Yeah, as someone who leased a 2014 and 2019 Sentra, I definitely noticed the improved look of the 2022. I didn’t think the others looked bad but the new models are very sporty. Almost like a 2010s BMW 3 series.

Did you buy it brand new? If yes, do your 5k mile oil changes and 30k mile CVT fluid changes. If not, depending on the mileage, you could do your CVT fluid ASAP. like before you hit 60k or 30k miles. Take care of that nice vehicle 👍

I think you are spot on here. Definitely better than the Korean choice's. I have heard the JATCO CVTs are getting better. The Corolla is just a little to small. The Mazda is a fantastic option but again that back seat area is tiny plus it's sports a torsion beam. That leaves the Civic. Probably the best all around pick even though it also utilizes a CVT. I'm glad they all exist. Competition drives manufacturers to produce better automobiles.

I know people that have long term success with the Nissan CVT. Why? Because they take care of their vehicle and change the CVT fluid after 30k miles religiously. And they also do 5k mile oil changes religiously too. And they don't listen to the nonsense that it's a "sealed transmission". That's a bunch of BS. Even if the manufacturer says that , it's still a bunch of BS. I also take care of my vehicles and they easily last 200k plus miles indeed. Good review 👍. Also, if you are going to buy a used Sentra, make sure that it has a good service record (with documentation to prove it) like the one I mentioned (30k transmission service and 5k mile oil changes). Or buy one with 30k miles or less, nut with a good service record 👍

I love my 2017 Nissan Sentra S with a 6 speed manual transmission stick shift. Super low mileage and no issues. Every time I buy a Nissan I prefer a manual transmission stick shift. Those are the ones that last a long time. I bought my Sentra with 40k below market value. I'm the 2nd owner. Person who had the vehicle before me barely driven it. I feel like it's a brand new Nissan Sentra to me. 14k when I bought it. Gave $13k for my Sentra. My payments are super cheap of under $200 a month.

Own the mazda 3 2023 sedan fwd, carbon edition. Your Mazda 3 review sold me on my purchase. Has all the active safety, adaptive cruise, heated front seats etc. Great value. 6 speed Auto, n/a engine with 191 hp comes standard with 12 speaker Bose. Great review on the Sentra and good camparison to the other compacts features and pricing.🙂👍

I chose the 2022 Sentra over the other 3 . I’ve had Corollas before and their body style is too straight , no sexy curves like the Sentra . I don’t want a hybrid or a hatch back so again I chose the Sentra . The safety features have already helped me prevent two accidents with its early warning system. I love the Nissan connect app it gives me gps on display and warns of accidents ahead on the roadway . Nice product Nissan !

I've worked at both Toyota and Nissan dealerships, and yes, Nissan has had its issues with their CVTs, but the shear number of recalls Toyota had was almost as bad as what I saw when I worked at a Ford dealership. As it was though, Nissan did extend coverage on their CVT unit in acknowledgement of their problems. Since they remain committed to using a CVT, I suspect they are also determined to resolve their issues with them as well. BTW, I've heard Subaru has issues with their CVTs too.

After watching the Marketplace episode, I have been concerned for some family and friends with Hyundai vehicles. It's also what kept us from looking seriously at the new Tucson and Sante Fe hybrids (also wanted to avoid the turbos). I have a 16 Sentra and I can say the interior is laid out very nicely. There's nothing that gives the feeling of cheap flimsy materials. It's by no means going to be mistaken for a luxury vehicle but it's nice for what it is

Loved my 2020 Sentra, but the quality wasn’t there and the electronic issues were very apparent. I now have a 21 Mazda3 turbo. It’s leaps and bounds ahead of Nissan quality and reliability

Currently have a 2017 sentra base model. I just took it in to get the transmission looked because it felt odd. What do you know? Cvt failure error code. Good thing it was still under warranty. They gave me the 2022 altima for a loaner. I must say it was very nice. Great video.!! I think I want to get the Mazda 3 sedan

I would DEFINITELY pick the Sentra over a Hyundai or Kia any day. Its a beautiful car both inside and out. However the CVT transmission is a deal breaker. I have a 2015 Nissan Versa S with 22K miles on it. Had no major issues but wanna get a Mazda 3

Don't, I purchased their flagship sedan (Maxima) only to have the CVT go out after 6yrs of use. The CVT was problematic from day one, I reported this to NMAC numerous times and they did nothing! Stay away from Nissan.

I think it is more than anything a personal opinion what you say in this video, the interior quality of assemblies and materials of this sentra is far above the corolla for example, although in the past several had problems with the cvt, it does not imply that it will happen, and it would be impossible for this vehicle to have less durability than the sentra with manual gearbox, than the Honda or the Toyota

Nissan is over-looked ( as well as Mazda) as everyone thinks they have to have a Honda or Toyota for Japanese reliability. Nissan has cracked the CVT issue a while back, so it is reliable, and a bargain. You will pay a premium for Honda and Toyota, which may not pay off even with higher perceived resale values. The Sentra is a good value .

The Honda Civic used to always be the standout aesthetically. But among the current generation of compact cars, it's downright dowdy compared to the competition. J.D. Power rates the 2022 Nissan Sentra as more reliable than the 2022 Honda Civic and comparable to the Toyota Corolla in that dimension; the 2023 data is not all in yet.

Plus, Nissan is in financial trouble, not only because of this transmission catastophe, but also shady dealings by CEO Carlos Goshn, driving NISSAN finances into the Marianna Trunch, off the coast of Japan. For heaven's sake, that crook Goshn was smuggled out in a cardboard box on a private jet! Remember Goshn now?? 🤔

You should research more, I have been driving my 2020 Nissan Sentra for almost a year and everything works perfectly, sturdy and smooth, transmission have improved and also a 7 years transmission warranty, second Nissan is not in trouble, study more before try to fool consumers.
