy. They could quicken the steering ratio and turn radius. The test drive, I was very impressed with how quiet it is inside and the ride was not as truckish as expected. Set up a little higher, nice Birds Eye view. Yet midsize is plenty large for me and space consumed in the garage or needed to park is reduced from full sized, and the price of full size, can’t. I’ll lose about 8 mpg’s over AWD four popper, but I only drive like 6000 miles a year. Appreciate simplicity of no turbo. Nissan for this truck seem pretty good at “Less is more”. It’s simply honest, very few gimmicks. Looks like you had fun driving it and making it zip along. The engine revs to 7000 easily. I understand that 9 speed auto is licensed by Mercedes. If German engineering, they are the best engineers of new technology. The cheery electric blue metallic, cloth seats and demand heated steering wheel, PRO-4X would be it. Just have to decide if spending a chunk or keeping same vehicular setup. 8 years old, the license tabs are just getting comfortable. Thanks for the review.

I bought a Pro4X about 5 months ago. I've had mine kick out on wet pavement a few times. It's always been on sharp turns and I had a heavy right foot. I traded a 2019 Ranger for the Nissan and don't have any regrets at all. It's a well built little truck.
@Joe-eg7ml2 жыл бұрын
@@Mark-op7zt what didn't u like about the Ranger?
@Mark-op7zt2 жыл бұрын
@@Joe-eg7ml There was way too much plastic. The interior was all hard plastic. The interior controls on the dash were hard to see at night. The auto start/stop. You could override but it had to be done every time. I believe there are aftermarket fixes for this though. The halogen headlights were terrible. I put the brightest halogen bulbs I could find and this helped, but they were still not that bright and they only last about a year. The engine put out quite a bit of power but with all turbos, it's not always consistent. I also wonder about long term reliability. I had the FX4 package and with the little off-roading I did it seemed to be very competent. The seats were comfortable. The Ranger isn't a bad truck I just think the Nissan is better for the price. I paid about $1k more for the Pro4X than I did for FX4. The Nissan has awesome LED headlights, more soft touch surfaces mixed with hard plastic, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors, naturally aspirated V6, better looking truck(subjective), better ride, in my opinion. Quieter. Adaptive cruise. Wireless charging. It's not perfect though. I agree with what The Topher said about the turning radius and it starts out pretty quickly when first getting on the gas. Both of these issues I'm used to and it's really no longer an issue. Some of the switches are in an awkward hard to see place to the left of the steering wheel, but they're not switches that are used often. There are heated mirrors but they don't fold and the rearview mirror is not auto dimming. Those are my complaints so far with the Nissan. To get a comparable Ranger you would spend quite a bit more from what I remember. Some features could have changed since I bought my Ranger in 2019. Both are good trucks but I really like the Nissan much better.

@@Joe-eg7ml I haven't seen the Raptor model yet. I think abroad they have diesel engines so I'm not sure what they will use here. I will add from my last post to a couple of my Nissan complaints. I didn't get the top package, I think it's the luxury package. That would have probably solved my mirror complaints. At least the auto dimming rearview. I really didn't want leather seats and I got a surprisingly good deal considering the shape the auto industry is in right now.

"I love the simplicity here". What?! Compared to last generation this is so busy. Anything but simple. Trucks are becoming cellphones. Meaning, marketing has told us we 'need' the latest version. Further manufacturers are coming out with new models ever 2-3 yrs. Who wants to spend $35k+ to have it be 'obsolete' in a year or two? Vehicles are tools. This complaining that your truck isn't a mobile cellphone with all the tech is from buyers who don't use a truck except as a status symbol. The previous generation was all the truck most general consumers need. Not a cellphone on wheels, or a full size (aka a small house), to drive in the city 99.9% of the time.
